    I wish they made yarha Manchu bows of much higher draw weights. According to historical records many Manchus drew beyond 100lbs. Alibow’s imperial strength bow just doesn’t have the draw length or siyah length but I bought it anyways to compare

      How many people can pull that

    • @HistoricalWeapons
      @HistoricalWeapons 4 года назад +24

      @@siberiaacoustic most archers these days don’t practice military archery anymore but I always wanted to revive it as a sport. For example Olympic javelin throwing has continued to be a strength+agility sport but archery has evolved into more of a mind focused sport in the competitive levels. Would be interesting in the competitive scene, if we revive the ancient art of drawing heavy bows and shooting them (reasonably) accurately and fast. I’d imagine it would attract more people into the growing sport of traditional archery

    Good morning. I received my Longdraw Yahar today. It was a long journey. I ordered it on January 27th '21. Along with three extra strings, my usual thing, twelve [12] arrows, a couple of extra sleeves, two high quality custom made Manchu style thumb rings in special bags.. They sent eight [8] extra knocks for the arrows. A nice plus. Arrived today June 02 '21. Alibow was very good about my impatience. Tolerant of my impatience. A true quality outfit. I ordered this tackle on the weight of your reviews. I am very pleased with the out come. I wanted to know my story. Thank you for all the effort on our behalf. P.S. I also purchase a Turkish style bow from a review by you which does shoot underwater! Fantastic.

Also bought 6 manchu arrows from sarmat waiting for them to arrive. Your videos are very informative and relaxing to watch. Already got some people I work with to start watching your videos.

    Dear Armin, the higher brace height does not effect the maximum draw length of the bow? Best regards!

    Hey Armin, great bow and video. which thumb ring design would you recommend for heavy bows?

  • @shibesama6275
    @shibesama6275 3 года назад

    Would you expect stacking at the higher draw weights, for both bows, resulting in a shorter max draw? Eg. the 55# or 60#. If so would that make them less efficient if you can't pull them to the same lengths as the more moderate draw weight versions?

    How do you choose the draw weight for a starter manchu bow if you already do thumb draw but haven't shot manchu? I draw 45# thumb draw on a turkish bow anchored to the ear. Is the manchu draw different enough that I should start lower?

    Does anyone have a good recommendation of a good starter bow that can be shot in any style, whether it be split finger or thumb draw? I only ask that way because I’ve only ever seen the Manchu bow being shot with a thumb draw. I haven’t picked a bow up in years and am having to start all over again.

    Where can I find any info on it?

    As always, Nice to see a new video from Mr. Armin.
    I enjoy every one.
    I have not yet bought a bow, as I am an old man living on a budget.
    Instead, I am am taking up a hobby from my young years.
    All The kids here, We made our own bows, not very effective, But they worked against The Cowboys.
    Alas, one of them lost an eye.
    In perspective, in the age of internet info chaotic hell, I am very happy to find Malta Archery, and with info learned from this site and references i have collected, and dried out different samples of wood, and sinew from The recent Moose Hunt.
    I hope to have a lot of fun, trying to make bows and arrows.
    I live in Southern Norway, in my boat place I have collected a lot of flint arrowpoints from about 6 thousand years ago When The Ice cap drawed back from The Coast here.
    Of course, I will not use originals, But try to reproduce them.
    Thank You for Your vids, best Regards from Lindesnes.
