This is a beautiful wedding, congratulations to the bride and groom. I am not a JW but my husband is and I must say I am surprised how traditional this wedding is because it is my experience that the JW's make a point of not being like any other religion. Like I love beards and my husband had to shave his off when he became a JW and other things he had to change to become a JW. We were married in a Baptist church that we were members of and I still am an active member. I do not feel led to leave and become a JW. This summer we will have our 49th wedding anniversary. We have had many ups and downs especially over him leaving our church to become a JW. God has blessed us through it all and we love each other more today than ever. I am not strictly a Baptist, I am a sinner saved by Gods grace, Jesus my Savior.
@@davidesamuel Yes, I must add that he and his brother went to the Kingdom Hall off and on when they were kids. My sister in law and I did not know this before we were married to the twins. This all come to light when our second child was born and my mother in law said she would not be celebrating any more Christmas's because she had started going back to the Hall. I did not have a clue.. I believe my husband started studying with the JW's after his mother passed away so he will be able to see her again. That is my thought about why he left . I thank God for protecting my children, they are all grown with families of their own and they don't want anything to do with the JW's. His twin does not want anything to do with the JW's either. Go figure..

Hi I do not judge people , I am sorry for this people so sorry, they need prayers accusations will not work here. I’m happy I didn’t use the KH. My wife was baptized at the time and I wasn’t. I got baptized eventually, now we are out. But even when my wife and I were indoctrinated we didn’t want to use the KH anyways. Now that we look back we are so happy we didn’t. All our photos and ceremony took place in beautiful private place.

Just knowing that we got married by a JW Elder is bad enough(although, as a Human Being, This Elder was very loving genuinely. my mom is Jehovah witness and she says that Jehovah witnesses don't get depressed but with this situation of Coronavirus and I'm not meeting together and getting married and doing things together they will fall into the depression like the rest of the world.
As a former cult member I can say this is the worst most destructive thing I was ever a part of. So glad I left. They lie and tell their cult members to not ever look at or read anything that shows the horrible history of this cult.

The enthusiastic JW running the Bible study will then show a bunch of Bible quotes that suggests that a dead family member can come back and live in paradise with the grieving family member - and they fall for it hook, line, and sinker. The fact that you are now defending the JW's by claiming "we're clean and not hiding anything" tells us that their mind-control techniques are clearly working on you, and you've never bothered to do any research into the truth about "The Truth". When you watched this video and began reading the comments, did you immediately hear the voice of a Governing Body member saying that comments and videos on the internet are "Apostate Driven lies"? A normal person reading the comments and seeing a massive number of people saying the same thing would think "Wow, there seems to be a real problem here". An active JW has had to sit through hours of mind controlling talks, which immediately puts them on the defensive, but still believes that what all these commenters are saying is just Apostate Driven Lies, and doesn't need to be looked into. The fact that you wrote "we're clean and not hiding anything" tells us that you fall into the latter group of people I've described, as you CLEARLY have done ZERO research on this group that you defend. Try watching the new Oxygen documentary titled "The Witnesses". A highly respected journalist researched the JW's for years, and his documentary tells it like it is. Everything it says about the JW Org protecting pedophiles and mistreating victims of child sexual abuse is 100% accurate, and you deserve to know the truth - so please watch it. You can also visit the many, many, many RUclips channels that discuss the truths you need to hear. Try John Cedars channel, or JWVictims or exJW Analyzer or bridget fromAZ or True Faced, just to name a few. OR - type Australian Royal Commission into your search box, where you can watch the entire trial which contains very eye-raising testimony from Elders AND you can watch Geoffrey Jackson testify on behalf of the Governing Body. Everything he says are lies about the beliefs of JW's! He actually says - under oath, after placing his hand on his Silver Sword and swearing before God to tell the truth - that it would be presumptuous to assume that people in other religions won't be saved at Armageddon, and not just the JW's will be the only ones saved. We all know that one of the main tenants of the faith is that ONLY JW's will be the group that Jehovah will save and protect at Armageddon, so why does a Governing Body member swear to the opposite when on the stand at a Royal Commission inquiry? Watching the video of your Governing Body member is certainly not watching Apostate videos, so you aren't going against what they tell you not to do by watching it. I absolutely hope you do go and watch it, just so you have some real insight into what we are all talking about here. The JW Organization is definitely NOT clean or pure, and they ARE definitely hiding things. Did you know they have compiled a list of pedophiles within the Org, a database of names and what they've done to children, and they have been willing to pay a $4000 per day fine to the courts rather than hand over the database? Did you know that they spent over $3 million dollars paying that daily fine, and eventually paid off the victim in an undisclosed settlement in order to close down the case and cease the daily fine payments? These facts are well documented by the courts in California, and can also be found within the many appeals the JW has filed, all the way up to the Supreme Court, in order to protect their database. Very little research on your part will prove that what I say is true. Do this for yourself before you waste anymore time defending them or trying to convert others. Being a JW can ruin your life, your children's lives, your spouse's life, and you need to protect yourself and your family by realizing that this is truly a mind-control doomsday cult. We all understand how hard this can be, and coming to the realization can hurt - but there are so many people who have experienced horrors that you can't even possibly imagine, who are more than willing to help and support you. @@EasternStar22 I didn't expect to get a long reply, but I wasn't brainwashed into joining, I made a choice to invite fellow witnesses to my house. I have the freedom to be in my own house after service without being stalked, elders are also no intrusive in my life. The elders are not Jehovah, they're chosen by Jehovah to teach the Bible and prevent confusion. Being an elder is serious work, I'm already a baptized publisher and I can't even imagine myself having the responsibilities they have. My life is perfectly fine, none of your concern. Met my wife as well and we're thinking about kids, so I already have my life all set, and I have Jehovah to thank for it.

Just like I am concerned for the lives of the other 8.5 million JW's around the world. What makes my concern go even deeper is your comment about you thinking of having kids. For their sake, please don't. You didn't grow up a JW so you have absolutely NO idea how bad, how sad and lonely a child born into a JW family can feel. They will be faced with years of attending KH meetings, being told to sit still and be quiet, while some guy on the stage drones on and on, talking about horrible subjects like Armageddon, reminding them constantly that fire and stones will fall from heaven and kill everyone who isn't a baptized JW. The images of the last days are all over the Watchtower magazines, and those images will be embedded into their memory, causing them frequent nightmares while living in fear of what's to come. They will be ostracized at school, because they can't associate with non JW kids, unless they are preaching to them. They will have to leave the classroom for any student's birthday party, and all other holiday parties for Christmas or Thanksgiving or Halloween or Valentine's day, and the other kids will think your kid is a weirdo because of it. That's the reality of it - as kids don't do well when faced with someone who is vastly different than they are. You've also indicated that you are a Publisher - which means they've hooked you in to giving up free time, time that could be spent enjoying your life and your new wife, and instead go out in service for the Watchtower. It's a brilliant plan that the governing body came up with years ago. Keep the members busy, busy, busy, so that they have no time to sit back and think for themselves, and no time to hang out with friends because your old friends are now Bad Association. Why is this? It's simply because the WT wants to keep you busy and keep you away from people who might tell you that you've joined a cult. There is a well known video of one of the GB talking about how he has always said: "The better the University, the more dangerous it becomes". They say this because they know when a 17 or 18 year old goes away to college, the daily indoctrination will stop, and other kids will be able to explain the real truth about the truth, and those kids will wake up and leave the witnesses. That's why WT discourages advanced education! And that is why there are so many Elders who have a window washing day job. Besides, it's a whole lot easier to lie and connive and brainwash an uneducated person than it is to do these things to someone educated, who can see right through their BS! Lastly, you said that Elders are appointed by Jehovah. If that were true, then explain to me why so many of them are having to testify in court for covering up child sexual abuse, for not ever reporting it to the police, and worst of all - for being a pedophile themselves. Would Jehovah see these men as a perfect servant for Him? I think not. They are appointed because the organization has a need for new Elders, especially when they DF themselves because they've woken up. When one leaves, the other Elders look at the guys who are MS's and they pick one for the job. There is no Jehovah involved in their decision making. If you would have watched any of the Australian Royal Commission, Case #29, you would have been able to see this for yourself. Would you want a child of your own being exposed to a pedophile? Would you recognize the signs when a pedophile is present? Sadly, most JW parents are too busy to notice, meanwhile their child is being mentally and physically tormented, causing lifelong damage to their mind and body. At the Royal Commission, they learned of 1006 cases of Child Sexual Abuse that had NEVER been turned over to the police. That's 1006 pedophiles roaming freely; that's Lord knows how many children out there suffering at the hands of the 1006 pedophiles. That is 1006 pedophiles that the WT had records on, which they hid from the public, and did NOTHING about it. Would Jehovah truly choose an organization who does these things? NOPE! So again I urge you to do the research. Look into what you've joined. Stop believing everything you hear coming from the Elders or the Governing Body or the Watchtower articles, and start using your own common sense and reasoning. It's OK to admit that they pulled the wool over your eyes - you've just gotta get out there and learn the real truth and then stand up for yourself. This video was very timely for me. My father died yesterday and my mother died two years earlier. They were not Jehovah's Witnesses. But they applied bible principles to their marriage and family life. Marriage is a divine arrangement where two people become united as one. My husband and I who are Jehovah's Witnesses have also been married for a long time. There is no perfect marriage. But it is a wonderful thing to have your marriage mate who is also your best friend to grow old. To my Christian brother and sister continue to enjoy your marriage because it was built on the right foundation. Also we must continue to follow Jesus's step closely. This is a beautiful wedding, congratulations to the bride and groom. I am not a JW but my husband is and I must say I am surprised how traditional this wedding is because it is my experience that the JW's make a point of not being like any other religion. Like I love beards and my husband had to shave his off when he became a JW and other things he had to change to become a JW. We were married in a Baptist church that we were members of and I still am an active member. I do not feel led to leave and become a JW. This summer we will have our 49th wedding anniversary. We have had many ups and downs especially over him leaving our church to become a JW. God has blessed us through it all and we love each other more today than ever. I am not strictly a Baptist, I am a sinner saved by Gods grace, Jesus my Savior.

I did not have a clue.. I believe my husband started studying with the JW's after his mother passed away so he will be able to see her again. That is my thought about why he left . But even when my wife and I were indoctrinated we didn’t want to use the KH anyways. Now that we look back we are so happy we didn’t. my mom is Jehovah witness and she says that Jehovah witnesses don't get depressed but with this situation of Coronavirus and I'm not meeting together and getting married and doing things together they will fall into the depression like the rest of the world.

We all know that one of the main tenants of the faith is that ONLY JW's will be the group that Jehovah will save and protect at Armageddon, so why does a Governing Body member swear to the opposite when on the stand at a Royal Commission inquiry? Watching the video of your Governing Body member is certainly not watching Apostate videos, so you aren't going against what they tell you not to do by watching it. I absolutely hope you do go and watch it, just so you have some real insight into what we are all talking about here. The JW Organization is definitely NOT clean or pure, and they ARE definitely hiding things. Did you know they have compiled a list of pedophiles within the Org, a database of names and what they've done to children, and they have been willing to pay a $4000 per day fine to the courts rather than hand over the database? Did you know that they spent over $3 million dollars paying that daily fine, and eventually paid off the victim in an undisclosed settlement in order to close down the case and cease the daily fine payments? These facts are well documented by the courts in California, and can also be found within the many appeals the JW has filed, all the way up to the Supreme Court, in order to protect their database. Very little research on your part will prove that what I say is true. Do this for yourself before you waste anymore time defending them or trying to convert others. Being a JW can ruin your life, your children's lives, your spouse's life, and you need to protect yourself and your family by realizing that this is truly a mind-control doomsday cult. We all understand how hard this can be, and coming to the realization can hurt - but there are so many people who have experienced horrors that you can't even possibly imagine, who are more than willing to help and support you. @@EasternStar22 I didn't expect to get a long reply, but I wasn't brainwashed into joining, I made a choice to invite fellow witnesses to my house. I have the freedom to be in my own house after service without being stalked, elders are also no intrusive in my life. The elders are not Jehovah, they're chosen by Jehovah to teach the Bible and prevent confusion. Being an elder is serious work, I'm already a baptized publisher and I can't even imagine myself having the responsibilities they have.

For their sake, please don't. You didn't grow up a JW so you have absolutely NO idea how bad, how sad and lonely a child born into a JW family can feel. They will be faced with years of attending KH meetings, being told to sit still and be quiet, while some guy on the stage drones on and on, talking about horrible subjects like Armageddon, reminding them constantly that fire and stones will fall from heaven and kill everyone who isn't a baptized JW. The images of the last days are all over the Watchtower magazines, and those images will be embedded into their memory, causing them frequent nightmares while living in fear of what's to come. They will be ostracized at school, because they can't associate with non JW kids, unless they are preaching to them. They will have to leave the classroom for any student's birthday party, and all other holiday parties for Christmas or Thanksgiving or Halloween or Valentine's day, and the other kids will think your kid is a weirdo because of it. That's the reality of it - as kids don't do well when faced with someone who is vastly different than they are.
You've also indicated that you are a Publisher - which means they've hooked you in to giving up free time, time that could be spent enjoying your life and your new wife, and instead go out in service for the Watchtower. It's a brilliant plan that the governing body came up with years ago. Keep the members busy, busy, busy, so that they have no time to sit back and think for themselves, and no time to hang out with friends because your old friends are now Bad Association. Why is this? It's simply because the WT wants to keep you busy and keep you away from people who might tell you that you've joined a cult. There is a well known video of one of the GB talking about how he has always said: "The better the University, the more dangerous it becomes". They say this because they know when a 17 or 18 year old goes away to college, the daily indoctrination will stop, and other kids will be able to explain the real truth about the truth, and those kids will wake up and leave the witnesses. That's why WT discourages advanced education! And that is why there are so many Elders who have a window washing day job. Besides, it's a whole lot easier to lie and connive and brainwash an uneducated person than it is to do these things to someone educated, who can see right through their BS!
Lastly, you said that Elders are appointed by Jehovah. If that were true, then explain to me why so many of them are having to testify in court for covering up child sexual abuse, for not ever reporting it to the police, and worst of all - for being a pedophile themselves. Would Jehovah see these men as a perfect servant for Him? I think not. They are appointed because the organization has a need for new Elders, especially when they DF themselves because they've woken up. When one leaves, the other Elders look at the guys who are MS's and they pick one for the job. There is no Jehovah involved in their decision making. If you would have watched any of the Australian Royal Commission, Case #29, you would have been able to see this for yourself. It's appalling to hear the Elders talk about how they've handled reports of Child Sexual Assault, allowing the pedophile to remain an Elder or an upstanding member of the congregation, which continues to give him access to every child at the KH, and/or to take the child out in service, or to knock on people's doors which may have a child answering the door, putting every child he comes into contact with at risk. Would you want a child of your own being exposed to a pedophile? Would you recognize the signs when a pedophile is present? Sadly, most JW parents are too busy to notice, meanwhile their child is being mentally and physically tormented, causing lifelong damage to their mind and body. At the Royal Commission, they learned of 1006 cases of Child Sexual Abuse that had NEVER been turned over to the police. That's 1006 pedophiles roaming freely; that's Lord knows how many children out there suffering at the hands of the 1006 pedophiles. That is 1006 pedophiles that the WT had records on, which they hid from the public, and did NOTHING about it. Would Jehovah truly choose an organization who does these things? NOPE!
So again I urge you to do the research. Look into what you've joined. Stop believing everything you hear coming from the Elders or the Governing Body or the Watchtower articles, and start using your own common sense and reasoning. It's OK to admit that they pulled the wool over your eyes - you've just gotta get out there and learn the real truth and then stand up for yourself. I truly hope you do, because as a human being, I care about what other people are having to go through - even if they don't recognize that they are going through something at all!

I am an ex JW. I can't tell you the freedom I feel now that I'm out of the awful mind altering cult. Yes I feel freedom when I watch it , I still feel the heaviness when I watch this though, I wish I could open my parents eyes. I really miss my parents so much. They were my world. It is very hard to forgive what they cost me. I lost time with them, they didn't see me get married, or have my son. He is 12 now and my son questions me about them all the time. It truly is sad.

Actually it is. The husband is required to treat his wife as he would his own body. The sense is that your both a unit now, working together for your goals. So the husband is required to treat her with as much love and respect as she is to him.

This video was very timely for me. My father died yesterday and my mother died two years earlier. They were not Jehovah's Witnesses. But they applied bible principles to their marriage and family life. Marriage is a divine arrangement where two people become united as one. My husband and I who are Jehovah's Witnesses have also been married for a long time. There is no perfect marriage. But it is a wonderful thing to have your marriage mate who is also your best friend to grow old. To my Christian brother and sister continue to enjoy your marriage because it was built on the right foundation. Also we must continue to follow Jesus's step closely.
