  • Hi all,
    Hope everyone is fit and well?
    Being able to release the club is a skill that needs to be done correctly, otherwise you might be wondering, 'why am I still having trouble when I think I am releasing the club!'.
    Like most movements in golf it must be done correctly, especially if you're working on a specific movement, otherwise you will be digging yourself a deeper hole in which it will be harder to recover, a slippery slope to becoming very frustrated.
    If you tend to slice the ball, achieving a release that will encourage less slice spin and more draw spin is something you must be focusing on, and this video is all about that.
    Please let me know how it goes and as usual if there's any questions please don not hesitate to ask.
    Good golfing and kind regards.
    Warren

    How I wish I’d come across your site 20 + years ago. It’s what I’ve been searching for ever since. Going to go back to basics, tough would it looks really promising. Thanks.

    Hi Warren this makes so much sense, but for the last 25 years I've been taught (which has not worked) and seen thousands of videos where they say to keep the flying wedge, etc, etc, and that the move you are showing here requires such a degree of timing that amateurs will not be able to do...? Your move makes logical sense but can a weekend golfer time it so perfectly to turn the head of the club on a dime? Thanks, love you instruction!
    Thanks!

      Thank you for the message and feedback, very much appreciated.
      From my experience if the downswing is done correctly, the golfer cannot overdo the release, so there is no fear of the left shot…but it all depends on the individual though of course, I’m mainly talking about the golfer who has a more out to in path and passive release.
      Many thanks and hope it helps.

    Thank you for the video. This helps me so much on getting a clear understanding of a right release. Do you have a video which explores the root causes of scooping, and drills to fix the root causes. Thank you!

    Great tip. Is this technique geared towards irons only or can be applied to rest of the clubs including wedges? Thanks

    • @warrenbennettgolfacademy
      @warrenbennettgolfacademy  Год назад

      I would say it is geared towards any swing that is a full swing. The closer you get to the target it is more of a straight up and down swing, like a short pitch and chip.
      Hope that helps.
      Regards

      @@davebateman25 hi Dave, apologies busy day. It’s very difficult to really put my finger on that one as there are so many ways to release, but in my experience there should be a degree of angle still in your right hand at impact. This will help with compression and sequence. Sorry it took so long to get back to you.

    When the club comes down, before the release, is this down sequence created by a force? Or gravity??
    Thanks

    • @warrenbennettgolfacademy
      @warrenbennettgolfacademy  Год назад +1

      Hi Gio,
      Thanks for the question which is a great one. This I would say is both and I would layer either gravity or force depending on the fault and standard etc of the golfer.
      Mostly the club golfer will need to have a smooth transition so allowing the club to fall is always a good and reliable feeling, but generating pressure on the club during the transition is ultimately what is required to get it on plane.
      My next video on Tuesday I explain this a little so hope this helps and also the video too.
      Kind regards
      Warren
