This is only partially true, it wasn't all the doing of KFC marketing and they never claimed for it to be an American tradition. Most Japanese homes don't have large ovens to accommodate making a turkey at home, but the Japanese wanted to have an American-like Christmas dinner. That's when KFC decided to lean in heavy on the Christmas marketing and suggests their chicken as an alternative to a turkey dinner.

America cant have this ironically
I have it tho but I won't share
I don't know if everyone else in the US had kfc for Christmas, but that actually was tradition for me.
Honestly it's not bad
This is only partially true, it wasn't all the doing of KFC marketing and they never claimed for it to be an American tradition. Most Japanese homes don't have large ovens to accommodate making a turkey at home, but the Japanese wanted to have an American-like Christmas dinner. That's when KFC decided to lean in heavy on the Christmas marketing and suggests their chicken as an alternative to a turkey dinner.
A single tear would come to my eyes if on Christmas there was people who cared let alone bought kfc having people in ur life would be neat
In Canada KFC is synonymous with picnics
I never ate nor met anyone who eats kfc for Christmas dinner
Where are you from?
@@imtree834 jersey
Go to Japan then you'll meet someone who eats KFC at Christmas
That's the most Japanese looking romanji handwriting on that note.😂
I would order it just for that beautiful tiramisu except that in the USA it will likely be filled with unthinkable chemicals they don’t use in the Japanese version as always 😢
I wannnttt can we in America eat kfc every Christmas like the Japanese?!!
Tbf no one’s stopping ya. 😂
(Canada doesn’t have something NEARLY this fancy, but our KFCs do include a cheesecake with buckets around the holidays)
“Happy Christmas” - Japan
Started a lovely tradition. Birds, beautiful plates and extravagant desserts.
Now I recently learned that KFC is one of the least favorite fast food chains in America. It's apparently more popular in Asia.
I had it in Colombia it’s 10x better
KFC Slaps 🍗 👋
KFC chicken nuggets are legit the best nuggets I've had yet from any fast food spot. Their chicken is just average compared to the nuggets lmao
Imagine being in a country with delicious food, and people choose KFC for Christmas dinner.
Every KFC here closes during Christmas. The only Christmas friendly was Subway.
The only way to be Christmas friendly is to be closed on Christmas
Is Waffle House closed or open on Christmas?
We went to a Chinese restaurant on Christmas Eve
And yet people say fast food employees don't deserve 20.00/hr but people want fast food employees to work on a holiday like Christmas instead spending time with their own family.
Christmas is the only day kfc closes in 🇹🇹
That's a dam lie, everything is closed on Christmas in America except Walmart and quick stops and convenience stores
Don’t forget Chinese restaurants
Japanese people get the KFC in Christmas Eve, not Christmas.
my Walmart closes on Christmas
A grocery store and McDonald's are open in my town on Christmas.
They are open on Christmas they just close early
This normally pre-ordered between 14 to 7 days prior to christmas.
And the package each year are different.
Remember, they make the food better over there.

Nah kfc for Christmas is a sad day 😂
Merry Christmas ❌
Happy Christmas ✅
Someone in Japan rn: “Wait, yall don’t eat the Colonel for Christmas” 👁️ 👄 👁️
i feel like its a bit far but i want christmas like this 😔
Well cereal companies conviced us that breakfast was "the most important meal of the day"
And the KFC in japan is DELICIOUS so I'm not even complaining lmao
Now, they’re bringing this tradition into Taiwan this year
I remember one year for thanksgiving no one had prepared anything for the meal so we decided to dip out to kfc and get a few family meals, one of my favorite childhood memories
This is a real tradition, it's a pity there isn't one in my country.
We eating kfc where gojo and geto broke their friendship with this one 🥶
Dude. Christmas of 2020 in Japan. Even from what I remember learning about the world and how everyone was affected by the pandy, I still cannot imagine what that would’ve been like. They cracked down hard and didn’t relent longer than most of the world.
It was actually American soldiers not having easy access to Turkey so they settled on chicken and then KFC just capitalized on that tradition to make it what it is today.
It's kinda funny because some people in america used to eat Chinese food on xmas
That’s actually a sick little box tho
That was how any tradition started anywhere arround the world.
Lol this is seriously heartwarming.
I think the Japanese are so used to doing it every year it has became their own Christmas tradition.
That looks way better than our KFCs
I'd like that tradition here xD
They need to bring that here!!!
Ngl, that’s fire. If we had that here in the Philippines, majority of the country’s population will indeed have KFC for Christmas. 😂
If you're single and alone, it is what you eat for Christmas.
Japan was tricked to celebrate Christmas by so many companies😅
That KFC is way better then ours, also since when has KFC been Christmas tradition, can we start it now, i seriously want that teramesu cake 😅
