I immediately thought of this movie and Enemy Mine today from my childhood. Heartwarming to see so many people here on this day supporting each other. RIP Mr. Gossett, jr.
Why Gimmee some lovin' didn't make the cut for the soundtrack boggles my mind! The song was 1 million percent perfect for this scene! The bad guys found out that Doug meant business. That he had no intention of letting them kill his dad and was not leaving without him
I PROBABLY WATCHED THIS MOVIE 100 X'S AS WELL AS TOP GUN,I KNOW THE MOVIE WORD FOR WORD..This reminds me of the time we snuck up to the f-16's at patricks air force base after we were done surfing,5 of them sitting there with the canopies up and we walked right up to them and climbed up the ladder before the police and everyone showed up..this was back in late 80's when we could get away with everything..they just kicked us out and told us to never do it again..no doubt if i knew how to fly one i could've got in and took off with it..

I love the comments/opinions people are expressing. Some love the movie some hate it and some are in between (undecided) and that's ok. This movie is not up to today's standard, and that is maybe why there were sequels. I really like the message or shall we say the moral of the story. Can you think of the things in your life that had insurmountable odds that you had to face and overcome them? Yeah, this movie has a cheesy quality to it however how about give it some lovin with comments, lol During the time of this movie there was the "Iran contra" scandel involving U.S. Army Col. Oliver north. Another media close to this was the television show; Airwolf.
As a kid I absolutely loved Iron Eagle! So soon after my dad and I went back to the video rental store to get part II. Can't express in words how disappointed I was to see my hero Doug get killed in the first 10 minutes of the movie.. That was it. Didn't watch it any further. Turned the movie off, completely disillusioned. Iron Eagle = Doug!!
It is not uncommon in wars for people to run into a flashpoint whilst playing positive music. ACDC was pirated the most amongst soldiers during operation IF.
If you’ve ever been in the military like me you won’t ever understand the power that these aircraft have. My job was fueler (77whiskey) in the Army 5 yrs 82nd airborne. I was up close and personal with these planes. So all this it’s fake and make believe...think again. I did a yr in Afghanistan. I fueled up Abrahams, black hawks, Apaches, F-16, F18, tomcats, C-17, C-5’s, warthogs. But I did do my fair share of jumps over there. Got hurt in Bagram on a jump and had to get out...I also took a bullet in the stomach. So don’t start talkin crap until you understand what your talking about. Pisses me off when people start flappin their gums about shit they have no clue what it’s all about.
The United States Military in fact has a wide range of foriegn military aircraft and equipment. If you watch the documentary "Red flag" you will see the equipment for example. There are for example sikorsky aircraft that have been used in media. During the time of this movie America had what was called the "Iran Contra" for short. Involving Col. Oliver North. Iran contraband. I have heard of russian S.F. here with equipment some years ago.
Poirot must have had mad bills to pay to reduce himself to this role... Sad really...Steven Toast would have turned down his part in this to star in a laxative advert.
I don't think it reduces his acting skills though. I think that makes him a versatile and flexible actor. I have seen him in other roles and liked him there also.
Before David Suchet could star as Hercule Poirot, he had to spend some time in the cinematic salt mines. There he was as a Quaddafi-like dictator of a Middle East nation and wondering if he should have kicked his agent’s ass for recommending that the actor should join the cast of this fractured flicker. IRON EAGLE is pure horseshit from start to finish, but if you must watch this travesty, fast forward to the halfway point where Doug Masters and Chappy Sinclair take off in a couple of F-16s and fly halfway around the world to rescue Doug’s father (himself an Air Force flyboy) from certain death. Yeeeesh.
Two of the greatest things in this movie: Lou Gosset Jr.-RIP, and Gimmie some luvin!!
Much Love!!!
I immediately thought of this movie and Enemy Mine today from my childhood. Heartwarming to see so many people here on this day supporting each other. RIP Mr. Gossett, jr.
Enemy mine is great! Mickey Mouse is stupid!

When this song comes on in a movie shit's about to get real. Thank you
Adam Project for introducing this classic to another generation.
First thought when I saw the intro was “the next generations gonnaknow this song too”
I feel like we should have gone in and helped Ukraine with air strikes, with this song blasting in the cockpits as we kick some ass
Can’t believe other people recognized this in The Adam Project, can’t Belize my generation isn’t familiar with it
❤

One of the Greatest speeches in a film.
Born late 1996. Watched this when I turned 5... made me the man I am today truly. One of the greatest American films ever made. Fact.
Born in 86 - and this movie made me a fighter pilot :)
Yeah, if you are 12 years old.

Lol
Playing this song has a new meaning. Kick ass time
Regardless of what people thought of the film, this song and scene couldn't have been a better pairing
oh damn... i totally missed that Mr. Gosset Jr. is no more... 😞RIP!
I saw this movie 1.000.000 times in my childhood.... better days...
So 80’s.. so Awesome! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
This documentary was very educational!
Enemy cobra helicopters LOL. Loved this as a kid however

This was one of my favorite movies as a a kid. I wanted to be a fighter pilot so bad.
I used to love this movie. LOL!! Shows how a kid's brain worked.
I still love this movie.
48 years old, myself. This movie is dripping with cheese. I still really like it!
Pretty cheesy movie but I gotta admit I still like watching it
Me too.
Can you make a better movie this this
This movie is Mayor McCheese but its still bad as shot

Gimme some lovin = greatest rock and roll song of all time!
Navy has "Danger Zone." Air Force has "Gimme Some Lovin'"
I also think One Vision from Queen is good too.
This is the scene that introduced me to Steve Winwood and the Spencer Davis group
LOVE this Movie
RIP Chappie!
Movie title: IRON EAGLE
Featured Plane: officially called the Fighting FALCON, unofficially the VIPER...
Where is my F15 EAGLE?
The movie is about the pilot being an iron eagle not so much the aircraft. Have you seen the movie?
@@TickledFunnyBone Yes I did. It was no Top Gun. They STILL should have used a Mudhen.
@@swaghauler8334 i agree, the movie is no top gun, however the moral of the story is a great one.
RIP Louis Gossett Jr. (Charles 'Chappy' Sinclair)
This scene/speech has a new meaning now
Narrator: pretend it’s an iron eagle.
Me: more like an iron falcon. If he was flying an f-15, it’d be an eagle
If you had watched the movie, iron eagle is not about the aircraft he is flying.
Well, "Iron Falcon" and "Iron Viper" don 't have the same ring to them 🙂
