  • I normally don’t ride weekends because of the higher amounts of traffic, but made a quick decision after a couple coffees this morning to just get out for a ride.
A little bit of a chilly start, anything that was groomed, was hard as a rock, so scratchers down to start the day.
With no real ride plan in place, I decided to just head north, of course. Made it up to Skinners Bluff as I haven’t been up there in years, then started making my way back south.
Excellent 524km day overall, I think I only saw between 50-75 sleds all day and trails were very nice almost everywhere I went. There were definitely a few bumpy sections in the afternoon, but nothing terrible.
Sometimes, getting out for a ride by yourself are some of the best rides to be had.
Job well done by all clubs!

Right on man! Looks like a great ride. We ride a lot of the same trails. Cool to watch on the tv. I also never thought of putting gas can in rear storage bag. Cool idea.

If you have the same travel bag as I do, you’ll need to find the small 5L wedco gas cans as they’re narrower, and then cauterize the vent.
I can fit those 2 cans, folding saw, tools, tow strap, spare wheels, noco charger, my coffee container, and a few other items in there.
Pt 2 & 3 yet to come, stay tuned!

In Bruce County yesterday were amazing but my carbides were done. Losing trails is sad especially when you see F wits tracks all over the place off trail

@@speeder757 definitely, I couldn’t believe the amount of road running up near Wiarton. Was thankful they were snow covered for the most part.
On my way back south through mount forest, there were tracks off trail all over the place, unfortunately.

@@speeder757 I actually just upgraded to Elka shocks and it made a massive improvement in ride quality and comfort. Completely changed the sled!
After 14,000kms, I decided to just keep the sled, but I knew I needed a better shock package.
I’m hoping for another 15-20,000kms before I decide to upgrade my sled, if I do lol
Four strokes are the way to go if you plan on keeping your sled long term and for putting on the miles!

Looks like a great year for snow.. I would have a difficult time starting my Yamaha for the first time of the day but then after that it was great.. I wish I could put a pic of mine up.. I had the 2006 Yamaha Attak with the 998 Genesis 4 stroke.. I would get 12-14 mpg.. Do you know what your mpg is? I know you deal with km? Do you also deal with liters?

@@darinsmith2458 mine is parked in my heated shop, so no problems starting if I’m leaving from home. On cold days if it’s been outside all night, it always gives me grief on the first start of the day, sometimes I have to boost it.
Haven’t really done the math, but I know I can get 200kms per tank if I’m just taking it easy. 38L tank I believe
