Thank you JamesonDIY! Absolutely the most complete, through Video on this subject!!! The best thing for me was feeling the radiator hoses to make sure the thermostat was open and up to full operating temp. The process takes a bit longer, but you can be sure all the air is out following this video. Great job. Cheers from Motown/Dearborn.

I'm pretty sure your lower hose is colder because that's the inlet to the engine from the radiator and your upper hose is the outlet from the engine. The lower hose will be cooler because the coolant has been cooled from the radiator.

Bleeder screw is sometimes on radiator housing.

A couple things, what I did is remove the top large radiator hose, and I filled up the engine block with coolant first, then i put the hose back and filled up the radiator, all before turning the car on.
Your TPMS light can be turned off, there are multiple videos that show u how to do it.
I get the TPMS on my Mustang when I disconnect the battery. Goes away by itself after driving a few miles.
How do you keep it from overflowing? Just turning it off and waiting to cool and trying again?

Do I let the truck cool down before removing the burp funnel?
Several of the spill-free funnels have sticks that you can stick down in the opening to stop or plug the funnel so you can remove even when hot and filled with coolant. Proceed with caution though.
I have same motor.can I burp it when it is at opererating temperature. Meaning when it is warmed up .I already took off cap I'm ok.i dont have to do it when it's cold correct
The bottom hose is way cooler than top hose by radiaror
Also I topped it off before I done the burp.is that how you do it
Most cars have expansion tank if this is not kept full while bleeding from Radiator air will enter back into cooling the system

So I tried this and the coolant got hot an overflowed out of the funnel and went all over the floor. What could I have been doing wrong?

There is a consistent air pressure generated in cooling system of my (Sunny Nissan 1993) car. It has CD17 deisel engine. It has power and heating issues when driven for an hour or more. I tried everything with no success so far.
What if hoses collapse inwards while doing this?

When bleeding the system I get air bubbles in the funnel when I give it gas is this normal?
That might be the head gasket mate.... cylinder pressure escaping through the radiator system

It’s normal. When bleeding you want to hold the idle at under 2k for 15 sec at a time to force any trapped air out.
Your supposed to leave the fan off and put dial to hot.
