It is hard not to get discouraged as an almost 25 year old man with my first child on the way, living in a one bedroom apartment with my wife, working as a teacher with what seems like there is no possibility my wife could ever stay home, and no clue how I could ever be in a house beyond moving back in with my parents. But remember brothers, what we have now is more than many in the 6000 years of history, and God does not promise us vast wealth, but does promise us food, water, and clothes on our back. Trust in Him and we will do our best to give our kids more than we have/had!
Hi brother, I get where you're coming from. It's definitely not easy, I supplement my teaching with tutoring, my math education channel (this one, which hasn't taken off as I'd have liked but still helps kids) and delivery driving. God has blessed us abundantly and we can't forget that.
@@aallen5256 I teach Math, but I will teach my children that the Earth is roughly 6000 years old, as that is how old I believe scriputre says the Earth is.
Hey man, I was more or less in the same position a couple years ago. I was only making ~$26,000 a year with my first child on the way. I was teaching chemistry and finishing my PhD. Don't let this temporary season rob you or your wife of joy. The Lord takes care of His people. Keep your eyes and mind open and you will find opportunities to provide for your family. Congratulations on your newest family member!
Brother here is what I am doing. I am a 35 year old man - so 10 years your senior. I was blessed with a head on collision 10 years ago that gave me a settlement check that I applied to my first house. It was small about 915sqft. But I then married my wife and she helped make it a home, Then just before she got pregnant after waiting 5 years for the Lord to bless us in that manner we we moved to a bigger place in late 2020 when the time was right. The Lord provided in his time. Then when she gave birth she gave up working so I took on a second part time job to supplement her salary. I currently work about 60-70 hours a week since June of 2022. I do this to provide her the opportunity to mother full time. I will continue to do this until I can afford to work full time in just one job. I have often thought about this and I find solace in the fact that my Grandpa who was born in the Greatest Generation did something similar. I would do this again if this meant that my son doesn't have to endure this lifestyle. It is hard to never have days off for weeks on end, never have a weekend and very little personal time. But it is the burden I was meant to endure. Just as the Greatest Generation bore deep burdens to build an America you likely grew up with in your younger days by doing more with less, I feel called to do the same thing. I would encourage you to take on a second income so that she can stay home with the children.
I understand the money thing, I have learned what generational wealth is. Man is always destined to go to one extreme or the other, so I just keep seeking God

In Britain during the Industrial Revolution and up until the 1960s we remained poor and slaves to the grind. America has had it easier. The European working class have had it bad since time began. Nevertheless the poor are often generous and live very much for their children’s future and the kingdom. Do not lose heart. He is sovereign.
It's not a case of having it "easier." The difference is that in America there has been more and better opportunities to get ahead and build a better life. It was still hard work and required patience and diligence and fortitude but at least you could believe you were actually getting somewhere. It's irksome to me that hard work doesn't pay the dividends that it used to because America's ruling class has adopted the system of serfdom from the Old World. Americans were deceived with promises of free lunch and benefits provided by socialistic government.
You may have to move to another part of the country that is cheaper and find other work :-) The Lord will provide, you may have to drastically change how you think and what you do to make money. You are still young enough to learn so many skills that will make lots of money. Moving to the country and growing your own food is a great way to save and make money. In a lot of places in the country you can still buy a few aches of land for cheap, that is enough to start and learn on and then you can sell and get more land. Blessings!! We are 40 now and have spent the last 10 years learning practical skills on how grow our own food.

If Christ is the Exemplar of "Biblical Manhood," then it can have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with owning a home, getting married, having a family, accumulating wealth or financial security. This is a poisonous distortion of the words and teachings of Christ as recorded in the Gospels.
God/Christ does have a home, His home is the heavens and the earth that He inhabits and fills and has all authority over. Christ does have a bride, the church for whom He gave His life for. Christ does have a family, those who do the will of the Father and have been adopted by the Father are His family. Christ does have wealth and riches, out of which He richly blesses His people. He may not have had the exact earthly versions of those things when He was in the earth for a specific purpose, but He does have all those things.
