It doesnt stick to the metal pans. I've never used a plastic one, but have you tried cleaning it really well and rubbing it with a dryer sheet to reduce static electricity?
0.7" @200 yards? AWESOME! I'm also doing a similar thing with my 6.5 Grendel. I've loaded up some ladder charges using fire-formed and new brass, and I'll be comparing velocities and groups. I should be doing this next weekend, during the Holiday. Great video, my friend
Thanks, Jerry! I couldn't believe the difference it made. My jaw dropped when I walked up to the target. I'd be interested to see your results man. I did my ladder charges using range brass and once I found a node with that, I used that charge for the test. Wish it would have worked out with the 75gr bullets, I had two range trips worth of footage that was a failure because of the new bottle of powder I bought 😂
@@TinManReloading I still have about 75 new cases that I need to fire form, and I thought this comparison would be a good opportunity to demonstrate the differences between new and fire-form. Since you brought up the subject first, I'll make sure to give a shout out to you, because I try not to plagiarize my friends.
@@Jerry-dk8se I would never accuse you of plagiarism bud! I'm sure I'm not the first one to do a vid like this and actually would enjoy you doing it to see how your results compared to mine. No worries!
Thank you, Kenny! I have a newfound respect for you guys that take hours to edit and make videos like these! I hope I can find another load with that bottle of Varget.
Thanks, Chico! That means a lot brother. I'll give you all the help I can and if I cant answer your questions, chances are we both know someone that can 😂 Thanks for watching 👍🇺🇸
Great video, but you forgot to makes excuses 😉. I’ll try varget again when I try larger bullets, but couldn’t find a good load using 55g. Nice range !!
@@CrankyCleatus I was totally gonna do the 5 gallon bucket, but didnt think it would fit the bill for this video. I'll save it for when I do the 75 grainers 😂 Plis, Uncle Jim beat me to it 😁😂😂🦄
Would have liked to listen but couldn’t because the constant background noise (“music”?)…. Why does this happen to often to gun channels? Basic audio 101 rules apply regardless of what the subject is
Thanks, Scotsman! Yeah, I figured I had the editing software that came with my laptop so why not use it and step my game up a bit. Took about 3 hours though, I had to figure the software out 😂 Hope all is well man.
Thanks, Ghost Rider! That is an app called Range Buddy. It's free on Google Play store but I've been told it's like, $20 on Apple store. You take a picture of your target, set a reference size of something in the picture (I used a 2" sticker), put in your distance and bullet diameter, and mark your shots.
@@GhostRiderUSA Yes, you have to allow access so the app can take pictures and/or access pictures you've already taken. It can be kinda tough to figure out how to use it, so if you need any help navigating through it lemme know. There might be a tutorial vid on YT. Took me a while to figure all the buttons out.
That was a huge difference in spread for the fire formed brass. Do you clean the barrel between tests? If not, how much do you believe barrel fouling influences your POI?
I clean the barrel after about 20 shots or so. I run my bore snake through 2 or 3 times and call it good. I'm not sure how much fouling affects accuracy, to be honest. Someone with more experience than me can probably answer that. Thanks for watching!
Understood sir. I'm new to all this long range precision shooting and am trying to grasp all the nuances. I appreciate the reply and enjoyed this video. 👍🇺🇸
Dude that group was phenomenal!! Awesome video right there! I just picked up some Barnes VLC 50 grain bullets and I may barrow that charge you came up with and see how they do in my ar15 ;)
Thanks, LBJ! The charge I used during the shooting was 23.6gr of Ramshot X-Terminator. The 23.8gr of Varget was for a 75gr ELD bullet. For those 50 grainers, I had awesome luck with X-Terminator and that has always been my go-to load. I loaded more 75 grainers today with Varget, 5 each of 23.4,23.5,23.6,23.7 grains. I'm trying to find that accuracy node again with that new bottle. Let me know how those Barnes bullets work man!

Does the powder stick to your metal scale pan? Mine is plastic and the powder sticks...kind of a pain

Yes the dryer sheets work 👍👍🇺🇸🤓
Nice vid to dial it in as I wish I had the patience to perservere and follow thru like that....Good stuff...
I have plenty of patience when developing loads, because that means shooting more 😁 Thanks, Scott!
@@TinManReloading Very good point....

What kind of case trimmer is that?
Thats a Lyman case prep center using the Lee case length gauges for 223.
Thank You Sir! The fire formed brass cartridges are more accurate with all else consistent. Cheers!

Great vid and groups. Now you can test that load on some varmints👍🏻😬
Thanks, Georgiaboy. If I sees them, they're goners. Might even put a unicorn horn in their heads if I do 😂😂👍🇺🇸
Now you can take out some chucks with that load .
I'd love to see what that bullet would do to a chuck or a squirrel! 3000 fps oughtta do the job 🤣 Thanks, James!
That is a nice range you cut that with the snapper
Great video buddy I never mix old with new powder of same brand if I have a little left not enough to make a load I throw it out 😁👍👍
Thanks, Julio! I wont be doing that again, lol. Lesson learned!
Im suprised that different lots can be so different. I figured they would keep things consistent kind of like big pharma meds...
Well done Mr Tinman!
Thanks, Uncle John 👍🇺🇸
Do you use the resizing die?
For a semi auto gun, yes. For a bolt action, sometimes. It depends if it needs to be full length sized or just neck sized.
