I got my puppy at 7 weeks, she is now 5 months, and when i first got her, she picked up the “sit” command from my sisters dog, we just said sit to her and my dog walked up and sat, knowing that she’ll get a treat, but i just started going outside and doing as you did yesterday, and she’s doing alot better. Thank you so much
My Husky is 12 weeks old and won't sit still for more than 12 seconds. Darting around and chewing literally everything. I've grown up all my life with dogs and trained two rough collies but this Husky is a totally different ball game. New subscriber. Love your videos.
Very good video and training session. Nice to see a dog trainer that shows the majority of footage without heavy editing. You can see the successes as well as failures throughout the process. In a day of constant craving for instant success, it is good that people can see it is a process for training a dog properly in due time.
So important people understand that the difference in really easy to train dogs/puppies and the stronger willed types. Dwain is so full of joy and that is all down to your training and I'm sure Janet is doing her part to. Thank you Robert : )
Hi Robert thank you so much for your video's I have watched most of them, my GSD pup is coming on great with your training, we love it and have so much fun working together. I am currently attending puppy classes and this week was our second attendance, I am not sure whether to continue as the lady who takes the class has said if we see her out in public walking her two dogs, we've not to approach her as her dogs are not good with other dogs, she also said it took her 2 yrs to master getting her dog to lie down, this was what she went over this week and I was to sit on the floor bend my knees have a treat one side of my legs and my pup the other to entice through 'the tunnel', the other trainer also said her dog isn't good with certain dogs and can be aggressive, I've lost faith as my pup will naturally grow into a large breed and I've had people deliberately avoiding us while out on a walk, despite how well behaved she is most of the time because I have been using your methods, the trainers methods are so far from yours I know trainers vary their methods but she was curious and was a little offended when I was using the cheese in the mouth to get my pups attention as her methods were not working despite trying hard, I did not say where I got the method from, am I being too judgemental? What would you suggest? I am worried as she said she'll be teaching how to get my pup to stay next week.
Great video, thank you. Love a trainer that obviously really likes dogs/the dogs they use for demoing. The backdrop of the video isn't "too bad" looking either, for those of us in the PNW...!
Thanks for these videos. They're really informative and the gentle patient teaching of the puppy was fun to watch. We have two 4 month old pups. Super fun !
Love this so much! I've always had problems in rally obedience once we get to "sit walk around dog" or down/walk around ... .I think I just realized I haven't made the stay strong enough from the start. I'll try adding a target pad/box for this! And definitely start working on stay much much sooner. Thanks for sharing these videos.
Build one it's not that hard to obtain materials to elevate the dog off the ground, go to a park, use a picnic bench, do you live on a deserted island or something? If so use coconuts, bamboo and some twine. Seriously its not that hard If I can do it so can you, lol
I have a 4-5 year old rat terrier that I rescued. He's a bit on the skittish side still after one year but he's getting better. As of now he has very little training at all. Mainly I've been working on love and trust with him so far. I believe that he has come along enough to start working on training now. Do you recommend the same technique for the sit/stay training as you use for a puppy?
Love your videos Robert! Curious to know, I have a 6 month pup, learns fast but would do a lot of getting on countertops, going for food on the table when im not looking. Any thoughts?
Awesome tips! That's one handsome pup, thanks for not doing crazy editing and following through with your videos, unlike the dog revolution guy who only trains people to believe his way is the only way, and so far I have not seen one well-trained dog from him, only tazmanian devils with no boundaries.
You have excellent videos, but what is te name of de food that you give to all the puppies that you training. I wanna know because I want to buy it. I 'll be waiting for your answer
Thank you for another great video Robert. I have a 5 week old Portuguese Mastiff (aka Alentejo Mastiff aka Rafeiro do Alentejo). These dogs are used since ancient times do guard cattle and properties, and are famous for being stubborn, independent and somewhat difficult to train. I will try your techniques to train him. At what age do you recommend that I start?
Mr. Cabral, I ‘m bit confused; in some videos you throw treat so the pup will have to back or away from you for the treat and other times the treat is given right in front you. I am confused as to when to give the treat up close as opposed to a slight toss behind the pup?
Hi Robert I’ve a 2 year old shitzue Male dog our ted I’ve got him to basic training sit beg walking good on leash fetching ? will I still be ok to start learning him your techniques ?? I like your training methods , sorted 👍👍👍👍👍
How do you get a dog that won't poop Infront of you to start. My girl would rather hold it and do it inside the crate than when you're there. I need to know she's been because I'm trying to house train her and I've resorted to spying out of a window to see if she's done it. Thanks
Very good... i got a german sheperd puppy almost 2.5months old. How much g do i have to feed him exactly? The pet doctor told me 4 times the days around 80g.
Hey Robert 👋 How do we train our dog to walk nicely on a leash? We have a 4mo puppy (Pitbull/Dutch Shepard). She's never been on a leash until now and she tugs/pulls ahead of us when we go for a walk.
What treats do you use? I bought some small training treats sold at the local pet store but neither of my dogs (3 months old & 10 year old) want to eat them.
Robert Cabral after watching more of your videos I heard you say hot dogs or jerky so I bought hot dogs yesterday, I’ve got me a starting plan for training and I’ll be starting tomorrow, thanks for the reply and for the awesome content your channel has.
He's so genuine .he showed that trick on puppy which don't knows the trick
I Like how you use an actual puppy. Helps to see what to do when failure occurs.
I agree
What kind of treats are you using? Where can I buy them?
I agree so many videos I've watched are not about training as much showing off a dog they've already trained
My wife has been doing this to me for years and I never even noticed, well played wife....well played.
are you on a short leash or a long one?
😂😂😂
I got my puppy at 7 weeks, she is now 5 months, and when i first got her, she picked up the “sit” command from my sisters dog, we just said sit to her and my dog walked up and sat, knowing that she’ll get a treat, but i just started going outside and doing as you did yesterday, and she’s doing alot better. I love the tension on the leash thing. This is a neat tip.

Man I love watch you training the dogs, I can watch it all day.
A very logical & simple way of introducing the STAY. My 'thumbs up' 👍
Wow - that dog is beautiful. He looks so lean!

Jimmy has not moved lol
Jimi is a GOOD BOY !
This all makes a lot of sense. Getting a new pup soon, will utilize these videos. Thank you!!!
I had to put these in my library!

Great puppy training advice! The KLIMB works so well for adding that distance and distractions to the sit cue.

Your videos are really good Robert: thank you so much!
This video is just amazing! Thank you
What about in the situation where you dont have access to a klimb or platform

I like teaching stay by moving in different directions so it’s not just when I’m in front of you. Walk around step over etc.
thanks for your video sir it helps a lot to me

Love your videos Robert! Curious to know, I have a 6 month pup, learns fast but would do a lot of getting on countertops, going for food on the table when im not looking. Any thoughts?

What age to start a trainning ??
After you release him to you give him a treat? Or do you just release?

Thanks for seeing that!
@@RobertCabralDogs thank you for sharing all this information to us, I'll be sure to join your patreon so that you can continue to do so.
Cheers Mate!
what are the treats you are using sir? lab puppy owner here.
Amazing videos, question Do you have a video on dog food ?
If I don't have a platform or small table can I use a blanket or large towel?
Elevated is better.
Try a pallet with a plywood covering (so the feet don't fall through or get stuck).
Awesome!!!
Awesome! Thank you. Do you always use string cheese?
You have great videos. What do you do if your dog/puppy isn’t food motivated?
He said I got your diabetes, young man!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Hi, robert is dwain a golden retriever?
You have excellent videos, but what is te name of de food that you give to all the puppies that you training. I wanna know because I want to buy it. I 'll be waiting for your answer

Damn. Robert is swole!
what's the best treat to use?
Whatever your dog likes.
Very good... i got a german sheperd puppy almost 2.5months old. How much g do i have to feed him exactly? The pet doctor told me 4 times the days around 80g.
follow your vets advice!
Thanks to you. Even I learnt to stay. lol
Hey Robert 👋
How do we train our dog to walk nicely on a leash? We have a 4mo puppy (Pitbull/Dutch Shepard). She's never been on a leash until now and she tugs/pulls ahead of us when we go for a walk.
There is an episode on that with Maya, he used a long line
Hi, where do you keep your dogs/pups when you're not training with them? In a cage or free to roam?
i think Robert is a big proponent of crating puppies when they are not in training or exercise. Not sure about once they are older but assume not.
what kind of food do you recommend as a reward for the German Shepherd
Whatever your dog likes to eat. I use hot dogs, those soft dog food rolls, boiled chicken, etc
Can you teach stay with a 8 month old golden retriever and still have it be positive
you can teach stay with any aged dog and have it be positive
So is your release word yes?
Yes it is.
What treats do you use? I bought some small training treats sold at the local pet store but neither of my dogs (3 months old & 10 year old) want to eat them.
Have you tried string cheese or hot dogs?

I just got this GSD as a surrender from an older couple who’s daughter bought it for them and it was just too much.
Jimmy .... stay xx
my malinois knows the commands come here or sit down, but she doesn't follow them every time I tell her but only when she wants
What is good dog food to training:)
How old is Dwayne?
8 months today
greaat!
Can i get up now?
Lol
How many training sessions should I do a day?
the best stay example is actually the black dog jimmy lol
PUPS
Does this work with toy breeds? If I give my dog that many treats he'll be 45lbs LOL
Duane ... eh ? I adopted a dog surrendered to a pound in E. Northport who had the name Duane in 1984. He had a Pennsylvania dog tag on him.
Puppy biting
👍🏼👍🏼
Not sure why but no auto. 😑
Where is Goofy?
At the gym with Donald Duck?
Is that a cheese stick?
Hmmm so the other dog is staying the whole time and not getting any treat
✳️👍✳️👍✳️👍
Please feed the black dog also. I feel sorry about him ☺️☺️☺️☺️
Poor Jimmy did not get shit
You have no connection with the dog.
Excellent work !
