One of the greatest and forgotten aviation movies of all time and sound tracks. As a prior airforce F-16 enlisted active duty crew chief, this is the movie that made me wanna join and work on jets. This song hits home every time I hear it.
This is still my favorite movie of all time. I anted to be an F-16 pilot so bad, but astigmatism had other ideas. I was crushed that I would never be like Doug and Chappie.
I fell in love with the design of the F-16 and one could still make argument that of the planes without thrust vector engines it is still the best design for flight with the jet engines of the period.
One of the best fighter plane movies of my youth. Motivated me to fly, be an engineer and a pilot. Unfortunately I don't see kids Motivated by this anymore.. nor wanting to fly or join
RIP Louis Gossett Jr iron eagle and enemy mine was my favorite movies that you stared in you will be missed dearly im one of your biggest fan of all time and you are the voice of my 80 90 generation youth and adolescent be with God
More emotional than Danger Zone. Brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to this 😢 From a former Navy enlisted fighter jet electrician (and an aspiring Air Force Reserve Transport/Tanker Pilot)
Charger “General Lee” of Duks of Hazzard, Pontiac Trans Arm “Kitt” of Knight Rider, Thunder Blue Helicopter, Air Wolf Helicopter, GMC Wideside of The Fall Guy, F14 of Top Gun and F16 of Iron Eagle, 80’s 💪🏻🇺🇸
I finally watched this movie all the way through last Christmas and I don’t know if I will ever be able to again. It is such a perfect encapsulation of the 80’s it literally hurts to watch. I was born in ‘91 so I missed the 80’s and regret it everyday.
Ah, the 80's. Dirt bikes, when anyone could do just about anything, even steal and F-16 from a heavily guarded base and fly it across the world. Without refueling, kill the bad guys, rescue dad, and fly him all the way home, again without refueling, for that happy ending on the tarmac with all of your buddies.
@andyorwig For decades I thought the same thing. Now, as a retired Navy Chief and 24 years of active duty behind me.........after all the embarrassing and humiliating things I witnessed, it would not surprise me if the Air Force swept this under the rug just for the mere fact of not wanting to look stupid and embarrassed.
Col. Chappy going to the cockpit with no G-suit on....lol. Oh wait, that happened to a Hmong fighter pilot. Back in 1969, a Lee Lue, who flew more than 5,000 missions on a AT-28D. He was coming back from a rank promotional photo shoot when his CO called in to provide air support. He immediately jumped into his plane without his flight suit. Sadly, he was shot down and killed in that mission. He only flew less than 2 yrs to earn the most missions flown aviation history.
Gran temazo de los 80 de la película águila de acero. De cuando se hacía buena música. Se parece a la banda sonora de Top Gun, la cual recomiendo porque es cojonuda
*¡currently pondering and wondering if this song is a bittersweet and wonderful song!* - 8:00 am Pacific Daylight Savings Time on Saturday, 28 March 2020 leap year
Yes it was an awesome soundtrack. When I bought it I was surprised that "We're not gonna take It" by Twisted Sister wasn't on it. I'd never heard that song until the first time I saw 'Iron Eagle' and it was the main reason I got the album.
This cheesy ass 80s anthem has been stuck in my head since Iron Eagle was on a couple days ago. It's an event when Iron Eagle comes on, whatever is on the other channels doesn't matter. I would watch Iron Eagle over a Super Bowl. Then again I never watch the Super Bowl.
If Doug drove like that on a military installation, and the base MP's knew him by name for his reckless behavior, it wouldn't matter who his dad was. Doug would quickly lose his on base driving privileges.
Hollywoke, needs to make more of these movies again. Nowadays, every movie with the US Armed Forces portrayed, must have some type of liberal Snowflake mentality to it. Then again, Hollywoke is controlled by nations that despise American Patriotism. And Freedom.
My guess if a young fella drove on base like that His old man would get a new one ripped by the bas commander the the ypung fella would get three new ones ripped by his father and grounded for ten life timees.lol
Go for it. Make that dream a reality. I flew the F-15E after so many hold back. The key is, "Make them tell you No". You'll make it, stay out of trouble, keep your head in those books and out of trouble. I'll see you there.
It was before Queens big popularity comeback. 100 percent Freddy knew he was sick by 1984. Thank god for those evil drug companies HIV/AIDS is no longer a death sentence. I know someone who was diagnosed in 1994 -‘and they are alive today.
RIP Louis Gosset Jr. aka Chappy Sinclair. You will be missed.
Still play this song in my rotation. Great soundtrack
I was in the Air Force.. The movie Top Gun is like the Indy 500 and Iron Eagle is the Daytona 500... Both give the RUSH ❤🎉❤
Top Gun Maverick was better than:

They did refuel in movie self service comment
They also flew to rams Tuen air base in Germany at the end when he had that. Meeting with the generals
@@GLR6_ In reality, Doug would've been thrown into Levinworth.
