I know nothing about RWBY but I've always known of the existence of RWBY and I'll probably try this game at some point in the future if it's ever part of a sale because it looks good and like it would be a fun little game. I'm also a big fan of WayForward as I always find their games to be really enjoyable but I can't really justify paying full price for a four hour game based on a series I know nothing about, so hopefully it's part of a sale really soon. Thanks for the review!
My physical copy finally came in from LRG. Man i can't believe it took that long, but worth it, i prefer physical over digital anyway The games good in my opinion. I like it
I never really got into the series, and it seems like I'd enjoy other action platformers more than this, given that a lot of them do more to stand out. But at least there is something for fans of the series there, so I have to give it that. Despite not planning to pick it up, I appreciate the review as always.
I've been playing it for a few hours. I'm surprised how satisfying it has been to me. It's kinda simplistic, but somehow, it plays well. I give this a 3/5 stars
I honestly didn't enjoy it since it feels too reminiscent of Grimm Eclipse. Another RWBY game that was made six years ago, that was just okay. They both feel repetitive and both have a lack of innovative combat. I'm an older RWBY fan and it sucks that this just feels like Grimm Eclipse but this time without the multiplayer that helped make the game fun.
Yes an older fan who can't tell the difference between two different games. This game was already confirmed as a single player and leans more towards a platformer style. Wayforward are the masters at platformers which is their main focus. They made the hit series Shantae, so I really don't know why you expect a vastly different game. Not to mention that Grimm Eclipse was made by fans who got help from the voice actors by leaning their voices. Other than that, the game was fully made by fans.
@@mastertjt56 I'd have to say the biggest difference is that one is 2d with no combos but actual level design, and 1 is 3d with actual movement options and combos with a real combat system but hardly any level design
This helped me decide on what to do about this game, I'm going probably going to buy it but wait for a good sale because $40 for a 4 hour game means those 4 hours need to be enthralling. Looks fun but $10/hour of fun it is not.
Just saw that its currently reduced to 14€ and I love games like Metroidvania Genre and Bloodstained but from what I heard it here it seems like its rather a short game for that price…?
It's hard for me to want to play a game that's based on a series I'm not into, and it sounds like even if I was, this game wasn't going to be all that great anyway.
Nice review, but I think there's one point that really ties it all together. This game is $30 And this is in no way shape or form worth that much money
"did i ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? insanity is doing the exact same ****** thing over and over again, expecting *** to change. that is crazy."
Thid game was pretty bad pretty. unpolished barely any voice acting It brags about having exclusive songs and scenes and the scenes don't even add up to 2 minutes and there's literally just like 2 songs the only song in the beginning and towards the end. The other songs are pretty wack and they all play exactly the same This isn't for anyone not even a rwby fan. The price should have been way lower like 10 bucks is even being generous.
@@IDreamofIndie yeah I just platinum the game today I was so disappointed especially after playing a game on game pass called The legend of tian ding if you look up the creators they barely made five games and they've mastered it it's so fun and just full of life. I got so passionate cuz I'm a huge ruby fan and this just seems like a huge letdown especially by wayforward who make fantastic games. Just seems like a slap in the face not to get a proper rwby game
Not gonna lie I would really like it if they can make a Devil May Cry like Ruby game.
Prolly wouldn't sell enough but it would be cool
You and everyone else
Grimm eclipse is a hack and slash like dmc
@@Chickenbuttaaaaaa Grimm Eclipse is nothing like DMC
Been hoping for a game like that too. Metroidvania, but with quicker combat and a bunch of combos.

You are welcome!!

Honestly enjoyed the game, I've always been a fan of Wayforward games and this was another hit imo.
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
I like it. Though I wish there was a mini-map.
Agreed!
Couldn't have agreed more, it was annoying trying to backtrack and ending up in the same room each time

So this is where the evermorrow intro music came from

I spent $30 on this game to become stuck on the first level.
Reminds me of that really old game by teen titans in the game boy sp!
I want to play it!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.
its not even close to grimm Eclipse what are you on about
I would have to say that this game has none of the depth that Grimm eclipse has. Grimm eclipse has innovative movement and lag cancels.

So, apparently there is no in-game map for the platform levels?

You have such amazing characters in the rwby universe and you choose to make it a 2 D fighter? Smh....
Looks interesting to bad rwby is shit but appreciate the review
You are very welcome!
Honestly I've seen flash games with more difficulty than this game
Thanks for watching!
