I enjoyed this video!
After retrieving my luggage from the carousel at NAIA 1, I noticed that people were being randomly picked to have their carry-on bags x-rayed at the "customs" section.
All persons and baggage are subject to search at any time.
@@lilys5095 The crazy thing is that some people were ignoring the x-ray people and walked right passed them. Sorry, but I think it's just another shakedown operation.
This biggest problem is the lack of clarity in the legal language. There is a difference between personal items and items being brought in commercial quantities (anything more than 12 of per item ie. 12 iPhones or for example 12 of the same exact lipstick new and in boxes because new and in boxes means they will be sold somehow? Apparently personal items don’t need to be declared unless more than 12 and they are not clearly brand new in box. What if they’re clearly used items? Who decides this with no system in place to prove this? Is there a system in place to challenge incorrect judgements? Are the customs people legally certified court judges and law scholars? I wonder how many innocent people had to pay so much money on personal items because the tax and penalty fees add up so someone may have to pay 30-60% of a laptop that they already paid for along with taxes where they purchased it? The Language was either clearly written by someone that isn’t very intelligent or by someone that left the language open to interpretation so that customs can basically do whatever they want and it all falls under policy 🤦🏻♂️ either way this is very shameful and detailed clarification is warranted. Why should someone need to be a legally certified lawyer in the Philippines just to understand policies that should be simple/clear enough for the average person to understand without the risk of these policies being open to interpretation which can lead to the policies being wielded like a weapon by a corrupt person or someone who’s simply in a terrible mood that would like to take it out on random people to feel better about themselves. Sadly there are cases everywhere were people abuse their power for many reasons Shouldn’t there be policies in place that guarantee a trusted agent or government employee should remain professional? No matter how angry, hurt etc etc no one should ever have to be at the receiving end me of such unprofessional behavior. I always ensure no matter how I feel I do not ever take my personal problems, regardless of my problems origins, out on anyone!
thank you
To the poster of this video , please reply to the questions asked below
Good Day! How about skin care and phone that personal use?! Do I have to declare?!
Could you give us the link?? This is only good if you are arriving NAIA terminal 1?? Thank you.
What happens if someone doesnt fill out the online form?
I'm going to Philippines next month to be with my wife and bringing gifts from my work which I know will be considered commercial quantity but my question is I'm going to declare them obviously, but I got them for free from my work. I have written proof that my work pays less then $1 for each and my business sells them for $7+. It's around 60 of the item so if its the value my work sells at i'm gonna need to pay taxes and if bought value or since I got for free it's below the 10,000peso allowance. Not sure which amount to write as the value. Figured i'd ask here to see if I get an answer since i've had no luck anywhere else.
customs.gov.ph/guidelines-for-airport-passengers/
Do I still need to specify the "Total Amount purchased or acquired abroad" on the customs declaration form even if they are all personal items or pasalubong? Also can we go over 10k peso in that amount?
How about the gold jewelries if they are personal use, but let's say for example,I have more than 3 pairs of earrings, 5 bracelets, 5 necklaces etc. do I still need to declare them? tick mark as yes?.
I really find the online ideclare form confusing especially for used jewelry that are for personal use only.
@@marilesyoung Agree. It doesn't make sense to declare considering balikbayan we're out of the country long and had personal items accumulated over the years as personal possession.
Confusing talaga yung jewelry pati ako na confuse.
If they are personal items and not in commercial quantities, no need to declare. You can actually wear those jewelries or handcarry them.
Hi i will be flying to Philippines this May with my two minor kids and i have 1 iphone 14 my personal phone and 3 iphones for pasalubong to my sisters its used not new do i need to declare it? If so do i need to pay so much for the tax?
What about Personal Computer? Can I bring?
I will be landing in NAIA terminal 1, is it ok to just fill out the custom declaration from the Phil Airlines onboard. Please reply. Thanks so much!
Yes
Do I need to apply a form if I don't need to declare anything? I think not. Thanks :D
From what I know, yes - as you are declaring/attesting that you don’t have those products.
Ok thanks. I did not do that last time (apply a form) when I arrived to Manila 2.5 months ago. Now I'm coming again.@@lilys5095
Yes
Do i have to tell them the price of my phone even if im only bringing in one and also the value of my clothes?
No need if personal items.
TO THE LADY VLOGGER
Ask lng po bakit hindi na kami dumaan ng customs from UK and Kuwait airlines. Wala naman po kaming valuables at taxable goods. Ok lng po ba yun. Dumating po kami July 31, 2023 at nag deretso na kami sa immigration.
Yes, that is ok.
I’m a Balikbayan returning to Manila on August 23…how much is the duty and tax exemption privilege of Balikbayans like me for bringing brand new personal effects and goods for personal use needed during the stay in the Philippines, but are not in Commercial quantity? Are Balikbayans considered as Returning Residents?
Hello. Are you a former Filipino citizen?
@@AdventuresinAmericaUSA1 yes.
Can I screen Cr code in iPhone
Yes you can.
Can you bring chocolate candy for the kids. And if so how much
Yes. As long as they are for personal use or pasalubong, there shouldn't be a problem.
@@AdventuresinAmericaUSA1 can you only bring so much. It’s for the kids I. the province
What about Balikbayans are we considered Returning Residents?
Balikbayan is a blanket term for:
1) Filipino citizens who have been away from country for at least 1 year
2) Overseas Filipino workers
3) Former Filipinos naturalized in a country listed in EO 408 returning to PH
@@lilys5095 so would you then consider Balikbayans as Returning Residents? EO 408 was more about entering the Philippines visa free for 30:days and for Former Filipinos (Balikbayans) one year stay.
@@marilesyoung
No. Not all Balikbayans are returning residents.
Pano kung dual citizen

I'm soon too visit Philippines too visit my future wife. She wants me too bring chocolate for, and also ask me to bring whiskey and cigarettes for her dad. How much can I bring
Me too, how will you store the chocolate in luggage, covering it with aluminum foil?
I’ve never declared chocolates. However for alcohol and cigarettes, I think you have to declare if it is more than a certain quantity.
customs.gov.ph/guidelines-for-airport-passengers/
I suggest you just buy at the duty free in terminal 1 at NAIA upon your arrival, same as chocolate to avoid the hassle.
@@Patrik777_may nakita akong video ng mga pinay pauwi ng pinas yung chocolates nila nilagay lang nila sa luggage hindi nmang nilagyan ng aluminum foil
Salamat @@patamachallenge305
