There were very nice coins indeed Emanuel. One day I will need to sit down and search all those shiny coins and compete with the one I have in my main album. Potentially there can be a few nice upgrades 😉😉😉
Thank you Ian. I thought about it and I think I won’t start a new book. The problem with those old £1 coins is they are not available at all times. Now I had lots of luck to be able to search such a high quantity of coins, but who knows when and if I will have another occasion to do it again? 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ Instead of that, I targeted low-minted ones which I will keep looking for and of course all territorial coins as well 😉😉😉
That is great you found Edinburgh Arms to complete your book. 🎉😊I have a few sets myself of the circulated ones. I think it is great you get large quantities of these old pounds to search through. That way you can pick up a few territories along the way.😊 I have got a Referendum 2p but like you need 1p, 20p and 2 pound one. I am also collecting Calpe House coins and Island Games. I particularly like those sets.😊 I am mostly collecting Territory coins at the moment. 😊
I am very happy with that 🙂🙂🙂 this is my 2nd full set of circulated UK coins I’ve got. Thanks to this batch of coins we were going through I pushed a bit my collection with territorial coins as well 😉😉😉
It's crazy to even think hunting a large amount of old £1 coins is still possible 😮, great video and a lot of top finds 👍 its a shame these coins don't really hold any decent value 😕
I was very lucky to have the possibility to search for so many old £1 coins in one go and I am very pleased I completed the first book on YT 🙂🙂🙂 anyway, now my main target is territorial coins. There are plenty of which I need for my main date run and so many designs I never saw 😉😉😉 according you said about their value - I think it is just a matter of time before they will be worth something more and that is not a main factor we collects coins 😉😉😉
Congrats on completing your £1 collection, and some nice territories as well 👍, but you might have difficulty in the future to start another book, as the old round pounds have been getting taken out of circulation by banks and post offices, and returned to the Bank of England (since 2017). So I'm curious to know how you managed to get your hands on so many. Regarding other territories, as far as I am aware only Gibraltar and the Falkland Islands have switched to the 12 sided £1. Gibraltar's last round pound was in 2023, but no new types have been minted yet. With the Falkland Islands, they circulated the new £1 in 2020, but no round pounds since 2004. The IOM, Jersey and Guernsey to the best of my knowledge still use round pounds, although Jersey has not had any issued since 2006, and Guernsey since 2012. The IoM last round pound in circulation is the 2023 Grey Seal, but no further ones issued to date.
Thank you, Glen. It is what I thought as well with a new book and I decided to carry on hunts if coins will be available. Instead of starting a new book, I targeted all low-minted ones and territorials 🙂🙂🙂 I knew I could count on your numismatic knowledge in that matter 😉😉😉
Thrilling. Well done. Edinburgh and Gibraltar Referendum is amazing as is shiny 2000 Castle & Key. 😊

Amazing you got all the city coins 😊 and some really nice territories too 😊
Great stuff M Collects 👍🏻
I am very happy with those finds indeed Smiffy. I wouldn’t expect that old £1 coin set would be completed so easily just within 10 hunts 🙂🙂🙂
