One more recording of this piece by the composer. This is on an extremely rare "Bell" record made by the ARTo company around 1922/1923 (same parent company as the Standard Music Roll Co). All their records of any music by anybody are very rare today. This one was only put on RUclips fairly recently. I don't think it has ever been commercially reissue on LP or CD. The flip side is Jentes playing his "Rainbow Waltz". That makes three known audio recordings and two known piano rolls of the composer playing his piece. That was a record for those days!: ruclips.net/video/g3_5XY6l-a8/видео.html
Here is the very rare Aeolian Mel-O-Dee roll of this tune that Harry Jentes made in 1922 or 1923. It is another brilliant arrangement/performance, and he also changes it in several ways from the score. He even puts in a double tremolo on the repeat of the B theme to emphasize the “pathos” of that theme. It’s really neat to hear and worth checking out: ruclips.net/video/MKaq9-2jY8g/видео.html
Got to love Harry Jentes. Some truly brilliant original concepts in his novelties.
Quel pont entre ragtime et début de jazz ! et super cover; merci!
une des premières pièces du genre novelty
Interesting Dorian! But I can't hide my preference for the ragtime genre. I like the second strain! Thanks for posting!
0:04-0:08 has a similar style to Cleopha by Scott Joplin
