As a cashier what people don’t realize is as long as you’re honest and super kind, I’ll do anything and everything in my power to help you with whatever you need
It really depends on the manager whether you have to be nice or assertive and firm. I always start out nice but when I see it taking a turn to not fixing anything then I get assertive and firm. I dealt with a manager yesterday at Walgreens checking me out and my P&G register reward I was trying to pay with came up with an error message saying "not valid, spend total not met" mind you I had well over $60 in p&g products alone. So after she argued with me about the amount I said, "that's fine we can disagree on this but here's another p&g RR to try." Then she changed her story to - "you can't use more than 1 RR at a time to pay." Completely wrong!! So I say, "try scanning it and we'll see what the machine does." Of course it worked. All that to say, managers don't know their couponing policy like they should and you have to watch and speak up.
I had a situation at Walgreens last weekend. But before I could say anything the manager barked at me. I waited my turn and told him he forgot to scan an item and ask for a post void. I was extremely polite, patient and thanked him profusely. In the end he was very gracious for my honesty.
Yesterday I did not get my P&G 10.00 coupon buying large Gain Oxi and 2 pampers! NO employee in the store including the manager knew about the promotion! Nothing in the store was tag either...so frustrating. They did give me 10.00 in Walgreens cash. Crazy that couponers are training employees.
Yes! I started couponing in 2017 and used paper coupons back then and have slowly transitioned to mostly digital coupons. When it comes to really any mishaps you come across in life, always always always be kind, have patience, and be considerate. I also worked otp customer service for years and I hated when people talked to me like I was scum because of there issue when I truly only tookthe job because I enjoy helping people.. (it made me not want to help anymore tbh) Most people will go above and beyond when you are nice to them!!
Sometimes, though, you can be too nice (passive) with them though. At my walgreens, I've notice that they'll bend over backwards to talk with me like friends, but when something goes wrong, they don't cross back over onto customer care. They won't help with anything.

At my store, if coupons don't work, they like to make up ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to explain why .. and why they can't do anything about it. I usually do a void or post void, because I just don't feel like dealing with customer service.
Ive had so many times where gotten things for free over mistakes justvalways be kind and nice. And yes youll find our who the bad apples are like with dollar general theres one store they dont honor any deals they have but the one i actualy live by is willing to return and properly charge me for clearance even though its been a little over a month because i thought i had to take back to other store but he assured me nope he can do it why not. Im like wow ive never had such a great cashier at dg! Such a sweet young man and he just told me yesterday hes expecting a baby!! 🎉 he was so excited to tell me i love when people just are just kind. Ive always worked with people and i didnt like my jons but always treated people with kindness its my job but seems today and some areas its not like that.
Sry but I've found over the years that being nice doesn't really work!!! Cu I've tried that many many many times and usually the person will just say yeah cant help you then I have to ask for a manger and basically demand help...maybe it's the area I live in idk but it's actually sad
It’s so easy to make mistakes. I’ve definitely made a few lately! Plus, this week Kroger has one sale where you need 3 items to save $2 each and a different sale where you need 5 in order to get them each for 99c. On top of that I was trying to make sure I got the right number of Ibotta rebates. Thankfully it worked for me this time and all that counting and recounting of my cart was worth it. 😅
I love storytime ❤. I am always kind to the cashiers. To the point that this week, when Wags was out of pg products everywhere, they found 2 Bounty paper towels in the back for me to roll them rrs one more time 😁
I went to Meijer yesterday, and there weren't any peelie coupons on any of the salad dressing bottles.😢 However, I was able to get the 2 mouthwash and flossers. Thanks, Rachel! ❤😊
Good job my Walgreens know me and I like that they all respect me and like you say sometimes the mistakes are mine like not handling over the coupons before she hit the total button 😮
Catalina machine at my store goes up and down. I have gotten in the habit of asking the managers or leads if it is working before I put products in my cart 😊
I wish they were that nice to me. I asked nicely when the Catalina machine stopped working if there was some way to issue Walgreens cash and he told me to go to website. I asked if mgr could do anything and she comes and tells me the same thing to go to website because they are not allowed to give Walgreens cash in place of register rewards. I submitted the requests 2 weeks ago and just this morning I received email with the resolution that they are being mailed to me.
I had a bad experience the other day at dg, I happen to have the Territorial manager phone number. I was over charged I went back to get a refund. She checked the price on the shelf and found out I was right. Anyway she kept putting others in front or me. She said she was help me when there was no one else in line. Guess what when I. Called the district manager, he called them I became the next person in line
I wanted to do a deal this morning, but iffy about it. But i do have 2 questions regarding it. Is it possible for me to do the colgate toothpaste/mouthwash deal in the same transaction as the crest/oral-b? Secondly, with the $5 P&G promotion is the minimum spend requirement $15? ❤TIA

I like this video because Im always making mistakes or have other issues, so frustrating. So yes those mistakes add up. Glad I’m not the only one.

was it tagged at your store? if it wasn't they have rights to refuse (tags said selected stores)
I think the Pampers are only Easy Ups that are printing..not sure if only certain sizes

customer care helped me with $6 missed coupons two weeks back. they always seem very fair

This happened to me twice in the last two weeks - two different Walgreens 1st one ripped my receipt and voided the transaction 2nd one just refused
My store will not credit miss RR. They do nothing to help; they give ph numb to call. All the old cashier/mgr are gone. All new crew in walgreens. 😢

they have to put in a ticket with head office. Failing that you need a manager to credit you missed RR

Wow! My Meijer is terrible. Sometimes I go out of my way by 30 minutes to shop at a different one.
