That ending make me think of something. Early last year I found an animatic for "Ready as I'll Ever Be" and I think it was set to the same AU. I could be wrong, but Dib's silhouette in the glass made me think about it. I'll look it up and link later.

Holy cow you guys you really blew this one out of the water!!! I’m just sitting here with the biggest smile on my face! You all did an excellent job bringing my boys to life, in every way. The editing with Gir? Priceless. Absolutely priceless. I was in stitches! And the boys on the boat were so sweet, I thought my teeth were going to get cavities 😊. And that ending… well… :)

This is the only AU where I ship Dib and Zim. In canon or when one of them is an Irken? No. When they are both human or Irken? Yes.(But that is because Zim is like older than all humans on Earth soooo)
