With, what, 6 seconds left and Lakers with possession after a time out, Warriors should have had defensive players like TJD and Anderson on the floor giving them some size around the rim. This would have forced an outside shot that would have been at the very least, a lower percentage shot. A freakin' layup is unacceptable, though. D-up!!

I think it's a good thing. Kerr May be able to coach a 20 game losing stretch this season. I have faith in Kerr. That will force the owners to blow it up. Or?? The Lakers aren't even a good defensive team. They don't even have a POA defender and their primary defender is Anthony Davis which wasn't present majority of the game. Kerr yet went small after AD got subbed out. Curry was 90% of the time played as an off ball shooting guard decoy doing cardio running around the floor. This is the same as last year, just replace CP3 with Schroder and its the exact same lineup/strat that Kerr did last year. CP3/Schroder as the PG, Curry as a glorifed JJ Reddick catch and shoot SG decoy.

Why is Podz getting so many minutes? He can't shoot a lick. The guy air-balled a freaking 4ft floater. Who does that? He should be moved to the G-League. But Kyle, Moses, and Lindy get DNP's. GP2 gets 6 minutes, Looney gets 5 minutes, and Buddy gets 17 minutes. The coach is playing his son---so to speak---at the expense of playing better players.
If he must play, then sit Buddy and get Slo-Mo in there. Either Podz or Buddy must sit - they should not be on the floor at the same time as Schroder or Curry

A Christmas game Curry finally scores more than 15pts, bizarre Curry-esque 3pt performance, AD injured at the start, it was a game that was winnable. I cant blame Wiggs for thr last play - not the best defensive effort but what they really needed was paint presence. Kerr needs to stop with this small ball lineup. Even an AD-less Lakers team is telling him its a bad set!!

Starting lineup was ok. Our eyes were already rolling when AD was subbed out, Kerr also subbed out TJD and went small. Not only that, they consistently played Steph as the SG and played the off ball decoy. The same strategy they used vs Memphis and Pacers which resulted in a loss. They also consistently lost the rebound battle due to TJD/Looney missing and going small.
@@keidmaster It worked for him in the finals vs Cleveland previously when they went small. Kerr was praised for it and kept doing it. He likes to be different rather than be known for winning. Since he knew MJ he should've taken some pointers from MJ doing everything to win rather than doing what he wants to look different.
i Called Kerr a trash coach in 2020 when he had no Curry or Klay... you get to see if a coach is for real when they can be decent on a trash team, we saw this with Nick Nurse and few other coaches who did good enough with lacking talent like Greg... Kerr is a locker-room cancer always out to get his least favored players and this includes Curry, anyone who thinks Kerr like Curry out their minds, name once where Kerr put Curry in a position to win and shine cause every time Curry gets hot, he gets sat.... every time!

I thought AD going out could have helped but I realized that Kerr would just use that as an excuse to go small. I was wondering when he’d play Kyle, which never happened- and as frustrating as the final defensive play was, I was asking where the rim protection was. They didn’t even use their best defensive lineup. All I saw from warriors fans was people hating on Wiggins, who actually had a pretty good game - and it was not his fault Kerr did not have any rim protection in - but the average fan doesn’t seem to actually watch the games and they never even question Kerr’s decisions. I’m not saying I can be a coach or that I know more than Kerr (I can’t and I don’t) - but I have really noticed Kerr’s issues and poor decision making ever since Mike Brown left. However, they finally showed real life early this year and I thought it was sustainable because they were winning without having to completely rely on Steph to score 30+ every night. They were playing great team defense and the ball movement was great - then Steve starts going back to his 3+ guard lineups and totally disregarding the defensive side of the ball (and as you said, it’s not even helping the offense anyway)
Beginning of the year was all Stotts and Stack. Dude literally got jealous and scrapped it all. Kerr is evil and your observations are spot on - even if you don't believe you're a coach, being able to identify patterns is still real, and your observation of his nonsensical decisions are real

Kerr has a lot of people fooled, and I think a lot of fans that don’t watch the games very closely just think they will always sound intelligent by supporting Kerr 100% of the time. I hope Steph will realize that Kerr will not help him to get another championship- and that he does not owe Kerr anything- Kerr owes all of his accolades to Steph and Steph needs to speak up. Been saying this for years, Kerr made the players look bad. He hates big. If we can recall last time when Mcgee saved the Warriors to win. Now hes been struggling for the past couple weeks and were losing close games as a result. If Buddy played close to that previous level, we might be winning some of those close ones. No one else on the team can shoot consistently outside of Steph. No ONE!! This roster is overrated. Kuminga is missing open shots in big moments. This season has felt as though Kerr is trying his best to lower Kuminga's value so the team can re sign him for less. He's always kind of sneak dissing him, quick to pull him off the floor, won't even play him when he's good and refuses to put him in with lineups where he thrives. Similar odd thing is going on with TJD--I think they're limiting him because the reality is that TJD is already more productive than Draymond, and if they made the minutes reflect this, the question would become... "Do we even need Draymond" Most of the team's turnovers involve Curry or Draymond and my theory is that the noise of their two man game breaks up the offensive scheme enough to lead to those missed passes and soft passes that are easy to pick off. On top of that, curry and draymond have been awful at protecting the ball recently.
Kuminga's fault too as he followed Rui out of bounds. What is Rui going to do out of bounds?! Common sense should have told Kuminga that there was a reason Rui was out of bounds -- to give space for Reeves. This means Kuminga may have the physical gift for the game but not the mental one. See how in the slow mo Green knew what Reeves was about to do and had presence of mind to try to race past Lebron to stop Reeves while also blocking Lebron.... Kuminga should have known that Reeves had no chance to pass that ball with no time left. If Kuminga didn't follow Rui out of bounds, he could have provided intimidation against Reeves. Still, you are right. Taylor Jackson should have been in there instead of Kuminga. I would say trade Kuminga and Wiggins and another key player for one big -- or even one real power forward. Only chance of Warriors to have a fighting chance is to get a big center but we've been here. Kerr had bigs before -- DeMarcus Cousins but he got injured; they brought back Bogut from Australia but he's not the same player anymore. They had Magee but he couldn't play for more than 30 minutes, although he was effective. I think it all started going downhill for Warriors when they hang on to Wiseman for far too long, hoping he will develop but didn't. Also they had a chance of choosing Edwards of Minnesota in draft but they chose Wiseman. Curry has to speak up now and tell management he will leave if they don't make dramatic changes. As for Kerr, when defensive coach Brown left Warriors for Sacramento, Warriors has never been the same. Kerr knows offense but lacks defensive mindset; he needs a defensive minded coach like Brown to assist him; if he doesn't do it, he may eventually need to go.
No hate on Podz, but I've always felt like Kerr prefers him over all the other young guys and is sneakily trying to develop him fast so the team won't be able to trade him. He likes his character over pretty much all the other young guys and its silly really. It's put Podz in an awkward situation.

As opposed to the marked lack of joy happening with the Warriors. They all seem some combination of angry, frustrated, depressed, confused, worn-down, worn-out and/or fed up. It’s remarkable. And so sad. Did you see Steph’s demeanor during his furious fourth quarter attempt to save us? He didnt seem to have joy or team connectivity fueling him. I gotta disagree about selling on Kuminga though. There's no other player they could get now that moves the needle and Curry is declining. He probably needs to play 28 a night and skew most of that in the 3rd/4th. Kuminga is better than he looks out there. He's shown flashes that, given the opportunity he will now (1) defend better and (2) play better on offense. Once they picked up Schroeder it should have become obvious that they don't need Podz anymore. It could be argued that they should also move off draymond now that they have slowmo... I'm also suspicious of how they're using Looney. He's way better on offense this season, but they don't use him at all. I'd argue that we have all the personnel (save for a real center) and as a result should be way better than we have been. It's all coaching deficiencies. I've noticed they stopped playing that blitzing defense, so they probably need to either go back to that or trade to upgrade their size.

When I played the smaller guys were quicker , faster jumping and fasting passing to get open team looks. I think they just don't play together well and maybe not as smart as say Chris Paul ? Your thoughts ? I'm only talking about offense, of course it's bad on defense against bigger players.
They've no freedom in Kerr's offense, and because there is only one big and a fake PF, there aren't enough screens to provide the spacing the little guys need to get easier buckets, so everything is a tough contested shot away from the rim
Honestly, Unfortunately I think we need a few very bad seasons before Kerr is let go. Even if we are terrible this season and next, I don’t see them moving on from Kerr that quickly. Sad to see.

The Lakers aren't even a good defensive team. They don't even have a POA defender and their primary defender is Anthony Davis which wasn't present majority of the game. Kerr yet went small after AD got subbed out. Curry was 90% of the time played as an off ball shooting guard decoy doing cardio running around the floor. This is the same as last year, just replace CP3 with Schroder and its the exact same lineup/strat that Kerr did last year. CP3/Schroder as the PG, Curry as a glorifed JJ Reddick catch and shoot SG decoy.

Why is Podz getting so many minutes? He can't shoot a lick. The guy air-balled a freaking 4ft floater. Who does that? He should be moved to the G-League. But Kyle, Moses, and Lindy get DNP's. GP2 gets 6 minutes, Looney gets 5 minutes, and Buddy gets 17 minutes. The coach is playing his son---so to speak---at the expense of playing better players.
If he must play, then sit Buddy and get Slo-Mo in there. Either Podz or Buddy must sit - they should not be on the floor at the same time as Schroder or Curry

A Christmas game Curry finally scores more than 15pts, bizarre Curry-esque 3pt performance, AD injured at the start, it was a game that was winnable. I cant blame Wiggs for thr last play - not the best defensive effort but what they really needed was paint presence. Kerr needs to stop with this small ball lineup. Even an AD-less Lakers team is telling him its a bad set!!

Starting lineup was ok. Our eyes were already rolling when AD was subbed out, Kerr also subbed out TJD and went small. Not only that, they consistently played Steph as the SG and played the off ball decoy. The same strategy they used vs Memphis and Pacers which resulted in a loss. They also consistently lost the rebound battle due to TJD/Looney missing and going small.
I dont get Kerr's love affair with the small lineup. Like what is it that makes it so fascinating to him?
@@keidmaster It worked for him in the finals vs Cleveland previously when they went small. Kerr was praised for it and kept doing it. He likes to be different rather than be known for winning. Since he knew MJ he should've taken some pointers from MJ doing everything to win rather than doing what he wants to look different.

Oh jim one thing ... I recommend in the middle of the video remind us to press the like button. A lot of times i just don't press it because I'm not reminded to think about it. Reminding us helps this get out to more people.
I thought AD going out could have helped but I realized that Kerr would just use that as an excuse to go small.
I was wondering when he’d play Kyle, which never happened- and as frustrating as the final defensive play was, I was asking where the rim protection was. They didn’t even use their best defensive lineup. All I saw from warriors fans was people hating on Wiggins, who actually had a pretty good game - and it was not his fault Kerr did not have any rim protection in - but the average fan doesn’t seem to actually watch the games and they never even question Kerr’s decisions.
I’m not saying I can be a coach or that I know more than Kerr (I can’t and I don’t) - but I have really noticed Kerr’s issues and poor decision making ever since Mike Brown left. However, they finally showed real life early this year and I thought it was sustainable because they were winning without having to completely rely on Steph to score 30+ every night. They were playing great team defense and the ball movement was great - then Steve starts going back to his 3+ guard lineups and totally disregarding the defensive side of the ball (and as you said, it’s not even helping the offense anyway)
Beginning of the year was all Stotts and Stack. Dude literally got jealous and scrapped it all. Kerr is evil and your observations are spot on - even if you don't believe you're a coach, being able to identify patterns is still real, and your observation of his nonsensical decisions are real

Kerr has a lot of people fooled, and I think a lot of fans that don’t watch the games very closely just think they will always sound intelligent by supporting Kerr 100% of the time. I hope Steph will realize that Kerr will not help him to get another championship- and that he does not owe Kerr anything- Kerr owes all of his accolades to Steph and Steph needs to speak up. Been saying this for years, Kerr made the players look bad. He hates big. If we can recall last time when Mcgee saved the Warriors to win. Kerr keep pushing small line up and most teams knows this strategy. At the start of the season, we keep winning because he tried to play everybody and not just the selected small…

Now hes been struggling for the past couple weeks and were losing close games as a result. If Buddy played close to that previous level, we might be winning some of those close ones. No one else on the team can shoot consistently outside of Steph. No ONE!! This roster is overrated. Kuminga is missing open shots in big moments. No pure shooters on this team outside of Steph and Hield but Buddy is struggling bad.
What is Steve supposed to do? Play bigger lineups, ditch small ball, more PnR, less Podz. It's not that hard 😅

I understand Joe Lacob don’t wanna end up like franchises like the Clippers and Nets that sign these superstars who’s been having injury problems such as Paul George, James Hardin, Kawhi Leonard so he’s trying to see can he pull something off with some younger guys. It’s just not working with these kids they’re not ready. This season has felt as though Kerr is trying his best to lower Kuminga's value so the team can re sign him for less. He's always kind of sneak dissing him, quick to pull him off the floor, won't even play him when he's good and refuses to put him in with lineups where he thrives. Similar odd thing is going on with TJD--I think they're limiting him because the reality is that TJD is already more productive than Draymond, and if they made the minutes reflect this, the question would become... "Do we even need Draymond"
Most of the team's turnovers involve Curry or Draymond and my theory is that the noise of their two man game breaks up the offensive scheme enough to lead to those missed passes and soft passes that are easy to pick off. On top of that, curry and draymond have been awful at protecting the ball recently.

Kuminga's fault too as he followed Rui out of bounds. What is Rui going to do out of bounds?! Common sense should have told Kuminga that there was a reason Rui was out of bounds -- to give space for Reeves. This means Kuminga may have the physical gift for the game but not the mental one. See how in the slow mo Green knew what Reeves was about to do and had presence of mind to try to race past Lebron to stop Reeves while also blocking Lebron....
Kuminga should have known that Reeves had no chance to pass that ball with no time left. If Kuminga didn't follow Rui out of bounds, he could have provided intimidation against Reeves. Still, you are right. Taylor Jackson should have been in there instead of Kuminga. I would say trade Kuminga and Wiggins and another key player for one big -- or even one real power forward.
Only chance of Warriors to have a fighting chance is to get a big center but we've been here. Kerr had bigs before -- DeMarcus Cousins but he got injured; they brought back Bogut from Australia but he's not the same player anymore. They had Magee but he couldn't play for more than 30 minutes, although he was effective. I think it all started going downhill for Warriors when they hang on to Wiseman for far too long, hoping he will develop but didn't. Also they had a chance of choosing Edwards of Minnesota in draft but they chose Wiseman.
Curry has to speak up now and tell management he will leave if they don't make dramatic changes. As for Kerr, when defensive coach Brown left Warriors for Sacramento, Warriors has never been the same. Kerr knows offense but lacks defensive mindset; he needs a defensive minded coach like Brown to assist him; if he doesn't do it, he may eventually need to go.
This is why I keep saying he's not a PF
Aside from the terrible coaching, the home crowd was weak, you can definitely tell the difference between the two arenas…

Let me tell you how dumb Steve Kerr is on the Christmas game last night he had 1 more time out he could of called it in put Tracy or the powerful foward in to stop Reeves he know Wiggins to weak to stop anybody they could of doubled team him, It seem like to me every since Mike Brown left and Melton got hurt that team went to the bottom of the barrel. I told yall if Steve Kerr could he will put all 5 small point guards on the floor. Be honest with you I dont know how Steve Kerr get that job when Micheal Jordan was the head of his team making them Win.

Jim, congratulations on your impending fatherhood. That’s great news. Plus, you’ll have something joyous to look forward to in the new year. As opposed to the marked lack of joy happening with the Warriors. They all seem some combination of angry, frustrated, depressed, confused, worn-down, worn-out and/or fed up. It’s remarkable. And so sad. Did you see Steph’s demeanor during his furious fourth quarter attempt to save us? He didnt seem to have joy or team connectivity fueling him. And I’ve never seen him walk off the court like that, win or lose. It looked to me, as he was scoring those 13 points, like he was fed-up and disheartened. Somethings got to give. And yes, I’ve gotten to think of Lacob as having caught the Jerry Jones syndrome. Damn. Wish someone in my circle was having a baby.🥴

I gotta disagree about selling on Kuminga though. There's no other player they could get now that moves the needle and Curry is declining. He probably needs to play 28 a night and skew most of that in the 3rd/4th.
Kuminga is better than he looks out there. He's shown flashes that, given the opportunity he will now (1) defend better and (2) play better on offense. Once they picked up Schroeder it should have become obvious that they don't need Podz anymore. It could be argued that they should also move off draymond now that they have slowmo...
I'm also suspicious of how they're using Looney. He's way better on offense this season, but they don't use him at all. I'd argue that we have all the personnel (save for a real center) and as a result should be way better than we have been. It's all coaching deficiencies. I've noticed they stopped playing that blitzing defense, so they probably need to either go back to that or trade to upgrade their size.
I don't mind the disagreement and he did get better - it's just still not championship-caliber to me is all

Merry Christmas Jim , congrats to you and your wife ! Again it’s a reoccurring theme , frustrating loss in the 4th quarter ! We keep playing these small lineups which results in poor match ups and stagnant offense . Why has Kerr left Kyle Anderson on the bench ? Why does he keep putting
Podz out there persistently , when he provides absolutely NO offense . Kerr is absolutely atrocious asa HC . I can’t follow this team nor watch another frustrating loss. I already wasted time on the Niners and I will not continue to follow the Warriors. Again and again we are putting players in positions and situations in which they can’t excel !!! I’m done

Merry Xmas Jim and congrats on baby coming ! Can you explain why the 3 guard combos : Curry, Hield , Schroeder and Podz. can't score in crunch time ? When I played the smaller guys were quicker , faster jumping and fasting passing to get open team looks. I think they just don't play together well and maybe not as smart as say Chris Paul ? Your thoughts ?
I'm only talking about offense, of course it's bad on defense against bigger players.
They've no freedom in Kerr's offense, and because there is only one big and a fake PF, there aren't enough screens to provide the spacing the little guys need to get easier buckets, so everything is a tough contested shot away from the rim

Honestly, Unfortunately I think we need a few very bad seasons before Kerr is let go. Even if we are terrible this season and next, I don’t see them moving on from Kerr that quickly. Sad to see.
