- The Wave reminds me of a hike in souther Utah called the wave. This was donated Cherry wood from Jennett Apgood, carved with chainsaw, hand grinder etc. many lessons learned.... :)
You can buy that first song by Sheii Preece, "Good night Mr Moon" at www.artforour.org/our/p/vkepj..., all proceeds go to Operation Underground Railroad.

Here are my commonly used tools/equipment if you'd like to try them out....
- Lathe: (amzn.to/3orYsOy) this lathe is freaking amazing, very well built, solid, strong, variable speed, 110 or 220 volt. I couldn't have designed it better.
- Lathe tools: (amzn.to/3agd3ay) carbide tip, (amzn.to/3t5iMsA) great beginner set
- File Sander: (amzn.to/36o3hlE), this is the cheapest and highest quality I've found. Fantastic for those hard to get to sanding projects.
- Angle Grinder: (amzn.to/36lgewG), one of my most indispensable tools, (amzn.to/3iXtNHW) the flat head helps get into tight spaces, carving and sanding disks are a life saver.
- Grinder Carving Disk: (amzn.to/39oWqKG), this is a really great disk for roughing out medium sized projects
- Grinder Sanding Disks: (amzn.to/3cj91Rv), fantastic for sanding and minor-moderate shaping stages
- Round Sanding System: (amzn.to/3r11N8Q) sleeves go around an inflatable ball (amzn.to/2KVCUvW )or make your own foam ball, attaches to a drill, great for tight corners.
- Palm Sander: (amzn.to/3r1mJg8), the most important sanding tool, used on almost every job. I like the size of the sand paper for both this and on the lathe by hand.
- Chain Saw: (amzn.to/2MbWNj2), has worked well for years, I also bought this electric one (amzn.to/3qZOqpp) for the quieter in the garage projects
- Oscillating Tool: (amzn.to/3puK4q1) great for cutting and sanding sharp corners and tight spots.
- Super Glue: (amzn.to/3pFg5vT) thin and runny, perfect for stabilizing bark or other unstable wood.
- Resin: (amzn.to/3t7WSVo), one of the cheaper but higher quality, does it all resins. Great results.
- Pigments: amzn.to/3sYC5ng, great quality for resin
- Pressure Pot: (amzn.to/3tfp1u2) 5 gallon for the big resin projects to get rid of bubbles, or (amzn.to/3pwX0M8) for the smaller average jobs 2.5 gallon, both need minor modifications to work.
- Protection: (amzn.to/39t3lm0), best face shield yet for carving and lathe work Join this channel to get access to perks including 10-25% of any products you see made. Also every penny earned through your membership is donated to OURRESCUE.ORG:

My goal is to pair my love for medicine/surgery, video, photography, art and wood projects with my campaign to raise awareness for Operation Underground Railroad (OURRESCUE.ORG), an amazing group fighting child sex trafficking around the world. I dabble in wood turning on the lathe, carving, painting with acrylics using pendulum and pouring techniques as well as different video projects with time lapse and other things I find interesting.

Absolutely love this! It uses the positive attributes of the log and enhances it into an amazing bowl. Fantastic!
Thank you so much Missy!

That bowl is very unique. Good insight for what that stump could be in a whole heck of a lot of patients getting it done. I applaud your talent.👏
Thank you Lynda!
Artforour.org
This is an absolutely the most beautiful bowl that I have ever seen wonderful job.
Thank you very much!
You are a modern-day Rodin. To take a chunk of wood that would otherwise be rejected as a chopping block to cut firewood and turn it into a work of art is, well.....WOW!
What a compliment! Thank you very much Carole!!
Artforour.org
You obviously have way more than a turning channel. That was a fascinating process. The amount of love and labor boggles the mind. The finished result was certainly worth it. What a beautiful sculpture.
Thank you Kim... that one was quite the experience.... 😀
For all the hard work and pain in the butt you get to reap the rewards for a beautiful piece! Love it!

I was more taken with the song than the piece for the 1st few min. This reflects less from the standpoint of your work, given the piece hasn't even taken shape much by that point, but simply a testament to the singer and the style in which she chose to sing the song. All I kept thinking was why I am not seeing her on American idol!!!
Agreed! Thank you!

WOW!! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Kris!

Una forma molto particolare. Bella.
Thank you!

Beautiful amazing piece of art. ♥️ only took every tool, instrument in your arsenal 😂 just never know which is the right fit for the job. (Btw I’m teasing)
Ha ha! Thank you! They say every man is just one more tool away from greatness. 😜
Very nice!! Even with the hole from the chainsaw; it adds character to the piece.
As a safety suggestion. Those circular carving blades used on angle grinders are horribly dangerous. Over the last 40 years I have investigated industrial accidents involving those blades and the outcomes are not pretty. Kickbacks are often very violent. Suggest using some other less dangerous tool like the Arbortech Ball Gouge. But that tool has a different set of dangers. However, kickbacks not nearly as bad if you are going to do this type of work. Work safely, Bud. Hate to see you get hurt.
Thank you for the concern!

OMG! How cool is this bowl? I am in complete and total awe! What on earth made you think to do this? It is beautiful!!
Thank you! I got this idea from another woodworker who showed me the way ...
Wow...
Did you see that wave pattern in the wood when you chose the piece of wood? You're amazing! What an amazing mind!!
Thank you very much. I saw another artist, skip bellock make one of those and I thought I'd give it a try....

Was watching one of your videos. Heard you live in Utah. I live in slc and have a lot of mulberry wood if you would like some
Thank you! That would be amazing! Can you send me a photo of the wood? Artforour@gmail.com
Holy cow that's alot of grinding and cutting but end result is Amazingly Beautiful how long it actually take? Awesome job
Thanks! Probably 8 hrs total
Really nice job buddy, cheers from Australia.
How long did this take to do?
Thank you!!

What about a circular sander drill bit or dremmel for those curvy areas? could be helpful!
also love your etsy shop handle =))
Good ideas... I'll have to investigate!
BTW, I've move my etsy shop to ArtForOUR.org
Your work is truly amazing. I'm curious about the low subscribers count ...
Thanks! I've only been taking this serious since last fall...
Beautiful piece of wood as always.
How many hours went into this?
Could you please tell me the name of the artist to the first song?
Thank you Billy! I work on these projects here and there so it's hard to say... 10+ hrs I'm guessing.
That song can be found here: www.artforour.org/our/p/vkepjz69ja98w45r27vervsqjnixei
I would love to know who sings the mister moon song. Thanks for your beautiful work.
Thank you Jeannine! That is my niece Sheii singing...www.artforour.org/our/p/vkepjz69ja98w45r27vervsqjnixei?rq=Mister
She sings so beautifully. 💖
Thank you! I'll let her know...
I bought her song, thank you for the link. 👍
Awesome!
So... 1st let me say, beautiful piece. Very imaginative and innovative. 2nd, my question is how much time did you have in this? It's amazing.
Thank you Don! I don't usually track my hours mainly because it's a hobby for me and I don't want to have to face my own insanity. 😜. I would estimate around 15 hrs....
@@artgivinghope That sounds like a reasonable amount of time that ambitious project. I think turning is a wonderful hobby for a surgeon. It makes perfect sense to me. My hands get beat up while I'm turning, make sure you watch them, keep them out of harms way. God bless you for this cause you're raising money for. I have filled out the artist application and I will be sending in picts in the near future, I want to be apart of the project.
Thank you so much Don! I'm looking forward to working with you.
How many hours did that take? That is pretty cool, funky unique!
That took a long while... 10-12hrs plus. Hard to say exactly when you pick at it a bit each day. :)
Please open your purchase site.
Artforour.org is open now. Thank you!
1 man + 10 power tools vs. 1 junk of wood = Will Smith treadmill story...lmao!!
They say every man is only one more tool away from greatness! 😀
Güzel bir çalışma oldu ama, keşke daha boş bir mekanda yapabilseydin.
Thanks!
