    "progress is slow...and that's perfect!" Great comment. I stopped by to check on another ordinary Mojave Road video...but this one is "extraordinary!" The animations were great. The narration superior, and the flower identification on target. So nothing was done about the axle leak? I have a lot of chores to do, but the heck with that...I am off to look at part 2. Well done!

      Greetings rg, glad you liked the Mojave series, we enjoyed that trip immensely as well as working on the films. They are hard to find on RUclips being buried deep beneath the those of the competition. The axle leak was fine for months to come, it only revealed itself on a 70 mph highway on a very hot day. Fixed now with a 50cent O-ring while the expensive wheel bearing is still in storage. That Mojave desert is a magnificent place. Nice to see another person out there appreciating the desert for its details and not just ripping it up under aggressive off road tires. Cheers rg.

    I really do not understand how you don't have many more thousands of subscribers than you currently do. You're both extremely personable characters, the yarns you spin and the places you visit are most pleasant, interesting, and oft bear a second and third viewing and your production values are at least as good as the best of anything I have seen on this site. A genuine mystery.

      We do disappear, it usually takes around 4 months to make a video especially if it has any special effects stuff. Our computer is a 6 year old laptop connected to and external monitor because the one on the laptop died after an unfortunate incident involving a cat and a coffee cup. Slows things down a little bit more. Glad you liked the film.

    and an excellent way to start a brand new day (Well ok. So I only got here at 1:01 p.m. EST (+10 GMT= Coffs Harbour NSW Oz.) :)
    Now to watch, share & comment *post-watching.
    (*Post-watching is an aquired art, honed to a fine skill, over many decades invested {I could have said 'spent', but this sounds nicer} in wonderings and musings of many ponderances over "why am I here?" when out bush.
    Somewhat akin to wandering into the kitchen, opening the 'fridge and staring into oblivion, i.e. the 'fridge interior, wondering similar ponderances). :)

      Mister Foreman and Wilms, yet again you have conquered my once more-fertile imaginings, right from the start. That one powerful drum beat and graphics intro, together with choice of music is great. May I say the cartoon-like caricatures and animations are again gorgeous, yet different than some of the previous productions. :)
      Your style and content of presentations obviously finely honed over many candle-lengths of midnight oil & toil, with some good thought, and a fair dollop of Wilmsdom, mixed in with forthright Foremanisms Supreme.
      Cricket is indeed a Star. (y) :)
      Shared with much appreciation guys.

      Next week (Thursday 15th Feb) I depart Coffs Harbour NSW for Adelaide; via Armidale/Dubbo/Colane Station (due north of Nyngan; historic Cobb & Co staging post), Broken Hill. My Subaru Outback 1996 wagon is taking me on the Ghan to Darwin. After around 2 weeks in Darwin & surrounds, I'll wander off southwards. The Alice maybe 5-6 days (2 days at least at Glen Helen). Then loop road and through Coober Pedy to Woomera Village. Maybe nor-nor-east through Roxby Downs to Oodnadatta Track. Either turn north to William Creek, or straight down via Maree to south of Lyndhurst, where I hang a left (east) to come 'over the top' to come down the east side to Wilpeena Pound. This way I get both Woomera & Wilpeena, as well as part of the Oodnadatta track.
      Adelaide a few days then through Victoria (Maybe follow the 'new' silo artwork route) to Echuca, then Deni (Deniliquin), Wagga, Temora, Young, Forbes, Parkes, Bathurst Blaxland (Visit 2nd eldest brother a few days, + various 'Sydney' friends etc). Central coast where eldest brother stay enables further friend etc catchups, before finally home to Toormina. 2 1/2 months all up approx. Camping out in Subaru. Left Darwin 27 Oct 1987 so really looking forward to this sojourn. :)
      If you've managed to follow this circuitous ramblings to here, well done!. :)
      Thankyou for all of your videoings and all that that entails. Enjoyed thoroughly.
      As the Outback, unlike Unimogs, tends to like the ground more (almost hugs at times!), I will need to be abreast of weather/local road conditions etc. So may need to resort to an occasional "Plan B". But never resort to a resort, except the first six days in Darwin (Staying at the olde Darwin Hotel site).
      Take care guys. Any plans on returning to Oz?.

      I’m sure we’ll make it back to the great southern land at some stage. That is an awesome trip your doing. I lived in Darwin for 4 years and Alice for 6. Loved it and wandered through many of the places you mentioned. Take your time.

      Left Sydney around May 1981 I started on the big clockwise run. I'd combined long service leave plus a month's annual leave. Ended up staying in Darwin & working for NT Public Works as an electrical Draughtsman. In Sydney I'd had 12 years at the Redfern Mail Exchange so quite a lot of industrial electrical/electronics (started in Deniliquin as a PMG Telecom Tech). During 6 year in Darwin had 14 months in The Alice. Nearly settled there. Scored a job at Pine Gap but turned it down before they told me anything about it. Otherwise I would now be dead. Am sending you a facebook PM with pic. Yep will be taking my time.
      Take care guys.

Easily done in two days but if you like a more leisurely pace then add on a few more.

    It is an entertaining video, but did you really take a long hike to go the 100 feet from your campsite in Picture Canyon up to the petroglyphs in Picture Canyon?

    • @ForemanAndWilmsAdventures
      @ForemanAndWilmsAdventures  6 лет назад

      Greetings Mike. Picture canyon is blocked off to vehicle entry. From where we were camped it’s 3 miles across to the petroglyphs. The terrain around the dead mountains can look all the same from the perspective of a video.

    • @miker7933
      @miker7933 6 лет назад

      OOPS, I must have got bad info. When I was parked in the area where you camped, we walked up the rocks a short way to the petroglyphs, and talked to a caravan of people who had driven down to the petroglyphs from further west on Mojave Road. They told me that where we were was Picture Canyon. Did you go on up around the corner from where you were at 11:35 in the video and see those petroglyphs?

    • @ForemanAndWilmsAdventures
      @ForemanAndWilmsAdventures  6 лет назад

      That spot I think is called granite soak and many places through that desert that have Springs also have petroglyphs. Picture canyon is that large water course you can see on google earth south of granite soak. The Mojave road starts on this water course at the needles hwy but due to impassable terrain deviates off to the north skirting around the edge of the dead mountains. We camped out there for 4 nights waiting for parts in Laughlin so we got somewhat familiar with the area.

      Hey there Pajman. Pets are allowed on leash in public areas in the NP but not usually on the trails or back country. Most of the Mojave is what’s called BLM or public land. Rattle snakes are probably the main trouble but our little hound so far hasn’t harassed wildlife. Hopefully it stays that way.

    The bastard of the Cristovao Colombo (Venetian father and Portuguese mother) was born on the island of Madeira, Portugal (yes, HE was Portuguese and not Italian) in the service of the Spaniards (after being refused by the Portuguese) with the intention of discovering Europe's maritime route to INDIA! He took the south / west direction, starting from the archipelago of the Canaries (at the time Portuguese, today it is Spanish) in an attempt to discover the sea way from Europe to INDIA! The Portuguese had already discovered land in this area, which is now called BRAZIL, but since there were no GPS or MAPS at the time, it was only a storm for Cristovao Colombo to stop in the northern hemisphere, he thought he had arrived in INDIA and called the people indigena that you have found of INDIOS, sometimes they are not Indians because INDIA is not there, right? Later, after a war between Portugal and Spain, it was necessary for a pope to intervene (7/7/1494), dividing the new world between the Portuguese and Spanish, Portugal remained with Brazil, Spain with the rest, later the Portuguese hired Italian to circumvent the new world Amerigo Vespucci, this continent today is called America because of him! The Indians are not Indians! the Portuguese were the first to arrive in Japan, China, Hawaii, Indonesia, TIMOR and AUSTRALIA, etc.! Of course, without forgetting INDIA, that's what they were looking for! They d id not limit themselves to circumvent the African continent until arriving in INDIA! And without GPS! Of course, that a small country like Portugal was a victim of piracy from England, France and Holland. BUT: HAPPY NEW YEAR!

    • @lonewolf3804
      @lonewolf3804 7 лет назад

      The Portuguese used a red flashlight (on the left side) with a green flashlight (on the left side) of their ships to see if the ships they encountered on the way were Portuguese or pirates! Today, all the ships in the world have the left side red light and the right side a green light! Since aviation was derived from the navy, all aircraft also have the same system! They were also the only ones to use the Cross of Christ in the sails of ships, out of respect only the Portuguese navy sailors still use the Cross of Christ in the sails of their sailing ships (especially their SAGRES school ship) Sagres. a city in the south of Portugal, where a maritime school was created (the first to be created on the planet), with the purpose of travel, adventure or conquests later found! Today, the Portuguese flag has the red color on the left (symbolizes the blood spilled in the conquests since 1143), the green color on the right side (symbolizes the green of hope and the color of the Atlantic) the five castles conquered the Arabs (who invaded the his territory) the five wounds of Jesus Christ on the cross (when they killed him), and a crown of laurels (like the Roman emperors)! Portugal is the second oldest country in Europe (founded in 1143), the oldest being the principality of Monaco. Spain is the third, being founded 32 years after Portugal.
