Unpopular opinion here, but nepotism and “star” value also are factors. Earlier people who played villain, always played villain role. There was not much public talk about them in general. So there was a certain image.
Nowadays former heroes are playing villains, so they can’t be “too bad” because of the “image”. Also, villains were never politically correct or woke. The movie was always clear, villain is the BAD guy. Absolutely no justification.
In current time, partly due to changing values, partly due actors PR team, and wokeness, the villain is justified and “Hero” is not completely good guy. So we DONT hate the villain. So many movies in the last 20 years or so the lines between the good guy and bad guy have blurred a lot. The hero and and heroine do a lot of bad things too because of a certain “reason”. Just like villain. Only difference, the villain dies because he has to.

If Sandeep Reddy Vanga focused more on his characters and the theme of the story then just making unnecessary drama, useless action for the sake of violence for no reason and sex scenes then Animal could have been a better movie and make an actual reasonable motive of their characters then just the stupid reason that Ranvijay wants his father's validation so he will act the way he does in the movie like this is pretty illogic in my opinion because his entire life was filled with luxury and privilege and when the time when his father got time he didn't use it and Ranvijay was just shouting and speaking nonsense things before his father got shot and even after that it was pretty fine and the actual problem is that there is no story and an actual character arc of the main characters as the main problem that I have not with the toxic masculinity and misogyny and Ranvijay didn't even learn from his mistakes so what was the point of this character and the entire second half was very poorly done and Abrar's character was completely wasted like he was just added to be cool, do smoking, have three wives, rape his wives and die while fighting Ranvijay that's such a nothing character no personality no character arc and I like the fact that he was literally mute it was pretty interesting but he was literally wasted and I don't have to say that how Sandeep Reddy Vanga present female characters in his movies like we all know that by considering the fact that there is a mother character in the movie and he didn't even give importance to her then why did he even put her in the movie when there is no importance of her in the entire film then why didn't he just killed her in the beginning of the movie to make sense that why Ranvijay's father is a little bit distinct but he is trying to be a good father to his children but we didn't get any of this and that is very disappointing and to me the entire characters in this movie are very poorly written and this movie was just bad and to me I was pretty shocked that this movie became box office success considering the fact that this movie is literally bad.

Sanjay Dutt as Kancha and Rishi Kapoor as Rauf Lala in Agneepath (2012) were probably the most intimidating villains Bollywood has last produced. They were ruthless, manipulative and their characters were so dark that it made Vijay (Hrithik Roshan’s) victory so difficult but fulfilling even though Vijay died at the end. Agneepath had all the elements that made it probably the last pure play mass entertainer to come out of Bollywood.

Actually in sacred games both Pankaj and Nawaz is best villain because Guruji has a great impact and changed Nawaz's character and also in the same way Nawaz had a great impact on Saif's character

Its is more like production are making villians likable as many people like thanos and his ideology but bollywood movies or even south movies have never established strong villians. BE it abraar of animal or adheera of kgf both were like shown weak to improve charm, chadness and sigma like feeling for masses

Videos 10-15 minutes ke karo, because after the 15-17 minute mark ek point of diminishing return aata hai.. do consider it based on RUclips metrics. Baaki great job, great content.

I think the shift can be seen in all of the pop culture. Before the villains were stoic, calm, composed and calculated. Nowadays this is the time of emotional men, so the villains are also kind of psychotic, emotional, and all. We can even see this in all the main characters across the pop culture. (Of course there are some exceptions)

One of the best villains I've seen in animation is Vilgax from Ben 10 classic. He had the power, frightening aura, motivation for his goals, and all of that badass villain traits.
Most interesting part is that here hero indirectly creates his own biggest enemy and also makes himself a hero too.

What makes a villain great ?
In my opinion when the antagonist breaks the protagonist mentally abuses him emotionally and makes him overcome to his Demons and upgrade himself just to be on par with the villain that makes a villain great

I think there is one more type of villan
Not exactly a person a Situations
For example a Tsunami, earthquake in these types of survival movie we see the Disasters plays as a villan for example 2012, kedarnath etc
But sometimes human made disaster also Played a villan role in a movie for example
    Let's say
In Trapped movie Rajkumar Rao's character was stuck in his apartment because of the Metallic gate which was made by a person and then also ot becomes a survival movie irrespective if there is a natural disaster available or
    It's just my thoughts
What do you think about it sir 😊

i feel like paathan was a very good movie with a strong villian whose actions caused a lot of friction but it was not at all shown how it impacted the main hero. especially the scene where the mentor dies due to the virus, i think the movie cause have been way more impactful if it was given some emotional depth and internal conflict. it was very interesting how jim and pathan had motives from the same entity but thry manifested very differently

Yeah this guy is wrong saying villain gets defeated by hero easily in Pathaan.
Is he blind or he didn't see the movie?
Jim was always ahead of Pathaan and defeated him every time.
Even in the climax Jim lost only because the house collapsed.

Abrar in animal (just because of Bobby's act)
    Athreya in 24 (intelligent, scary)
Meeti in ye saali ashiqui (feminist)
Pratap in vash (total sadistic a-hole)
Rakesh in ek villain (a psychopath desiring his wife's love)
Raghav in badlapur (become a bigger villain at the end)
Vishal jethwa (mardaani 2) & Bob biswas (kahaani)-- cold blooded criminals
Tabu (drishyam) & Mr Khan (table no 21)-- villains we empathize
Pallavi Joshi (Kashmir files) & Sourabh Shukla (Raid)-- powerful, manipulative people

Mujhe Pathaan movie John Abraham ka Character Jim bahut accha laga wahi Tiger 3 movie mein Emraan Hashmi ka Aatish bahut weak laga hai aur isme sabse badi galti Salman khan ki hai kyunki woh har movie mein sirf herogiri karna chahta hai (Sirf Dabangg 1 movie mein Sonu Sood ka character thoda strong tha Salman khan ke character ke saamne) jabki woh bhul gaya hai jab tak uski movie mein accha villain nhi hoga toh woh hero kabhi nhi ban sakta hai isliye Bahubali movie series mein Bhallaldeva ka character itna strong hai tabhi Bahubali movie itni Successful bani hai iss video ko banane ke liye thanks please part 2 bhi lao kyunki villain naa hone ki problem sirf bollywood mein hi nhi Hollywood mein bhi hai.....

The reason could be that heroes are given huge amount out screen time , so the villains are left out with limited time to portray their character. And may be in a way writings are also the culprit, since massey movies are more of a hero centric. But if you watch Malayalam movies like Bramayugam you'll definitely feel hatred towards the antagonist.

  • @user-qs3cb1bk3p
    @user-qs3cb1bk3p 27 дней назад

Maybe because nowadays in every movie we are mostly getting a antagonist instead of a pure villain, like abrar, who has his own reasons of wanting to kill balbir, he wasn't a complete villain, he just wanted to kill balbir, after his brothers death, he started to becoming a more villainess person, but before the process can end, ranvijay find and kills him
