I’m a huge Casio collector & I saw this Timex in gold & had to have it. The things I like about this watch over the Casio a-168 are: I like this style of bracelet better & think it’s less hair pulling, I prefer this stretch fit, no clasp bracelet & I love how the display turns a glowing green when the watch display is viewed at certain angles in the light. 🔥
I think you undervalued each for durability. I know Casios can take a lot more of a beating and water than they are rated for, and I’m sure the same is true for the timex.
I couldn't agree more. They might be cheap, are made of cheap materials and some say - not my opinion - they even look cheap. But drop them and drop a multi-thousand dollars mechanical watch with steel/titanium or whatever case and sapphire crystal, my bet is on the el-cheapo digitals😊
I was working in a factory back in 1997 when I decided I needed a basic digital watch to sync up with the time clock at work. I went shopping and chose the Timex. This style of watch never left my wrist for over 20 years. They usually last 6-8 years before the tabs on the lug would break. I believe I'm on my third one now. I don't wear it as much anymore and typically use an apple watch. I think the expansion band is a big advantage for comfort and ease of taking it off and on for hand washing and such. It's a watch that you can just put on and forget about it. It's just a good practical watch. My only complaint is that you can not turn on the light while in stop watch mode. In that category the Casio wins.
I prefer the looks of the Casio over the Timex. I am building my affordable watch collection. I'm not buying for investment, just to please me. My collection at this time consists of three brands: Casio, Citizen, and Timex. I really enjoy your channel. The Town Watch was the first watch channel I subscribed to in 2021.
I have quite a few Casio watches in my collection which includes an A168 but with a positive display and a all silver coloured dial and it is a really good watch. I only paid £28 for it a few months ago here in the UK. I don't own a Timex digital watch and the only Timex that I do have is a Timex Expedition one and I really do like the Indiglo function of that. I really like the Timex T80 and am thinking about getting one sometime. I have recently purchased two Armitron watches from Amazon US which are the Armitron 'Rubik' and the Armitron analogue/digital 'Ridgemont after watching reviews on both watches by a couple of UK reviewers. Armitron is not known here in the UK mainly because they only market them in the USA being an American brand. I purchased both of my Armitron watches because they are fully stainless steel and are much cheaper than a Casio A1000 which I also like the looks of but I think they are expensive at around £100 here. The Armitron 'Rubik' is a really good watch but like the very early digital watches the lume is terrible. The Armitron 'Ridgemont' is a really excellent watch in my own experience though and the lume is good on the digital display. I purchased both of my Armitron watches for only around £70 in total which included free delivery from the USA and import duty included. I know Armitron is a budget brand in the USA but they really are good value for money watches. I wear both mine regularly as they are so comfortable because of the better quality bracelets on them compared with the Casio bracelet on the Casio A168 and other Casio watches at this price point. I would love to see you do a future video on your thoughts about the two Armitron watches that I own as I am very happy with mine. I forgot to mention that both of these Armitron watches have a 50M water resistance also which is another plus for me. Thanks for your review of the A168 and the Timex T80 and I have subscribed. Greetings from here in the UK.
Very entertaining battle of watches, congrats! I am watching this vedio now because I am about to buy new watch and I have this doubts which brand to buy...by the way, what is you nationality if you don't mind...thanks
Casio: "Yo Josh ... I did it" !!!! Lol... I absolutely love these head-to-head comparison videos. Well done Josh. Although I'm more of a Casio fan than Timex, both are great watches in their category, and both I believe will provide great service. Thank you for another great video my friend. Have an awesome weekend and be well 👍
This comparison was excellent, puts the one I did to shame haha, although the one I did compared two diff styles altogether, but the timex won in my comparison.....Casio squeaked by with a win in this one, and the result I can't disagree with. Thanks for doing this, absolutely spot on the way you did it too. I agree, Casio wins this one, but not by much for sure...thanks Josh!
Both watches come from long historic lineage. But only one company is in the God Tier of watches and that is Casio. Timex's quality has slipped significantly over the years. This Casio also has an in-house Casio Japanese quartz movement whereas Timex uses Chinese quartz movements. So that tells me, as a semi-serious watch collector, that the Casio will keep better time and last longer. As of right now, you can buy the Casio for $23 US and the Timex is $69 US. To be fair, there were folks trying to sell the Casio for $69 but far more (including Walmart) were at $23.
Personally I wouldn't pay over $25 for a low end digital watch like those. Cheap plastic case, horrible bracelets and only the bare bones digital functionality. Why anyone would pay $60 for one of those when an entry level Pro Trek or Gshock is about the same price is baffling. Heck, that's twice the price of the Casio DW-291H which is probably far more durable, has a 10 year battery and 200 meters of water resistance.
This Casio is < 60. G-Shock are bigger, worse strap, not in "classic" style but more for sport, teens etc. Disadvantages are: plastic scratching case cover and screen, hairs pulling strap, badly placed buttons, mb bad water proof. A1000 are made better, but have shiny and fancy look and strangely short battery.
I have both and prefer the T80 better....the negative display(hard to read) and the band of the Casio a168 makes it look blocky and bad. I have the T80 with the link adjusted looks and feels great...It has more curves on the face than the a168 so for me the Timex T80 comes on top of this one with a wrist size of 6.5 " is fantastic to have. Great video...keep rockin!
Timex vs Casio❌
Timex and Casio✅
Thanks for watching!
Both are great!
All about the illuminator :) but the negative display would annoy me. Long live Casio and Timex!
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching! The Timex is a good piece for sure!
100% agree
I ordered the grey Timex with the non expanding band. It reminds me of vintage Seiko digitals. Thanks for the review!
I think you undervalued each for durability. I know Casios can take a lot more of a beating and water than they are rated for, and I’m sure the same is true for the timex.
You might be right! Thanks for watching!

Awesome brands in your collection👌🏻! May I suggest taking a look at Orient and Islander, extreme bang for buck👍
My casio A168 has survived many ice baths, so I think their water resist I good to go regardless of what they say
Thanks for watching!
Great duel👌🏻, I prefer the Casio, but still the Timex is more legible
Thanks for watching!
If you buy the basic A168 version it's way cheaper. High availability and easier to read.
Thanks for watching!
I like the indiglo but, I am always loyal to Casio. I own numerous watch from them.
Thanks for watching!

Good Video! Do u still have that Alpina compressor? That watch is so beautiful. I have an Alpiner 4 & the build quality is substantial. ✌️😁
Thanks for watching! I actually gave away my Alpina to one of my brother in laws who needed a good watch! I love Alpina! They do awesome stuff!
durability test: just by looking at it. lol. why not drop, throw, hit, scratch, or even freeze them.
Nice head to head, anyway both are safe purchases. greetings from Chile
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed!
I definitely prefer that display on Timex over Casio. I had never thought that it would come this close to the Legend overall.
😁 Thanks for watching!

I hate the Cassio display with a passion so I’m shocked so many people love it. Anyway great video!

Nice video though!
Thanks for watching!

The timex is actually like 6 times the price of the casio in their website
Timex..!
Мне Timex нравится больше. Особенно дисплей.
