- In this full #review I will explain all the specs of the 2024 #Subaru #Outback #Wilderness and then take it for my test drive. The Wilderness is not just a package on Subaru but it adds ground clearance, more towing and more weight on the roof rails.

I have a 22 OBW. Almost 2 years and 18000 trouble free miles, love it. An absolute beast in the snow. Comfortable , reliable, all weather vehicle.
Congratulations they are great vehicles and thanks for the buy’s insight
My wife and I bought a new 2023 OB Wildnerss in White with the sunroof and onboard Nav. We love it. It was between this and a 4runner. I couldn't justify the price of a 4runner with gas prices. The OB Wilderness seemed to fit our needs better.
🎉 I agree it has great value 👍
The OBW is a Great vehicle, but the 4Runner will last at least 1/2 million miles.
We didn’t need the Wilderness, as our (my wife’s) Outback is used as her car pool vehicle. She drives only 2 weeks a month to and from work.
But when Subaru finally decides to catch up with everyone else with a hybrid, then we will be selling her OBW and buying her a hybrid.
If the Toyota Venza would adopt Subaru’s symmetrical AWD system, then we would definitely be buying a Venza.
Until then we’ll keep driving our outdated technology Subie’s from before the millennium.
Thanks for your owners insight 👍
I like the vehicle. I don't like the gas mileage. It's a shame that Subaru in 2023/2024 still doesn't offer any real hybrid engine options..
A hybrid would be awesome with this trim 👍
Until the battery goes bad And IT COAST AS MUCH AS The vehicle!! And batteries ARE BAD About Going BAD !!!
@@bwaters698Hybrid batteries are usually long lasting. Toyota hybrids have been running for more than 10-15 years with the original battery.
@@Gopinathk17 So you say I have heard Otherwise!!
@@bwaters698Yes, hybrids are reliable.
Wow, by raising it up another inch, it looks more like a true Jeep, than a station wagon, that it essentially is…. I’m loving my 23 Crosstrek, but that looks awesome!
I agree 👍
@@HawkeyeRides I will say price has risen, it is 47k in Canada, and the base full size Wrangler is 44k. I’m not sure if the Wrangler is AWD though. 2023 Outback started at 31k base, now 37k Canadian, prices on Subbies are climbing unfortunately.
I distinctly ordered the Antartic Blue Super Sports Wagon with the C.B. and optional rally fun pack.
They are awesome congratulations 🎉
You think you hate it now.. just wait until you drive it!
Since you seem to know a lot about the OBW, do you know if one can stow the rear cargo cover under the back floor like one can on other Outback models? I'm just wondering if the full-size spare takes away the needed space for the cargo cover. Thanks!
Yes it can
@@HawkeyeRides Awesome, thanks!
Did Subaru make the mono wide angle camera standard for 24 Outbacks?
Yes
Being that this trim is for the adventure initiated, will the front cup holders or door cup holders fit a 32 oz. Nalgene bottle?
It will fit in the door panel
@HawkeyeRides ah okay, thank you for replying.
Nice job as always.
Thank you, I appreciate that 👍
did they fix the thermal control valve issue?
It’s the same, no changes
Had a 2023 OBW white for a short period of time. Found out moving to Florida so traded it for a Jeep Wrangler with an MSRP of nearly 15 k more. Jeep looks great and the top coming off is a plus…but otherwise the Outback should have cost more. Room, features, handling, everything goes to the OBW. If I wasn’t in Florida would not have made the trade…OBW safety features way above the Wrangler. Only thing I didn’t like on OBW was the CVT, you can feel it lurching now and then.
Miss the Outback comfort and space.
I agree the value, safety but it would be better without a cvt 👍
you said the wireless charging option is not available in outback wilderness? or did I hear it wrong?
It’s not available in the base, all other trims it’s an option :
www.subaru.com/vehicles/outback/specs-trim.html
@@HawkeyeRidesOhhh okay, I guess it is optional in the US. But it is standard here in Canada I think
Yeah.. this is high on my buy list. We are in Sarasota and really every year now we have 1-2 bad floods and my Prius is getting too low for what we have to deal with. I am stuck on Venza/HIghlander vs Forester/Outback. I love the Toyota Hybrid systems.. but they are still a pain to get and aren't as high as an Outback/Forester. I do know as much Id love it, I wont get the 2.4 Turbo.. im worried about all the extra costs. Great job on pointing out the Forester and Outback
The Outback is awesome definitely look at the Wilderness over in Wesley chapel they have a lot of them 👍
My next car! I can’t wait I’ve never had this brand only Toyota and Acura. But this thing looks sweet!
They are congratulating when you get it
My neighbor has one. It looks really nice.
They are nice vehicles
What did you mean by your "ventilated seats" comment? I know the OBW has heated seats but do some of the higher OB trims have heated and ventilated seats? Nice job on the video - lots of information packed into it.
The Touring XT get ventilated seat and Napa Leather 👍
@@HawkeyeRides Ah, okay, thanks!
Just something I noticed - towing for the Hyundai Santa Cruz is 5,000 lbs, so this is not more than the Hyundai
That’s a truck I’m comparing to the Santa Fe (Outback is an suv) 👍
26mpg hwy from cvt why? Shouldn’t cvt give you way better? My v6 pathfinder get that on the hwy.
That’s not bad MPG’s for the size of the vehicle 👍
@@HawkeyeRidesI suspect it's a cost cutting move rather than pure efficiency. My 2022 Pathfinder is heavier and bigger, gets over all 24MPG combined, HWY it easily get 26 or more mpg in ECO mode. I expect Outback to get to say at least 30MPG to justify the CVT, and this is why CVT isn't widely adapted by the consumers. It does not offer a great driving experience nor does it offer outstanding MPG, I never understand why Subaru stick with it, but they are probably the largest buyer of it and get it cheap.
My dad had “StarTex” interior in his 1972 Opel GT, but back then it was called VINYL.
They have to change with the times 😁
@@HawkeyeRides Same thing, different name.
But this time it’s 1990 Gloomy, depressing, drab, outdated 34 year old GREY
Can it do 0-60 in 6 3 seconds?
It does it around this time 👍
Cons: CVT, no manual controls and now have to menu dive, very cheap materials. Mmi system is slow and glitchy. You have to reset it by unhooking battery to reset it.
Thank you for your insight 👍
Ok? Bye Felicia
@@MikeyD64 Why you triggered?
@@ryanb8736you comment nothing but negativity and you’re shocked that people are ‘triggered’? Stop begging for attention by being completely negative and people won’t be ‘triggered’.
Lots of room in there considering you're 6'3
I agree 👍
