I don't really care about the release; I shoot both with my Hun bow and my Qinghai, but can only manage Mediterranean with my longbow because my ability to thumb draw currently only goes up to about 80#. However, this Alibow isn't an English longbow. Even ignoring the nocks, it's significantly shorter than the shortest English longbows were (even the Varang Lux is slightly too short, in addition to having self nocks instead of horn).
@Lawrie Conole I didn't say that it was, I've just heard people erroneously describe it as such and wanted to head that off. I haven't tried it, but I have heard good things about their bows so I might look into getting one at some point. Incidentally, what's your height and draw length, if you don't mind me asking?
Remember its still a baby, I used to belong to a company of Archers, we had them going up to 180lb, mine was about 125lb, That was 30 years ago, all equipment was made in the club, bows arrows fletchings arrowheads, because you couldnt buy them, life is so easy nowadays

As usual I totally agree with you. Make it matt and a recurve with 33" draw. Then your looking at the survival bow to have. I had a SAS folding bow and that was disappointing. This.... I gotta have. Ohh yes it will be mine 😏🙏
...And you could use it as a survival fishing rod as well.😂 You just discovered this for me, I’m pretty sure I’ll get one for the price; thx.! ...Though still my opinion is that since you implemented the 10 point rating system, your small critics could be better highlighted in the scoring. ...For example here: based on what you said I would have expected that for the build you will give a 9 (due to the brass parts) and the basic feel an 8, due to the vibration and bending in the handle. Still a very good score for such a cheep bow, but at least would show a difference with - for example - the Szimeiszter Horsebow, just to name one. ...Though I understand it too: you love so much bows, that if you really like one you don’t have the heart to take away points.😊

Excellent, I've just ordered the 35lb version. Looks well designed as opposed to other takedown bows where you either have to bolt the limbs or fasten the handle around the join. Hope its a fun as it looks
Seems like they changed the pricing structure of delivery since yesterday. Instead of $90 USD flat, it's now $30 or just $10 if you're buying other things in the shop.
Excellent suggestion, Armin! 20 pound fiberglass takedown hankyu. Just what I need! Of course, this longbow is interesting as well. 👍 Thank you for making these great videos.
it's a theory about new materials (polycarbonates, fiberglass) : the shape and the density are the reason of the proximity to original constructions (wood, bamboo) this bow seem to justify this theory, very surprising results, and for a price.....
could be a good bow for teaching, I fear that the lower the poundage the more shake you will get. Wait a bit soon there will be the perfect starter bow coming :)
Gotta say, for 50 bucks, that's probably the best value bow out there. I don't even mind a little gold with black. Looks good 😁 Ahd if they make the hankyu, I'm buying it for sure 😂
Crazy I was just looking at this last night and wondered if u knew about it. Great review and speed isn't too shabby. I was expecting less but it's very thin
For my first bow I've brought the white feather riser 19' with 34' custom made wooden arrows, 3' feather flight and 100g bodkin points. It's a great first bow for anyway
Shooting from your hands should be most representative of really world arrow speeds than the devices. Statistics wise 3-5 not enough 10 is as good as lots
People asked for repeatable consistency to measure the speed tests for years. Armiins friend sent him the tiller/ ballista to try & help develop. Armin shot from the hand through the Chrino. If you watched the whole video you saw three methods of shooting through the chrono
@@2DGraphicDesign Many of those people don't understand the complexity of what goes on, crossbows/ballistas typically shoot short stiff bolts not long floppy arrows as was shown in this video it doesn't go well. Then there's friction losses problems releasing the knock etc. The tools will be very useful for repeatable accurate measurement of draw weight. I was trying to say that just shooting normally will be more repeatable than blowing up arrows on something that can't really shoot them.
@@mrln247 True & as they say, 'nothing ventured, nothing gained'. Indeed, an arrow was lost. The use of two devices do answer a few questions & suggestions people put forward, over the years I've been watching this channel.

You can literally take it down and store it in your quiver
Yes, a takedown Hankyu would be awesome, I would definitely buy one!
50 dollar, ok! But shippingcost to the Netherlands are 50,50 dollar. So the bow will cost 100 dollar. No selling in Europe.
maybe soon :)
Heh......and i told my friend that i will never acquire english longbow........... now i am reconsidering 🤔😁 thx for review Armin 👍
Reconsidering done....longbow is on its way 😁👍
Remember its still a baby, I used to belong to a company of Archers, we had them going up to 180lb, mine was about 125lb, That was 30 years ago, all equipment was made in the club, bows arrows fletchings arrowheads, because you couldnt buy them, life is so easy nowadays
@@michalbohemian8615 did you get the bow, what do you think of it
@@kevinmaughan4290 first impresions was a little bit wierd. First thing it feels like you holding a full metal bow :D but first shot gives me a smile on my face. Little vibrations but nothing that hurts even after 100 shots in one training. I am not a good historian but english longbow was about 2meters unstringed? Correct me if i am wrong. This one is .....short longbow. It's smaler but it suits me well. I am glad to put my hands on this one ;)
@@michalbohemian8615 i ordered one and looking forward to it, , cant go wrong for the price,
I .... want one lol
Alibow need to sort out shipping prices.. The bow is 50 dollars but also 50 dollars to ship it to Europe !!
Really enjoy your reviews. What an unusual but amazing bow.
What sort or things do you look for to give high score for Package?
points for what is included, as a manual, description, second string, string holder...
I've the 70# version, shoots nice
Me likey this bow!...whenever Armin has fun with a bow I always want to cancel plans, blow people off and just grab my bow and head to the garage for some fun of my own. Shooting is so much more fun than many things.
Happy shooting everybody, thanks for the inspiration Armin.
I love Alibow and this Longbow looks great, however the total cost for me is $130 USD because shipping is $80 USD, which is crazy 😵
PS. Very nice review as always Armin. 👍
Now it is $30 shipping for this bow
@@alibow3603 Nice, I'll definitely pick one up then. Thanks Alibow.
@@Zebraman- my pleasure :)
Excellent, I've just ordered the 35lb version. Looks well designed as opposed to other takedown bows where you either have to bolt the limbs or fasten the handle around the join. Hope its a fun as it looks
Did you get the bow yet?
@@kevinmaughan4290 yeah, €50 shipping, very well designed and not a bad shooter
@@dermotshaw5722 very good, ill have to get one, 80 euro over all, not bad
I think the smile on your face said it all, that's what archery is all about.
Thank you for making these great videos.
it's a theory about new materials (polycarbonates, fiberglass) : the shape and the density are the reason of the proximity to original constructions (wood, bamboo)
this bow seem to justify this theory, very surprising results,
and for a price.....
Pretty cool for so cheap
Fascinating, especially for the price. Armin, at reasonable poundage, do you think this is a cost effective bow for teaching?
could be a good bow for teaching, I fear that the lower the poundage the more shake you will get. Wait a bit soon there will be the perfect starter bow coming :)
@@ArminHirmer Fantastic! I like the takedown ability, price, durability, and ability to shoot from both sides. Thank you 🙂🙇🏻♂️🏹
Gotta say, for 50 bucks, that's probably the best value bow out there. I don't even mind a little gold with black. Looks good 😁
Ahd if they make the hankyu, I'm buying it for sure 😂
Looks nice. Is good option for start in long bow. 😊
First time I can recall you smiling using a takedown bow
Not bad at all, the connection mech could be better but like you said, once it's strung it doesnt matter. Its simple and seems to work fine.
Great review, Armin thank you 👍🏻
Nice shooting with that bow!👍✌️
