    I honestly don't know what I'd do with this team at this point. Your highest paid "leaders" can't stay on the field. Your promising youngsters have come back down to earth, and some of them are starting to look like outright busts. Your manager is making decisions detrimental to winning games, yet will be returning. You have festering internal disagreements. Younger audiences (or anybody for that matter) are unable to stream the games. There doesn't appear to be any meaningful accountability for failure within the organization's decision makers. The owner prioritizes the business over championships, so it doesn't look like payroll will be increasing. You have division rivals doing more with less and are showing a hunger desperately lacking here. It's a complete mess from top to bottom. I hope they can find a way through it, but I'm not optimistic.
    EDIT: Looks like they just sorted-out the streaming, so at least that's one less problem. Now they just need to field a product people will want to watch.

    • @Mark-gp3cc
      @Mark-gp3cc 5 дней назад +1

      Correa is probably untradeable. It's unlikely that he would pass another team's physical exam. The Twins are stuck with him so they need to plan for the times when he is disabled.

  • @Mark-gp3cc

    The Twins have already rebuilt mpst of their pitching staff. Starters Ober, Lopez, and Ryan are good. Richardson is good enough. Festa is improving. Relievers Jax, Duran, Sands and Alcala are good. None of these pitchers should be traded. Paddack and Varland have potential value only as Relievers, not Starters. Derek Falvey makes mostly bad trades; his roles should be changed if the Twins insist on keeping him employed. Falvey may be good at obtaining players for the Twins minor league teams, but he shouldn't be making trades. Falvey also isn't good at signing players to reasonable salaries; Vazquez and some other players are paid too much.

    Rebuilding and Rightsizing are one and the same term in this situation. The high dollar players do not fit the little engine that could business model. To their credit the Pohlads have never lied about their intentions to remain profitable at all cost so they will never pour the money it would require to push this roster over the hump. So that leaves the Twins just one path to success which is catching lightning in a bottle with a bunch of young cheap players. “Rebuilding” is unfortunately probably the right move to bring the roster and the self imposed financial constraints in line with each other.

    They need front end pitching and more bullpen arms. They have bats coming up. Maybe they should trade some for something better than a #3 starter. Lopez needs a huge bounce back season. He was garbage last year. Almost every game he starts he allows a 1st inning bomb and the Twins start the game down a couple runs. It was like clockwork. If pablo is starting put money on a 1st inning jack and you will win more money than you lose. I like Joe Ryan and Ober has some grit to him. To me Pablo is overrated and gives you something to feel good about maybe once a month. Usually very frustrated with his starts. Duran needs a rebound season as well. He used to be unhittable now not so much. Jax is quality. If they want to be the Rays and As theu need to get better pitchers. The Twins trot out 3 #3 starters thats not gonna get it done. None of them have amazing stuff.

    I say they trade prospects. The Twins haven’t impressed me with developing their prospects and bringing them up. A few years ago it was all about Buxton and Sano neither of whom have really done well. Sano is gone and Buxton can’t play the majority of a season after spending a couple years as a very unimpressive player.

    I think they are better than a team that needs to rebuild. That being said, the window is coming to a close. Give them 2025. The pieces are there. You need depth to cover your butt on your 3 injury prone studs (and hope Royce Lewis remembers what a baseball is) and a few pitching additions. After that, a little injury luck and this is a playoff team. That being said, I am a Twins optimist, much to my peril.

  • @Mark-gp3cc
    @Mark-gp3cc 5 дней назад +1

    The Twins have already been rebuilt at most positions. They must keep the young players that can be good: 3rd B - Lewis, 2nd B - Lee, 1st B - Miranda, Outfield: Wallner, Larnach, Castro. None of these players should be traded; they could improve if the Twins have good hitting coaches. The Twins are stuck with Correa at SS and Buxton in CF; they are very good players but could be disabled at any time. The Twins have other minor league players that can be good - they shouldn't be traded. The keys to Twins success are good hitting coaches. Trying to launch balls for Home Runs usually is bad hitting strategy; with RISP it leads to strikeouts and wasted scoring opportunities with baserunners LOB. Joe Mauer could be a very good hitting coach.

    Twins management needs to trade Vasquez, Paddick, Castro, and kirilloff to open up salary, then add 10 million from last year's payroll to bring in players that will make a difference.

    • @Razorbacks1
      @Razorbacks1 5 дней назад +1

      Here’s the problem Ben, letting Kepler, Santana, Margot, Thielbar and Farmer go will only cover the guaranteed increases in salary for Buxton, Correa and Lopez. Factor in that several Twins are eligible for arbitration like Castro, Larnach, Ober etc. and even before you add a single new player, the payroll will be around $133 million and Pohlad has already said he’s sticking at $130 million.
      No one wants Kiriloff, Vazquez or Paddack. Would you want to take on the $10 million guaranteed next year on Vazquez?

    • @elevatewithoutlimits
      @elevatewithoutlimits 5 дней назад +1

      Issue with that is to have someone take on the salary of paddack and Vazquez you will need to send them a prospect. Castro I would be for trading

    • @benjames4502
      @benjames4502 5 дней назад +1

      @@Razorbacks1I understand what you're saying, trading Vasquez will take a prospect included. The prospect we get from trading Castro may be attached to Vasquez, kinda sucks but it should work. Trading Paddick will take another minor prospect, no way around that but doable under the right circumstances. Including trading kirilloff, that should save right around 25 million so payroll should be right around 108 million. We the fans need to put pressure on ownership to spend the extra 10 million more than last year's payroll, that would give fail-vey 32 million on the free agent market. I know, I know, we're talking about the Pohlad's and fail-vey, I'm being too logical.

    • @benjames4502
      @benjames4502 5 дней назад +1

      @@elevatewithoutlimitsyou're right, the Twins will lose one net prospect from the farm system but the trades open up 25 million in payroll. Honestly, if next year goes to shit, the Twins may trade those men they signed this off season to enrich the Twins farm system.

    How about Griffin Jax in the starting rotation? I know this would create a hole in the setup role, but I could see it happening. Easier to replace a bullpen arm than a guy that has the pitch arsenal to pitch in the rotation. Lopez, Ryan, Ober, Jax, SWR looks good. Move Paddock to the bullpen or trade.
