    Does the powder stick to your metal scale pan? Mine is plastic and the powder sticks...kind of a pain

    • @TinManReloading
      @TinManReloading  5 лет назад +1

      It doesnt stick to the metal pans. I've never used a plastic one, but have you tried cleaning it really well and rubbing it with a dryer sheet to reduce static electricity?

    0.7" @200 yards? AWESOME! I'm also doing a similar thing with my 6.5 Grendel. I've loaded up some ladder charges using fire-formed and new brass, and I'll be comparing velocities and groups. I should be doing this next weekend, during the Holiday. Great video, my friend

    • @TinManReloading
      @TinManReloading  5 лет назад

      Thanks, Jerry! I couldn't believe the difference it made. My jaw dropped when I walked up to the target. I'd be interested to see your results man. I did my ladder charges using range brass and once I found a node with that, I used that charge for the test. Wish it would have worked out with the 75gr bullets, I had two range trips worth of footage that was a failure because of the new bottle of powder I bought 😂

      @Jerry-dk8se 5 лет назад +2

      @@TinManReloading I still have about 75 new cases that I need to fire form, and I thought this comparison would be a good opportunity to demonstrate the differences between new and fire-form. Since you brought up the subject first, I'll make sure to give a shout out to you, because I try not to plagiarize my friends.

    Nice test TinMan. What do you use to get the group size graphics?

    • @TinManReloading
      @TinManReloading  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks, Ghost Rider! That is an app called Range Buddy. It's free on Google Play store but I've been told it's like, $20 on Apple store. You take a picture of your target, set a reference size of something in the picture (I used a 2" sticker), put in your distance and bullet diameter, and mark your shots.

      @@TinManReloading I'm dumb when it comes to phones. Is it safe to allow access to photos, media and files?

    • @TinManReloading
      @TinManReloading  5 лет назад +1

      @@GhostRiderUSA Yes, you have to allow access so the app can take pictures and/or access pictures you've already taken. It can be kinda tough to figure out how to use it, so if you need any help navigating through it lemme know. There might be a tutorial vid on YT. Took me a while to figure all the buttons out.

  • @YTsux24-7
    @YTsux24-7 5 лет назад +1

    That was a huge difference in spread for the fire formed brass. Do you clean the barrel between tests? If not, how much do you believe barrel fouling influences your POI?

    • @TinManReloading
      @TinManReloading  5 лет назад +1

      I clean the barrel after about 20 shots or so. I run my bore snake through 2 or 3 times and call it good. I'm not sure how much fouling affects accuracy, to be honest. Someone with more experience than me can probably answer that. Thanks for watching!

      For a semi auto gun, yes. For a bolt action, sometimes. It depends if it needs to be full length sized or just neck sized.

    Dude that group was phenomenal!! Awesome video right there! I just picked up some Barnes VLC 50 grain bullets and I may barrow that charge you came up with and see how they do in my ar15 ;)

    • @TinManReloading
      @TinManReloading  5 лет назад

      Thanks, LBJ! The charge I used during the shooting was 23.6gr of Ramshot X-Terminator. The 23.8gr of Varget was for a 75gr ELD bullet. For those 50 grainers, I had awesome luck with X-Terminator and that has always been my go-to load. I loaded more 75 grainers today with Varget, 5 each of 23.4,23.5,23.6,23.7 grains. I'm trying to find that accuracy node again with that new bottle. Let me know how those Barnes bullets work man!
