I’m sure there’s a ghost immobiliser on it. It usually does that. If you start the car without putting in the secret code it will automatically turn off when you try and put it into drive or reverse!

Ghost would normally mean the car wouldn't start at all. Again, Matt Armstrong had the same issue with Rashfords Rolls. Rashford told him the sequence and then he was able to start the car. In most newer BMWs, if the doors or bonnet is open, the car would normally go into park. If you tried to drive it. Could be something along those lines
I think you overpayed on this BMW M2 competition by £5000 at £10000 its worth the gamble but £15000 is too expensive for all the damage and missing keys etc, you are going to get stung with the M tax on the parts. Copart should allow people to view vehicles in person we aren't in Covid now but they won't allow viewings cause people would pay less when they can see all the damage that can't be seen on the photos. I think its got an AutoWatch Ghost immobiliser fitted cause my car does the exact same thing if you don't put the access code in.
M2s are always a car i have wanted, i nearly bought a damaged on =e a couple weeks ago, but the parts especially are very expensive, especially the headlights as you mentioned and it would have needed 2, so i bought a 140i instead. Good luck with this build bro, i hope its not as painful as it's looking right now.

so thats a good shout, ill have a look. when it cuts off it wont start again... the car acts like it has a dead battery. after about 15 mins then it will start againg like normal. but does the same when you stick it in gear. crazy... been bashing my head with this one.
DEE you need to get yourself a large plastic mixing tray so that when you cut the pipes or there’s a leak on the engine, it will catch everything and will not go on the floor They come in 1 m x 1 m square no on the floor

@@SALVAGENATION Just hope the concrete floor is thick enough as there is usually a minimum thickness of concrete requirement for 2 post lifts. The installer will probably drill a test hole to check when they install it 👍
Anyone who installs car security should be able to tell you if it has some sort of aftermarket system installed so that would be my first port of call failing contact with the previous owner 👍🏾

I had to take my Intake off just to have my ecu bench unlocked at 6am in dewsbury without fully taking the charge cooler off 😂 was fuming then put it all together and flashed bootmod in the car park and drove home
It could be a broken brake sensor not working so won’t let you select gear as it doesn’t receive signal that your foot is on the brake what codes have you got coming up?
You reckon? It does exactly that. Drive or reverse it cuts and wont restart untill like 20 mins after the car sleeps. Long long long, thought it was a bad gearbox
Dee, not trying to be critical, but that raffle process is not the smoothest, when i have attempted it ive lost interest and left it a couple times. Maybe a smoother process would get you more hits

its a ghost immobilizer the car will start but when u put it into gear it will cut the power u need a pass key

If a rear quarter panel is damaged is it typically better to just replace the panel or get it repaired? If you could get a replacement under 200.

Nothing for the brakes, mainly fan disconnected and headlights. Brakes came back all clear!
