    As a big pittsburgh fan. Myles is just unstoppable. Dude has a combination of speed, power, and agility. At this point there are no pass rushers better than him nor TJ. They sit alone at the top and it doesn't matter who you have ahead of the other. If i was building a pass rusher, myles would be the ideal mold. He is just a coaches wet dream (PAUSE).

      THANK YOU. The number of Steelers fans whining about Garrett winning DPOY (or Aaron Donald) is outrageous. TJ is insanely good as well, but Myles's season was otherworldly despite TJ's technically higher stats. Garrett doesn't get the sacks and TFLs like TJ cuz the play is long dead before he can even get there.
      That said TJ is definitely due at some point. His stats may be, in my opinion, a bit more "manufactured" than Myles's due to his position and role within the Steelers' scheme, but I don't think anyone compares to TJ's ability to capitalize on the opportunities afforded to him. He doesn't need to disrupt plays because he *is* the play.

    No wonder those lightning fast sumo wrestlers are so sought after, and so easily lock in long term contracts. Where DBs or CBs eliminate one player, they eliminate the whole offense all by themselves. Still, Garrett's level of athleticism is outlandish. Reminds me of the surreal 1985-1990 tapes of Lawrence Taylor.

      @ChuckwaldMartin 5 месяцев назад +2

      Myles eliminated QB's from being able to do normal 5 step drops. Every offense was designed against them to pass so quick that he couldn't even get a chance to pressure. Too bad the rest of the defensive scheme let them down when it mattered most.

    This is why i love this channel. People who just use stats with no context to justify making blanket statements about why X player is better than Y really need to watch your videos.
    I'm British and a big Manchester United fan, and I compare it to how people talk about Paul Scholes. He was consistently underrated while he played, never got the credit he deserved and never put up gaudy numbers in goals or assists. But when he retired, world class opponents or teammates like Zidane, Xavi, Ronaldo etc. all came out and said he was the best player they played with or against - because context is *always* more important than just raw stats. I see the same happening in the NFL. Dont be fooled by the stats alone - they never tell the full story and sometimes are actively misleading.

    He wasn’t lying when he told Cleveland they would regret if they didn’t take him in the draft. Dude is a flat out monster, the total physical package with a durability above average in todays NFL. If he plays average for another few years he’s still a first ballot hall of famer. His production is legendary, and he can name his price and Cleveland would be foolish to not match it

    • @ebowden1168
      @ebowden1168 5 месяцев назад

      Double team rate isn’t really a reliable advanced metric. It’s not measured on a play by play basis like pressures are, it’s measured using tracking chips in the players’ shoulder pads. There’s a lot of unreliability in this method though.

    • @SpiteOSRS
      @SpiteOSRS 5 месяцев назад +2

      Exactly. TJ is used in coverage way more, so he gets chipped, which doesn't count as a "double team". He's so far ahead of Myles it isn't even close.

    • @jgphilosophy9963
      @jgphilosophy9963 5 месяцев назад

      They both play edge, As a pass rusher it's Garrett he wins his reps more than anyone in the league, the only argument you can make in favor of TJ is his knack for the big play. This is the first time Garrett had a supporting cast around him that matches what Watt has had and he won DPOY.

Stunts are good and creative, but pretty sloppy...o line play, unfortunately continues to deteriorate in the league...when you throw it that many times and you got your tackles kick stepping half the plays on a Sunday, theres no way to consistently win doing that.
