    I wish they would do more Liu IDs. Not only to possibly see how it is innovated upon with the sub buffs/debuts, but because I feel like liu could probably get the first id with most if not all aoe attacks. Like, the whole point of the association is fighting a bunch of people at once, so why can no liu units yet fight multiple people at once

      Ishmael is balanced around fighting multiple people. It's just that instead of Mass Attacks (which only 2 IDs have and I want them to stay unique), she has On Kill effects

      I feel that burn in in a tricky spot. It can be used, it just doesn’t do much. Like tremor it doesn’t do much if anything on an enemy, even if its effects are activated. It’s also like bleed or rupture in the fact that it does real damage, it does do SOMETHING. I feel, like with tremor, they need to do something with it to make it viable beyond its original purpose. Tremor has been used to activate special effects like added rupture or extra damage in tandem with the usual stagger stuff. I feel burn needs a similar thing. Maybe something similar to sinking deluge. I pray for xiao and the crying children.

I mean one thing I could imagine is burn getting its own form of nails, whereas nails add bleed with the turn start, the burn version could add burn based on clashes. though just like with bleed that would just be the beginning of the innovation hopefully not all of it

      @@pining_tree6788 another idea I have is probably gonna be for the crying children, where they take no burn damage and apply burn on themselves. More self burn results in more damage to enemies. They’d also benefit from higher amounts of burn being present on enemies just like Liu ish. Unlike other effects which have several 000 ids, and just a good amount of ids in general, burn doesn’t have much. Now it’s just being left behind, even tremor feels like it has something to it now.

    My hope/assumption is that this season was the season of charge and pseudo-charge, and next season they'll explore more concepts like discard and the like after effectively finishing off W Corp. Sure, the Ish EGO has a little bit of Charge generation, but I hope that's a small perk and not a sign of things to come.

    Personally I absolutely love charge, as I am a massive fan of both R-Corp. and W-Corp. so personally I am very glad with this new revealed identity, gotta love them charges!
    -but I also like Liu, which as you yourself stated hasn't gotten much love, but you know which association also hasn't gotten any love?
    Shi, Shi Association
    Whereas Liu has gotten atleast some love in the form of a 000 and a 00 Identity, Liu hasn't gotten anything at all yet since launch
    So following the logic of cooling down on the charge units in favor of mirror worlds that haven't gotten much love, I'd say Shi is one of the ones who would deserve it the most
    Though let's be real, they'd just make poise function as self-charge haha
    Can't blame them, it's a good way to make gimmicks work without making it too complicated, this is a gacha after all, and on top of that it's also a project moon game so 90% of the players are illiterate

      Liu also has synergy with a bunch of EGOs, some being really good (both Capotes, ABS, all versions of FMF, the soups) and their IDs form a cohesive team while the Shi association is a bunch of headless masochistic chickens.

    2:36 from what I've read on reddit, Dongrang in real life was a national traitor who basically praised imperial japan back in WW2. Apparently some koreans were mad cause they made him sympathetic, but not enough to spark controversy and given what happened in august, if they made Dongrang a "playable" character in the form of an ID, things might've turned really bad, so they decided to avoid adding a Farmwatch ID to not spark yet another controversy.
    Other than that though, yeah, I am a little mad that the last ID of the season is WARP Yi Sang, a charge ID. Not even a story relevant ID. Like imagine if we got Sang Yi as an ID (but that might happen in Yi sang's second chapter where he confronts Gubo :totally not copium:)

      dongrang being empathic is what make him a good character writte but still consider morally horrible person; a kind like some collaborators of germany in Ww2 in countries like sweeden or nordict countries; they did what they did for fear or thought it was better than getting war; just at the end getting their punishment or a kind regretting but too late for it; a kind realistic take: morally horrible person that deserved their bad end but not a monster as it looks like.

    The gacha system works against the way PM designs things. Stuff like burn, tremor, etc could all stand for major reworks but since the game is a gacha, they likely can't really do that without running into legal trouble. I don't blame them focusing on charge and diet charge because it's consistent, good, and functional. Meanwhile on other statuses you run into a few issues
    1) Narrow scope. Tremor is bad about this. There's virtually no situation where you don't want to just stagger and finish the enemy off ASAP and if you design a fight where you NEED tremor to stagger it, you make every other archetype suffer in the pursuit of giving tremor a use case.
    2) Team and resource investment: Sinking solved this, but not in a healthy fashion. Slapping a sinking deluge on the other negative effects and calling it a day would work, but I don't feel like that's healthy or sustainable for the game. Rupture and poise basically requiring 5+ units and usually one to two EGOs to be used in the fight and probably also requiring UT4 on them is not attractive to a player in a game with limited resources. Getting a burn and rupture team together is a whole team affair. Sinking requires maybe three IDs and a single EGO. Charge DID suffer from this but uptie 4 budgeted the charge gain on most IDs to really not require telepole usage at all and telepole just turned it into a 'win more and win faster' deal.
    3) The Burn Section: I really like Liu and burn but, between the issues I outlined in 2 and also the simple fact that the content you actively engage with in this game as of right now has either the potential (MD2) or the absolute guarantee (RR2) to drop down the talisman doll in front of you to completely ruin everything a burn team would want to do is comically bad. They NEED more burn count IDs and maybe a way to force burn ticks so you can dip it more than once a turn.
    How do you fix this? I really only see two viable alternatives that would actually encourage people to change things up and, most importantly, not need to invest resources in a weaker niche (Like yeah we can just add uptie 5 and super buff the other status types but most people aren't going to waste even MORE resources on something like that and for the overall health of the game I find that to be just borrowing from Peter to pay John)
    A) Go the FGO route and add specific missions to buff specific IDs without an investment of thread or shards, or at least less than uptie requirements. This would let them fine tune underperforming IDs without performing sweeping system changes
    B) Allow people to come INTO fights with an EGO passive of their choice active without requiring them to use it. This is riskier, but the sooner they do it, the sooner they would be able to power budget and adjust EGO passives to not be problematic with the new system. Rupture would suddenly be much more attractive if you weren't using an unsustainable amount of EGO resources every major fight to turn on Ebony Stem Outis and DSang. This WOULD create a problem where Regret Meursault is suddenly required and turns Meursault into a monster, but, honestly, he deserves it.

    I'm in a weird situation, where I agree that it feels weird to have another W Corp ID so soon, but it bothers me not because of what W Corp's gimmick is, but rather the simple fact that there are other factions that haven't seen as much. Charge is fine, building up a resource to then spend it is fine.
    Somebody else has already mentioned that Shi hasn't gotten anything since launch, and I think that might be because unlike charge, PM realized that the "50% health" gimmick doesn't work as well when the ID's start at full health instead of having that 50% as their baseline. It feels to me like they're still trying to figure out what exactly to do with the Shi ID's going forward, seeing as we also haven't gotten any new Poise ID's since launch.
    Cinq and Dieci associations have exactly 1 character each, and aren't a story tied faction. They seem like they'd be pretty good candidates for new ID's.

      This got me to count up the number of IDs the larger "factions" have.
      W Corp: 5 (6 with Yi Sang)
      N Corp: 6
      Seven Association: 5
      Liu Association: 4
      Zwei Association: 4
      Kurokumo & Blade Lineage: 3 + 3
      R Corp: 3
      Rosespanner Workshop: 3
      Technology Liberation Front: 3/4 (3 LobCorp E.G.O, plus Spicebush Yi Sang)
      Shi Association: 3
      And after that we have some pairs and individuals and stuff. (Though interestingly the game groups Rosespanner, the TLF, and K Corp Hong Lu together in the Mirror Worlds section of the Theater, under "World of K Corp", which is 8 IDs total. They're quite varied, though, and not what most people would consider a single faction.) Maybe I'm overlooking another trio, but those are all the bigger groups at least.
      W Corp isn't actually that far ahead of the pack; until Yi Sang actually comes out they're still tied with Seven, another non-story faction, and are behind the story faction of N Corp and will tie them with this upcoming ID. I think people lumping them and R Corp (and sometimes Rosespanner despite this getting us two Meursault IDs) together makes them seem bigger than they are, but as-is, W Corp is tied for largest non-story faction but isn't miles ahead of the pack or anything. It wouldn't be hard for Liu or Zwei to catch back up with them, either, though Shi is lagging behind somewhat.
      If you break things down into groups like "Charge IDs", "Burn IDs", etc, then it becomes more imbalanced, though you also have to start crossing faction lines and get questions like how much an ID has to utilize a particular mechanic to "count" (like if LCB Hong Lu counts as a Rupture ID when only his Skill 2 has it, or if R Corp Heathcliff is really a Charge ID when he doesn't spend it and it's usually not the limiting factor for his passive), which is messier and would require more effort.

    I’ll be honest this is probably due to the “easy” to balance nature and idea of “charge” ids
    Like I hate to bring this up, but do people NOT see the issue with a lot of the damaging limbus effects right now? Theres a reason why count is so hard to up keep for a lot of effects, it’s so the game doesn’t break instantly when you can sinking deluge for 120000 damage ever other turn. Imo the “count” stacking and potency needs to be reworked in some way because it could lead to SUPER big balancing issues in the future.
    Meanwhile charge and tremor “inflicted” are a lot easier to balance around because
    1. The effects don’t deal damage they have to be “traded” or “popped” to actually do something with them.
    2. These effects are less of an “effect” and more of a timer / reward for doing something (I hate to bring this up but if you play league there’s a epidemic of what we call “three hit” passives where you essentially need to fulfill a condition three times to activate a power spike of some kind.)
    It’s so much easier to balance an id around these ideas of power spikes and trade offs rather than.
    “Oh my god that’s like 40 potency and 20 bleed count on an enemy guess I win”
    Of course in the future I hope that they can actually make more effects that don’t just deal 1 to 1 damage or something like that. But for now I can excuse their overuse of charge. I just hope that in the future they can come up with some other effects that can actually be balanced in the grand scheme of things.

    I feel like rupture is the only status effect that works properly right now (besides charge of course).
    Burn being capped at 99 really bothers me.
    Poise is just a worse charge.
    Bleed may be good, but I never tried it.
    Blue rupture is in a weird spot for me. Imo, it needs more ids / ego to increase variability.
    And tremor is… tremor.

      The issue with rupture is that it is really hard to maintain the status because there are aren't enough skills at apply count, to the point where even most rupture ID's are net negative on rupture. To put things into perspective, because rupture is depleted on hit, a coin needs at least 2 rupture count to be net positive.

      @@solaariel2692 indeed, all ids are count negative. But with some planing it is actually not that bad. When I was doing railway with rupture team, I was able to maintain potency even on cycle 0. Of course, one small miscalculation or 5% tails could cost me an entire stack, but it’s a high risk/reward gameplay style. Steam machine never took more than 4 turns for me. Most bosses died in 3-4 (rarely 5) turns with the exceptions:
      Damn fox - due to the rupture cap at 30/5.
      Centipede - had to win every clash making strategized stacking very hard.
      Lost passenger - by the time I got to him I was exhausted and allowed myself to not care about a turn count. (I was aiming at sub 150, and it was already obvious I was going to make it, no matter how long the fight would take).
      My main strategy was:
      - Dimensional Shredder Yi Sang on the first turn.
      - Seven Heathcliff / Outis and chainsaw Gregor focus on specific part to maintain rupture count.
      - Talisman Sinclair support passive allowing K Hong Lu to rapidly increase potency in two hits.
      - Sometimes use either Gregor AEDD or Hong Lu D.S. to keep r count afloat.

    I'm hoping it will be a seasonal thing, Season 1 had a ton of bleed IDs, and we've barely seen any since then, maybe we will see something similar with a different status in season 3 (although Ishmael's EGO doesn't set a great precedence.
    It is slightly disappointing that tremor is probably one of the least interesting status's to turn into charge, I think you could do something interesting with burn-charge for example.

    7 months without Liu Faust, Liu Yi Sang, burn Ryuoshu and reverse coin burn Rodion both having burn egos since the season 1 bp and burn Don having one of the most valuable burn count ego since that chicken event...
    Yi Sang even had mentioned that the burn can mean many things by talking with Mersault about the burned potato in chicken event, i thought it was a reference to his new burn id. But those just like dreams that never come true.

      Legally speaking this is still early game. There's can still be hope(read copium) that by the time Limbus story reaches the halfway point, Charge units become too weak. Like characters that start off great then fall off.

    Charge is plentiful.
    I do have to agree it kinda sucks that the other gimmicks aren’t getting as much, as someone who really likes Burn (and Charge, haha) so I’m hoping we get some more soon as well.
    I would prolly split hairs about if Self-Tremor is basically charge since the effects they give have been pretty different most of the time (more attack weight seems to be common, and then a like +2~ on coins if that’s a thing), but also fair.

    If your ID's mechanics don't relate to straight-up dealing significantly more damage or rolling higher, then they're irrelevant. Burn can do a maximum of 99 damage PER TURN. When hundreds of HP are deleted per turn by skills, that's nothing. All future burn IDs are going to be contingent on some new burn ID introducing a mechanic that gives burn some way to deal even more additional damage, like removing the stack limit or making the burn stack "pop" like sinking under some conditions. The uniting issue is that burn itself is fundamentally bad. The thing it does by default is so weak that any "good" burn ID or EGO would have to buff the properties of burn itself somehow or use burn entirely as a resource for increasing your direct damage/clash potential rather than just being good at burn.
    Charge is unique in that it has no baked-in purpose whatsoever; it is entirely inert until "activated" (by a passive, a skill effect, an EGO gift, or something) and then what it does depends ENTIRELY on what is interacting with your charge stack. Literally all it does is make your kit more expressive and interactive. The more IDs and EGOs that interact with it, the more interesting these interactions become. The strength of charge IDs is that charge acknowledges its purpose is just to enable and interact with other gimmicks; it can't be fundamentally bad because it has no fundamental effects. THAT'S why PM likes charge so much. And why I do, too, to be fair.

      This is exactly it. If it is ever going to be viable, burn needs an ID or EGO that's basically just Spicebush Yi Sang but burn. I think PM realizes this and is thus putting off having to make units like that before they figure out how to solve the inherent design problems with statuses like that before going forward

    I know we're upset about charge, but I'm happy it's at least another W Corp ID, W Corp being my favorite part of both LoR and Limbus. Though I do think we need to get more support for bleed teams, cause Hook ID going on to Hong Lu, who already has a bleed ID was just wrong.

    All I’m saying is patience will eventually fill the gap in EVERY possible team comp, genuinely the worst IDs will one day get some attention and be buffed by some form of EGO unless PM intentionally wants certain IDs to be useless, there will come a time when we can have a full Poise Team but we are not there yet.
    The Era of Charge may prosper but one day many other Eras will come and I don’t think any will fall, they’ll just all rise to similar heights one day
    Or at least I hope because it would just be cooler to see more varied IDs and EGO in the future catering to more than just high tier IDs

    I think the attraction for PM is that charge doesn't do anything except gate access to your abilities, so they don't need to worry about balancing charge because even an infinite stack of it is an easy outcome to model. The other status effects all suck terribly because they've cottoned on to the fact that buffing underperforming mechanics is far easier than nerfing overperformance in a gacha game, and the ID's can be used to define what status effects do rather than the other way around. In other words, everything is charge because no status effect matters beyond the tricks an ID can pull with it.

    In defense of self tremor, project moon care a lot about lore in gameplay system, self tremor ids would make no sense if it have charge instead, and self tremor is a good way to solve it, however, man project moon is really addicted to charge ids, like come on where's the fun when every ids play in a same way, give me more umbrella heathcliff, dieci rodions, cinq don, give me some unique.

    To add onto your point about tremor count not having a downside. For it to impact your character, you need to 1st, have an enemy stack tremor potency on you, and then 2nd, have it get bursted by an enemy. I genuinely can't think of any enemies or fights that can apply or burst tremor without an on-hit effect, meaning that for it to POTENTIALLY have a genuine impact on a character, you need to be losing multiple clashes, which probably means you're already getting your ass handed to you in that fight, or you're running some sort of weird counter-only strategy.
    Unless more tremor count IDs are like Boat Sinclair and burst their own tremor, it's not going to be a downside at all. Which, given that both 7Don and 7Ryoushu have "take damage if you don't have the right setup", and RIshmael deletes someone, probably your Gregor or Heathcliff, if you don't, I don't get why they haven't been adding that effect for more charge count IDs.
    Though my guess as to "Why yet more charge" would be, it's a very easy to balance "Status". Unlike Burn, Rupture, Tremor, or any other on-enemy status effects, Charge is a resource that is consumed to empower another ability. If an enemy has 99 rupture, the next attack is going to deal 99 damage, and if you add more count to that, multiple attacks are going to be superpowered as a result. But with charge, if you have 99 charge(hypothetically), doesn't matter, you're only using a specific amount to gain a specific effect that doesn't scale with the charge spent. Unlike Poise, which will always boost damage in addition to any other effects it has, charge ONLY does exactly what the ability says it can do.

    My guess is that this bias comes from them wanting to be able to put very powerful skills onto IDs but not really being able to do that without any conditions without breaking the game (this is of course under the pretense that its working and that Wdon and Wryou are not actively breaking the game) and out of the 3 ways we have so far to do this, self status effect, enemy status effect and speed, i'd wager they feel like self status is the easiest to "balance" since theoretically you can't influence it outside of an ID and the EGO it carries. But then they made a telepole oopsie, rode themselves into a corner out of a characteristic lack of foresight but since this is a gacha they can't make the type of sweeping changes that they did in other games because people paid real money for the funny reverse grip sword woman. If they were to do that I would be in favor of just making the charge status itself do anything really, none of this would be as big of an issue if holding onto charge or spending it would have some other side effects that really make you have to think. I really hoped this would be what they were going for with self tremor but alas. Basically what im saying is bring out the goddamn thumb ids and make ammo a real mechanic to play around with.

    Let's be fair, self-stacking counters IS an interesting mechanic and they've figured out the formula for a well-functioning ID design that isn't just all power creep all the time. I don't know what they're doing behind the scenes for unit design, but if they're testing out new ways to help other status effects but they need to release content, might as well release the charge/self-tremor IDs that they know have a fun play pattern rather than send out something weird and hard to use like Sunshower Heath. (I'd like to see more weird IDs like it, but seeing people's reaction to it on release, I can see why they don't want to release more like him)

    In a way, they releasing whole boyband group of W corp first is good so people can actually build the team first, rather than having to wait another type of characters in between, prolonging the time needed to wait for the complete team. But yeah, I'm not interested in charge id so.. Guess have to wait till PM quits it and releases other type of IDs. Tremor charge tho, really PM!?

    I hope they introduce more enemies with that charge steal mechanic as a way to counter the charge meta.
    I think the reason there is such a charge bias is that charge is really easy to make IDs for since it is such a simple mechanic compared to the other status effects.

    I agree that there is to much charge in the game right now, but I do have a slight caveat for it.
    See the thing is, I don't mind both W and R corp IDs using charge since they kind of use it in different ways. Yeah it's both to improve attacks in the long run, but W feels like a build up to a huge splash while R feels like it's like rolling a boulder down a hill, of more a momentum thing and I feel those are different enough ideas and styles of play that they can co-exist on the same resource. In fact them sharing charge is technically a healthy thing because it allows some cross polination as it were in team building, like I could run W corp teams and splash R corp and use relevant EGO type things. Rosespanner is pushing it, but at the same time they still have a different gameplan so I'm willing to bite and it's still healthy to be able to crosplay them with other charge IDs.
    Taken that way I feel it's pretty ok...
    That said, self tremor is a mistake and feels like where the problem is. Treating that as charge is rather dumb honestly since it just feels like less thematically solid charge and that just makes the somewhat legit charge IDs feel overwhelming in design space.
    As for my backseat game design moment, I feel the IDs that self tremor should have it as a harder downside but maybe crank some power up in exchange? Like I feel every self tremor ID should have the potential to burst on self for bad execution of their game plan as a punishment for messing it up. Maybe have like a sanity cost as they tremor themselves or something I dunno, at the Regret probably should do that, but I digress.
    TLDR: I think there's a lot of space to use status ailments as resources for IDs, but just using tremor as an alternate charge kills a lot of the uniqueness and potential the idea has and at the same time makes the charge IDs feel less special/overwhelming.
