I was around 3 women and a "man", and I sat quietly as they were all ranting of how toxic and oppressive men are. I was truly offended, but I make an effort to understand before I fully disagree. So I asked a question: What can a man say or do that is MANLY or reserved for MEN or considered MASCULINE that most women would not consider to be toxic?
Silence.
So I reframed the question: What about the four of you? Can the four of you agree on something that is not toxic when it pertains to men?
Within a matter of minutes they were arguing. The man said "opening the door", and that didn't end well. One woman said "fix stuff", and that didn't go well either.

I was having a conversation with a very close friend of over a decade one day. I was talking about what I look for in a serious relationship vs casual dating with modern women. I said nothing crazy, just the basic preferences and baseline standards we all know as modern men. She responded, "well that's misogynist".
So I asked her if she knew what the definition of misogynist was? She stuttered, she clearly had no idea.
So I asked her to look it up on her phone, after she read what it means, to her credit, she apologised to me.
Has anyone else experience something similar, let us know here in the comments?

Rather than further discussion about "toxic masculinity," we must condemn widespread toxic femininity, which has been on parade in society for the last few years: state power to keep us "safe" (lockdowns), material security over morality & common sense (the welfare state), the dominance of feelings over logic & language, the trust in government (the metaphoric parent), hypergamy & polygamy in relationships (which reduces men to their monetary value), vicious, tactical, anonymous gossip (social media, Moira Donegan, Taylor Lorenz, How To Destroy a Man, by Sally A. Owen), and lack of accountability ("rules for thee, but not for me" and refusal to acknowledge guilt in the face of plain evidence).
