Piss on traxxas ill buy a different brand servo. They know plastic gears will strip out quick and then sell you metal replacement gears for the same or higher than the price of another brand that comes with metal gears already. My trx4m servo stripped out 2 weeks after i bought it brand new.
Yeah I agree it’s terrible but they also are very cheap to begin with. More expensive rc’s come with better things..why they cost more and everyone cry’s about the price..but you get what you pay for..unfortunately the price of everything is higher now also. But I will say traxxas is pretty fairly priced for what they are..the Xmaxx is still my favorite and what a beast it is and strong.
The o-ring was put back onto the new gear in the same place..can you explain why it won’t seal now? There doesn’t seem to be any other way to put that on..when that gear goes through the housing for the servo arm..how would I be able to prop that up or put it into another location? I’m curious what you mean..thanks i appreciate it!
@@mmbshobbychannel.3763 There is a small shelf on the new metal gear. In your video, you pushed the o-ring around the shelf instead of on top. I'm currently fighting with the metal gears to go in mine. With the o-ring on top of the shelf, it binds when put together. With it around the shelf, the shaft visibly move side to side within the housing. That's how I came across your video. I put it together and took it apart like 15 times trying to get it to work.
Hmmm yeah I guess I missed that..but why’s it not going together if that’s where the o-ring goes?..I put the o-ring in the same position on the new gear as the old one…where did it say that the shelf on the new gear is for that o-ring? I guess idk I must of missed that?. I don’t take mine in the water anyway..but for the price of a servo if it ends up craping out on me I’ll just buy a new one.
@mmbshobbychannel.3763 RIGHT?! I keep asking myself that why it'snot working properly. But I compared the old and new gears side by side. The top of the shelf is where it lined up with the placement on the old plastic gear. Maybe it needs wearing in. I dunno. Probably just guna buy an Injora and call it a day.

whre can i buy the things
Traxxas website..go to this crawler an there’s an option for parts
@@mmbshobbychannel.3763 can you give me a link?
Your o-ring is too low. The servo is no longer waterproof. Compare to the placement of the old gear.

Why buy for 20 when you can buy all new for 24?
This is for metal gears…you could replace the stock one with the plastic gears for that price..
I only did because at the time they was sold out of the complete servos so I just ordered the gears instead
