  • Following the print release of my workbook ‘Fun With Spikes’, I have been having fun with the hackle patterns to create repeatable patterns and plan the look of my yarns right from the prep stage. Here is an example of one of the patterns in the workbook, turned into lovely combed top and spun into a spirals and coils art yarn! If you are interested in finding out more about making patterns for your hackle loading, check out the workbook and accompanying video tutorial :) in the shop now at fiberygoodness.com

I absolutely loooooove the colour choices and the yarn! This type of yarn made my brain explode with excitement the first time I saw it. I knew nothing about spinning then but knew without a doubt that I must learn to spin art yarn. It still excites me many years later.❤❤❤

Thanks so much for sharing. I’m getting ready to do your combing class, so this video is perfect timing. Question, what program are you using on your iPad?

I’m using Procreate, but you can use any drawing app that lets you make lines and add colour :)

How did you wash this gorgeous spin to set the twist?

Hi! I soaked it for five minutes in hot/warm water, dropped it into cool water then pressed out the excess and hung it to dry :) The warm water helps it to bloom and makes the puffs even puffier
