    You mentioned hallmarking pliers. Could you please give us the name brand of those pliers? Many are not good and I have seen yours and know if you are using this tool it is good. Thank you very much for all your videos.

    Another fabulous tutorial! Thank you again, Soham! You are truly gifted! I have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind (and, if you have a second) 1) I'm extremely interested in Fritz hammers and stakes. Rio Grande has a nice package that they've put together along with, I believe Mr. Fritz's second DVD for $750.00. I know it's a lot of money however, there are a lot of tools. I'm thinking there are at least 7 hammers and 8 or 9 stakes. So, my question is, What I'm really interested in doing are cuffs and rings. I don't know which hammers or stakes I need for anything! Soooooo? I'm thinking that I would more than likely use everything down the line. Also, who know how long this package will be available... right? Question 2) I'm only 5 feet tall and usually weigh around 125 - 128. What is a good weight for my rawhide hammer? The one I presently have is really heavy! When I first started making jewelry I just went out and bought one, not taking into consideration the fact that I'm not big and it is! Soham, thank you again. I sure wish one day I could just run into you and we could go into your shop and whip up a ring and a couple of bracelets! What fun! I still say.... I'm pretty sure you need an apprentice and, well, I'm not doing much these days... just sort of hanging out.... you know... me and my open mind....Warmest Wishes,Teri L. Steinborn

      +Teri Steinborn hi teri, i think it would be better to use basic tools for a while before you spring for the delux spread. the fretz toos are gorgeous, but really a luxury. once you decide on a direction for your jewellery, then you could get the tools appropriate for that.

      Perfect advise! Of course I don't know what to order. Can you spare a bit of time to help me out? As I mentioned in my previous mssg. my present interests lean towards rings, bracelets and then, whatever I can imagine for a necklace.... I have a pretty unique imagination!!! Believe me!
      I really do appreciate your help. Again, I have no idea where to start. I do not know my hammers very well at all. I have a couple of decent ones and one Fretz jewelers HMR-21. I take care of all of my tools.
      This is my business.
      I have no plans to do anything else.
      I was the controller for Hyundai Heavy Equipment in Elk Grove Village, IL. When they decided to move their corporate office to either North Carolina or South Carolina (it's been a while... I cannot remember which! to many fumes? :0) I made my decision then to just do this full time. I've not regretted it once! I make enough money to put back into the business and still pay the mortgage and eat... little else ... oh, and I only get to eat once a month so I have to live on love! Damn! I sure hope your smiling!
      ~~~~S M I L E~~~~I HAVE TOO! Otherwise I'll remember that I'm hungry...:0)
      So, okay now, I've taken up quite enough of your time when you could have already been done jotting down the names of some hammers and stakes for me just to get me to leave you alone! Right?
      If, my friend, you do not have time for me, I will understand. I'll be sad...but, alas, I'll understand. In case you're wondering, your lack of words in your reply tells me that you're a man of few words. T'was not lost on me. After all, if you remember, I did tell you that I was a quick study.
      Thank you dear friend, for your quick response and wonderful advise. I do so very much hope and look forward to hearing back from you.
      Very Best Regards,
      Teri
    I notice you talk about pickling, what is it, is this something that I can make like you did with your solder?
      +Troy Anderson sodium bisulfate can be bought in a pool supply place. usually mixed 4 parts water to 1 part powder. can be used cold, but works better warm.
