Piękny samolot z przecudownym dźwiękiem silnika. Słychać te litry w cylindrach... W Dromaderze jest identyczny ASZ62-IR tyle że bez "tłumika". Dźwięk i sama maszyna równie piękna. Ciary na plecach jak się to w realu słyszy :D
Potwierdzam, aż "dudni w klacie" jak na koncercie - dla mnie dźwięk pierwsza klasa, od razu przypominają mi się silniki gwiazdowe z 2WŚ np. P-47 brzmi podobnie ;) Wszedłem tutaj właśnie po to, aby sobie posłuchać, bo ostatnio nie miałem na żywo okazji.
Well it´s an electric starter spinning a flywheel,then you engage the wheel to the engine via a clutch.Thats the spinning down sound.Used for the millenial falcon.Do not know why this was used.There might be an pre-oil pump engaged at the same time,not sure.

After start of ww2 soviet engineers modified them to make it more suitable to environment and have created their own models. BTW this interventions were source of neverending hybrid war which have affected you by "russian engineering inferiority" propaganda
I thought the same thing, LOL! The noise is the heavy flywheel engaging the engine. They do this because the torque required to turn a radial engine over would burn out a starter motor in no time. The electric motor's job is only to spin the heavy flywheel up to speed.

Perfectly normal for a radial that has sat for more than a few days. The oil that seeps past the rings in the lower cylinders collects and can can cause a hydraulic lock which can bend connecting rods and worse if not purged. You remove the spark plugs from the lower cylinders and turn the engine over until the oil stops draining. This is why you see them hand turning the prop before start to assure there’s no lockup. It’s also why you see smoke when the engine first starts, there’s always a bit of oil that gets blown into the exhaust manifold but it quickly burns off. You only worry if you start a radial and don’t see smoke. That means the engine is dry, not at all good.
@@marekkwasniewski1399 Errrm no. Pratt & Whitney - to my knowledge - never made a 1820. They did make a 1830, which was a 14-cylinder twin-row radial. The Ash-62 (and thus the Asz 62) was a development of the Wright R-1820 Cyclone - a 9-cylinder single-row radial. But till this day I have never heard of a B-17 with Ash-62 engines. Please tell me more about it...
More like a bi-wing Otter considering it’s size. Would make a wonderful backwoods hauler in Alaska and the Yukon. One of Oleg Antonov’s finest design, superbly rugged and versatile with simple systems and a reliable engine.
