I think it's time for me to have a Barbra Streisand movie marathon! What a career she's had, and what a beautiful soul she is!
I love all her films, but my favorite, FAVORITE one is *"The Mirror Has Two Faces."* I _highly_ recommend that one!
Barbra's voice is incomparable and so beautiful in range and emotion.
She must be one of the most wonderful and unique singers of all time.
She is. She is a miracle. Her voice is an instrument.
I can’t stand how much I love her.
I believe thst Stephen is one of only few people who could possibly, respectfully and intellectually interview Ms Streisand. What a genuine treat. Thanks to you both for allowing us this joy. I have tears of joy 🫶
CBS has a great interview too.
Why? shes such a pre-medonna being so sensitive about one small mistake, like who cares what the media says and why is she so special only one person in the world can interview her. holywood elite weirdo
Howard Stern interviewed her last week
It’s just shit.
Love you both!
I like this girl, because she's been the captain of her ship since she was young. She's authentic and real and makes no apologies for who she is. She sees herself as the girl next door. I'm reading her book and I'm just getting into listening to her music. Thank you for sharing, your life with us.
I love Barbra Streisand. She is the most iconic, gifted and talented singer, actress, songwriter, concert and movie producer, concert and movie director, filmmaker and an author. She is a legendary and a truly DIVA.😍
There was a commercial being done in Central Park with Stephen years ago, just as his star was rising. They needed a portrait artist to draw him. I was chosen.
I can tell you he was polite, warm, and charming. He's a classic case of "what you see is what you get". I have no doubt Barbra enjoyed her time with him.
What a pleasure that must have been. Congratulations 👏👏
Barbra is the only artist ever who has received the Directors Guild of America, Academy Award, Golden Globe, National Medal of Arts, and Peabody awards, as well as France's Légion d'Honneur and the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award
And the Kennedy Center Honors, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
I think she may have a Grammy or two as well
@@jalabi99 10 :)
I adore Barbra Streisand but the best part was Evie’s off camera “yes!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️❤️
I started taking classical voice lessons in 1979 and I remember my teacher, while teaching me how to hear proper tone, played Streisand records for me. She noted that she was the ONLY person on popular radio who sang using proper tone, phrasing, and breathing. She is a living treasure❣️❣️❣️
She has such a pure, beautiful voice.
What a fantastic show devoted to interviewing a true living legend. What an honor to you Stephen that Ms Streisand chose you to have this rare conversation with. Meshugina is great word
Not really part of her audience, but just a single line from 'Memories' and it hits right in the feels. One of the greatest songs sung just perfectly.
Wow ❤ she is so wise, beautiful, funny, charming, incredibly talented and extremely exquisite.
I’ve loved you for a long time Barbra Streisand. I’ve watched all of your movies and I have aMuch respect for you thank you for telling it like it is
Thank you or doing this interview! I've been a fan of Barbra Streisand since I was a little kid. For Jewish girls my age, she was our Jackie Robinson. She will always be a touchstone.
So happy “she” wrote her story! So misunderstood and unappreciated! Your natural treasure USA!
She has the most beautiful hands. I've always said that. Love her ❤
Like butter
I am overwhelmed with this amazing interview with THE Barbra Streisand! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
And yet, *the highlight for me was hearing Evie's voice at the end!* 🤗🥰
I adore Barbra. Extraordinary in every way. I also love that Evie was there on speaker. Stephen: “Am I stubborn?” Evie: No hesitation, “Yes!”😂
Yess, more Stephen and Barbra, pleeeease 😊. I like that he doesn‘t take it too seriously but at the same time is very respectful. As he should be 🧐😉
Stephen Colbert is the only one who has the approval of interviewing Barbra Streisand. Both amazing 💫
I was going to write the same thing .
Your world.
She's been doing interviews all week promoting this book
As well as Gayle King and Howard Stern, and...
Howard Stern was very good he treated her so good!
I can't believe Evie Colbert was in Arizona and I didn't get to accidentally bump into her and let her know how she makes me smile!!! I KNOW y'all enjoyed Sedona, it's magically gorgeous.
She looks great for 80. Her message and her humanity. What a great career, life!
She's actually 81. Spectacular entertainer.
Wow I didn’t know she was 81, I see she has had a face lift etc but who cares she is beautiful 😍
Actually she's 81
So great! The comedic moments are classic! and the poignant ones are memorable.
Great book - amazing how much work goes into making movies.
There are four `A Star is Born` movies, and her and Kris Kristofferson is my favorite. Great movie and the soundtrack is timeless. Beautiful soundtrack.
Her version was gut-wrenching, wasn't it.
Not many people can make you emotionally feel like them, but Barbra has the ability to let us hear her feel like us.. And for this goy and millions of others, Babs has had that talent from the beginning. All the best love to her and her family.
Respect to her for being her own person !! Strong woman. Not talking to the media - good for her .
I just finished her memoir. Excellent. It took awhile because it's very detailed, but well worth the time. She's amazing, a treasure. Love her.
So hilarious I only have watched Funny Girl once but HELLO DOLLY!!!!! I watch that every year with Yentl ❤❤
Barbra can make me miss musicals. A comedic, musical, dramatic icon of my youth. 💗💗💗
Barbara is so amazing and one of a kind!!!
Happy 30th you two lucky kids you!
Well done Barbra Streisand. ❤️💚💛💜💙🖤🧡
Love the interview Stephen! ❤ You guys are so adorable! hehe 🥰😍
"Evie, am I stubborn at all?" I died. That was hilarious.
What a privilege to meet Barbra and receive an interview. How can you ever top that?
😂 Knowing Evy was just off camera was great😂🎉
His only show worth watching. Love Barbra Streisand. Can’t wait to read her book. ❤ Been a avid fan since 11 yrs old
😍😍 loving this !
Imagine how much longer it woulda took to write that book without the pandemic!
I'm glad they numbered these segments. They should do that for all their interviews.
Barbra’s book is so heartfelt! I’m more than halfway through and I have so much more admiration and respect for the lady.
My favourite bit is Evie's 'yes' :D
This woman has a great voice do a lot of good things this woman is a legend ❤
I don't understand why the audience is laughing so much. Barbra Streisand did NOT write this book to be a joke, although she does address things using wit. She wrote it out of her earnest feeling that she needed to correct many things that have been incorrectly assumed about her as well as deliberately distorted . She also shares in this book many of her thoughts and feelings about her life, her delight in life and in wide ranging subjects, her creative process in just about any direction you would care to learn about it, she poured herself heart mind and soul into this book and it is quite rich in detail, and in praise for so many people she worked with. Where there is criticism it is muted and one has to admire her beautiful tenacity in life, in her art. Stephen is of course a comic and also a sincere person. I just want to reiterate Barbra Streisand is not a joke. She was and will always be a most serious artist and one who should be respected. This whole book and the audio as well are rich in commentary, and a living tapestry. It is unequalled in terms of memoir I think altogether. It is a beautiful gift and done with the generosity of spirit Barbra Streisand has always shown from the very beginning of her multifaceted career until now. She deserves more respect than this. And it is extraordinary that she shared so much of herself with readers. And not in a superficial manner.
Thos cut scenes between the segments were hilarious. "You don't think we got more Babs? THINK AGAIN." Lol.
Can we get a round of applause for the “Part 1” labeling of the vids? 👏👏👏🥳🥳🥳💞💞💞🤟🤟🤟
Thank you, Jimmy, for numbering multiple episodes
A remarkable interview opportunity!! Babs is a great catch! 👍
BARBRA ❤❤❤❤❤
Barbra and Stephen are both Taureans. I knew that about Barbra. I'm a triple Taurus! Outstanding company.
I always had a serious crush on Barbra in my youth after seeing "Hello Dolly". What's funny is, a few years ago, I discovered in a conversation with my brother that he also had a crush on Barbra after that viewing of the movie with our Mom. Great minds DO think alike. LOL
Fantastic Interview of the Legend that is Barbra. She is my biggest Actress influence. It’s my dream to work with her on a film. Thank you for this, Stephen and crew - it was beyond wonderful!
Barbra Streisand is the most ICONIC DIAMOND in the WORLD! ❤
I am listening to the book now. It is very thorough. She is telling her story, and not missing a beat. I love her music, but not really what you would call a fan. Her fans will love this.
I'm a Taurus, too! ♉️ I love the Taurus handshake!!! 😊 🦬
I loved the Barbra interview
🎉❤🎉When ❤
My perfect 🎄🎁❤
Awww...I LOVED her in Hello Dolly. She was truly iconic!!
The audio version is FANTASTIC!
This was so awesome, love Barbra Streisand, fabulous singer ❤
I love her so much and could listen to her all day.
Lol! My favorite YES” of this year! It was delightful to see Barbra again after all these years. Thank you so much for all of the lovely memories! Fan from Northern California.❤️🍀🌈🙏🏻😇❣️
She's a legend a beautiful singer and good actress God bless her ❤️
Yes finally! Thank you for putting in the sequence for these Barb videos!
❤I just love her❤Fantastic person❤the one and only❤love from Finland❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤LOVE TO BARBRA
This was the bandaid for my heart I didn't know I needed ❤❤❤
The best book I’ve read this year. The audiobook is amazing. I love hearing read.
She is still stunning! Holy....I love this woman so much.
Streisand appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s show within the last decade, and they even sang a formal duet together. She also appeared on Bill Maher’s show fairly recently to discuss current events. She doesn’t do many interviews, but Colbert is hardly the only one.
My name is Rebecca Jennifer, with all the credit for that going to Barbara Streisand and her song "Jenny Rebecca" ❤
I just love Barbra♥️
What a treat! Thanks.
Had no idea she spelled her name like that till now lol
I love that one Japanese song she is in, truly mettalic performance, love the chorus:
Bar-bura, Bar-bura,
ichiban kirai no hito.
Bar-bura, Bar-Bura,
hana ga ookii.
Bar-bura, Bar-bura,
sugoi na bitchu da.
Bar-bura, Bar-bura!
I was an extra in A Star Is Born movie. Looking from the stage, I'm the one on the left about halfway down the stadium.
Don't remember much about her. Just stood up on cue and clapped. Worth the price of admission. Lots of great bands that day up in Phoenix.
I’m listening to her read her autobio. She never forgets a perceived slight or any sense of personal injustice (to her). She is humourless and insensitive to there’s. Myopic and self serving at all times. That said, she is the voice of the 20c
First of all - it's just your impression. "She never forgets a perceived slight or any sense of personal injustice"? Aren't we all like that? Humourless? She is a comedian. People who've worked with her always say how funny she is, how down to earth, Watch her duet with Melissa McCarthy. Watch Meet the Fockers.
@@patricedecourcy4505 she was indeed a great comedienne (in her youth esp), but in her personal life she is humourless. All opinions are ‘personal’, but mine is based on having listened to her recite almost 50 hours of autobiography.
@@bojack40 I've listened to that book but my impression is different. Have you seen her interview with Howard Stern?
I was 13 years old and was on a pacific cruise with my parents and wanted to try out the cinema. Funny Girl was showing and I loved it (didn’t know who she was) 😮😊😂
Haha that's awesome, I'm a taurus too. Good to know I'm in good company of other taurean meshuganas 🤗🤘😄💯❤
Barbra is higher that a kite!
thank you for including which part is which ‼
Taurus here too 💕
He brought Evie with him!
alright im taurus too.. very stuberned 👍👍👍👍
Oh my goodness! They actually numbered the videos!
Omg I need to watch the rest of this interview. 😂
These interviews were a great idea.
Great interview. Very insightful
Extraordinary, other worldly talent is Ms Streisand. Stephen definitely has “chutzpah!”
She shouldn’t have done these interviews to be edited into six minute packages. The one with Howard Stern was the one where she said everything and got in depth. This was nice but the book is enormous, bigger than platitudes.
Agree. This was cut too much - that's why we hardly hear answers to his questions.
I love that Evie was there!!
🤣🫶🏾 As a Taurus I can confirm…we’re stubborn af. hahahaha
I was surprised the big interview was Barbara and was like...WHAT? But these turned out really funny and I'm glad Cobert beat everyone else to the mini mall 😁
All 3 segments....like buttah. ❤❤❤
R.I.P Luther Vandross 🕊🕊💚
Luther did vocal arrangements and backup singing for Barbra early in his career. Barbra was heavily influenced by the soulful sound of black singers like Dionne, Patti, and Gladys. ❤
We have the parts number now 😍
Imagine attending the Late Show screening that night just to watch a pre-taped interview on video....
It would be nice if someone interviewed Barbara and asked her why she and Donna never performed "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)" together live. That's a burning question Donna fans, at least, have. 🤔
Why? Streisand didn't perform so much in general. She likes recording, not performing.
Streisand, the great thinker of the 20th and the 20 First Centuries. We should all seek out her brilliant views on politics and the human condition. She's so well versed in both - she thinks Joe Biden is smart and has done a good job. Her only question is why isn't God solving the problems we humans have created for ourselves. Why hasn't He or She (whichever?) fixed the problems caused by human nature and turned this planet into a paradise. I'm amazed she hasn't solved these problems herself. God forbid we lose her if Trump is elected. Yeah, right
