For anybody wondering using synthetic whalebone (which does kinda look like zip ties) is pretty common in corsets or structured garments and not just in fast fashion For obvious reasons you can't use real whalebone and steel is less flexible and doesn't mold to your body Many hobby sewers actually just use zip ties instead of synthetic whalebone :)
i tried on bustiers multiple times and it never looked good on me, but after a few tries on sewing it for my size, i found a method that worked for me, to buy a bra with the right cup size, cut away the stuff around the cups (but keep the wire) and then placed it on my corset and draped fabric on top. it might be that you don't fit bustier and that you would prefer your wedding dress withput one anyways, but i hope you don't give up on the style yet if you do like it in theory❤️❤️❤️
It's so nice you'll be able to wear a garment made with your own love on your special day! Your vision is beautiful, very exciting to see how it all comes together
Congrats on the wedding, and the awesome creativity behind making your own wedding dress! It’s a great excuse to make something really fancy, usually we don’t get that chance much as sewists.
Shaaaarroooonnnn!!! I'm a bit late but I just finished off uni and can finally treat myself to your videos!!! The dress inspo made me gasp and I'm so excited to watch you make this ❤️❤️❤️ and for once I'm not watching this at 5am 🤪
I also saw the second dress reference on instagram and I dieeed! I'm not even planing on getting married any time soon but that dress made me want to hahaha
Very pretty. I agree with you on the pleated vs. organic looks. I love the spotted tule. I'm watching Bridgerton s2 this morning and every dress could be in a bridal party 😂 so your video very well fits the mood.
Hello! Just found your channel. Loved this video, so cool to hear your thought process. Looking forward to seeing the finished dress and Congratulation!
this dress is amazing! i've been watching so many wedding dress tutorials in preparation for my wedding. i just found your channel but you remind me of a friend I had in primary school named Sharon. i wonder if you're the same person!
I made my wedding gown. Years and years ago. My mother was really great at sewing and I learned to sew from her. But the only thing I don’t like is, Store bought patterns. I don’t understand them. I make my own pattern. Take measurements and go from there. 🥰🐾
Hey, anyone, I’m thinking of using organza for my corset underneath my wedding dress but I also kind of want to use something not completely see through so then I thought I might use Crepe De Chine because I like the look and feel. Will it still work well for a corset?
Honestly, plastic boning looks like zip ties. Some folks use those instead of buying property baleen. (Steel bones are a different thing, but useful only if you need to tight lace)
lovely friends - I’m so close to 100k pls sub and help me tick off a goal for 2022 💖 tysm
Binge washing everything wedding. Just watched Mia Maples make her bridesmaid dresses, and now this video? Yes please😭
So exciting Sharon!! So happy for you xx congratulations! I’m sure that your dress will be amazing and you will have a wonderful day 💕
DIDN'T KNOW U'RE GETTING MARRIED! CONGRATULATIONS!🎉🎉🎉

Its actually good she is using an animal friendly product
@@ujjawalk2497 yeah for sure
I don't think you could actualy get real whalebone in most countries unless it's vintage (don't know for sure though)
I love that you are talking I like to know what a seamstress is also thinking about as you’re going along. So no keep talking I like that. 🥰🐾

Binge watching wedding dress making I’m going to order my fabric sooon! But I need to figure out how much I need and make a pattern
Exciting!
I'm the same! I only just mocked up my bodice and I need to buy fabric asap. My wedding is in June 😭
The polka dot fabric reminds me of Jenna Phipps's wedding dress that she also made!
Beautiful
i love it!
Congrats
love your gown inspo! can we find your pinterest (board) somewhere?
If you still have time change the lining to pure cotton you will sweat less and be more comfortable

Have you checked out Kaina Bonollo video's she does a lot of making her own patterns. I love the material you used
🤗
💗
I audibly gasped when you said you used your fabric shears to cut your pattern paper 😂
Honestly, plastic boning looks like zip ties. Some folks use those instead of buying property baleen.

Hmm she gets free patterns from Mood Sewciety
