@@Lissa.Same. I'll be 52 in August . I am the oldest of 4 . My sister was born the year after me so I didn't get coddled or read to a lot. I had to grow up fast. I started learning to cook when I was 6 and by the time I was 11, I had two little sister's and a baby brother to have to cook for, clean up after and babysit. My mom and dad both worked so I had very little of a childhood but to be read to now in my 50's seems to fill a place and healing a place in my heart.❤
I'm 48 and have never read or had this read to me. I am reading the book a little, then I go and listen to that part in the audio. I'm convinced lately that some stories we consider as "for children" can have so much value to us as adults. The child is forever inside us, and it's ok to indulge it as much as we can amidst our adult responsibilities. This recording is so comforting to me. I actually listen to it while I work at home at my computer. I'm a single mother who has been through so much hurt and heartache, and I crave simplicity and simple comforts. This audio helps to melt away all my troubles, if only temporarily😊
@@timhall1625 Children's stories are for adults, many times. Often when I read AA Milne (Winnie the Pooh) and other stories that were boring when I was young, I laugh now because they're funny. But when I read them to my children, they didn't laugh either. I think sometimes they were written to amuse the adult who is reading to the child. I love the Van Morrison song about Badger's son found at the gates of Dawn entranced by the great god Pan. Wind in the Willows is a beautiful tale and never grows old.
Oh, if only I had this book as a child, it would have soothed so much sorrow. Thanks to you for putting in the time so we can enjoy such bliss at any age. ❤
As a new mom I love reading to my babygirl, when she wakes up in the middle of the night and being able to come back to bed and put on a nice soothing book for myself is great.... I love this RUclips channel such a calming voice, she's perfect for books
Thank you! I return to this reading over and over because it is so delightful, soothing, and beautifully read. I cannot compliment you enough. All praises to the author too, who is, of course, long gone now.❤
I have insomnia and just discovered this sleep story-telling program. Love the soft, calm voice. So nice to have something as this to listen to and not just have to wait for the night to be over. 😌🎧
Thank you so much. I need to have something playing in the night for my inevitable wake up at 3am when I start worrying about everything. Anxiety prevents me going back to sleep and I am exhausted. This is gentle and perfect, my brain listens to the srory instead of worrying. That this is one of my favourite books is a bonus. I am very grateful to you xxx
One of the last times I saw my mom in the hospital before she went " home" to Jesus, I walked in at 2 am and she was watching cartoons and listening to this book. God bless the nurses and hospital staff for their assistance. ❤😊❤
I was a librarian at a K-8 school and this book was one of about five books that I recommended every time. It's adorable and what a book should be -- a healthy escape in a busy world. Not all the kids liked my recommendation but those readers among us truly loved it! It was one of my favorites and growing up 1.5 hours from Disneyland I couldn't wait to get into that line and experience it for real!
I've had a massive sinus headache today, not wanting to rest but made myself rest. I've been listening to this all afternoon. What a relaxing, interesting, captivating story & beautiful narration. This may be a children's story but I've never heard it. Thank you for posting this video/audiobook.❤
Azelastine Hydrochloride was prescribed to me it is a nasal spray. I finally went to an allergist a wonderful doctor from India. I learned I did not have allergies but that my issues were all sinus issues. I trashed my allergy meds and now just use the spray. You may want to look into it. Best of luck!
This is so lovely!! This is one of my favorite books as a child and listening to it like this with this wonderful voice is such a joy and I’m so grateful for it. My mother used to read this to me and then I would read it on my own. I’ve read it so many times. Such a lovely treat this is. ♥️🙏🏼
Loved your reading and voice. I always enjoy these long readings and not just music for most of the story. Thank you for the lovely story. I fell asleep quickly and will be enjoying this many more times.
Stops after around 40 ish minutes where ever I start it. why ? Love narrators voice, expression and pace, interesting enough to keep my mind from wandering into stress land, yet calm enough not too keep me awake
Absolutely loved this!! I had read this book as a kid and really enjoyed hearing it. Lovely memories. It did take me several nights as I kept falling asleep, so I really appreciated the time and chapter marks.
I am lying in bed listening to this wonderful story, told by such a beautiful soothing voice, l am once more back to my childhood ❤❤❤❤ listening intently as my imagination paints a beautiful picture in my mind, even though l am in my seventys 😂😂😂❤
Yay ,the beautiful sound of this woman's voice . Thank you . Sleep well all ,and when you wake please I ask that you show love to your fellow person xx
Hearing this as an adult it reminds me of subtle undertones of social issues I would have missed as a child. Really enjoyed. This reader is very pleasant to listen to.
Thank you for this reading. I enjoy it very much. It's nice to fall asleep listening to the story, knowing that it won't change to annoying music or white noise.❤❤❤
Perfect. I’m in love with this woman’s voice, I’d listen to her read the entire Chicago phone book unabridged. Thank you is too weak a word. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️
Very pleasant voice! And I love this story! Though I admit I’d never heard it till I subscribed to the Calm app ( which I love). This is a very soothing version too. ❤❤
The wind and the willow is my favorite movie/book/audio of all time, so I was really excited. But, it wasn’t Thomas reading.. I’m sorry, but Thomas is the only person I like. If you could, could you get to remake this??
I feel like a 66 yo kid listening to this kind lady. It feels great to be a kid again. Thank you!😊
I know right I feel like a 50 year old kid!! And her voice is so soothing ❤😂
As a former subscriber to the Calm app, I really appreciate having a full book read to me. It lulls me to sleep night after night.
As a child non of these stories were ever told/shared thus I listen now; a 51 yr young woman with the warm imagination I keep within me.
I was lucky to have a little short golden story book as a child but this full length is wonderful, 52 this year and yes, keep our imagination ❤

Brings me back to my childhood when my mother would read us bedtime stories. So comforting
oh great! I'm 63 and this was my favorite book when my children were little! Idk if they love it now, but I do🤠
It’s cool that older people feel awesome about this and these stories again. ❤

Thank you for a complete reading and not 30 minutes of reading and new age music. This is great.
💯💛
Sounds like music to me. Why is that necessary? It seems annoying and distracting to me.
@@rosaoddin4338there is background music. But lots of the stories are short followed by several hours of music without any story reading.
I love the music makes it very soothing
This is the only thing that calms me down lately
This woman has the most soothing voice ever and I love this book.
I totally agree
Do we know if she has anymore audiobooks? A name?
This voice is annoying as hell! She tried to hard.

One of my favorite childhood stories and Ms Elizabeth’s voice is perfect, hope to hear more from her!
I do like Liz or Elizabeth's voice. Most female voices are a bit too high pitched for me. Her voice is similar to my grandma's.
