- This is not the complete version of the Mopiness of Doom episode - this is a (slightly modified) version of the episode that was shown at the Soapy Waffles panel at InvaderCON July 2012. Once the animation is complete we will be releasing the full episode on youtube at a later point in time. For now, we hope you enjoy our work-in-progress. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Yeah, because her always being a jerk to Dib will never get old. What they did to her character in the comics and movie was necessary in order to keep her sympathetic and actually engage her in the plot in a meaningful way.
Lol maybe she was just jealous of the attention her dad gave dib.
GIR and Dib have one of my favorite dynamics. Like they're on opposite sides but they're so friendly and nonchalant with each other, even more so in the comics

Stuff like this is proof that Zim was never cut out to be an Invader. The Irken's purpose is to subvert, conquer and commence the Organic Sweep and then repeat the process over and over again forever for the over convenience of the Armada. The Irken relish how they have nothing that can realistically stand in their way. They embrace their obsessive hivemind culture with complete synchronicity
Zim for some reason CANT do that he can't just do something to commence the Sweep even tho nothing can realistically stop him. He WANTS to be stopped. It's not enough Zim conquers Earth it's that Dib bends the knee on top of that. In Zim's mond one cannot exist without the other
because it's revealed Zim is a defect especially since his pak is a defect the thing that is worn on his back that is given to all of them when "born" of course Zim refuses to really believe that, but by the literal ship telling him that his pak and him are just not like the others. that there was always something wrong with him. that he's defective which is also why he was banished along with just destroying things over and over again even if on the home planet.

10 minutes to doom would've been the series finale and Zim would've died there but nickelodeon said "what if we wanted to make more content of Zim later" so they made him not die and eventually the episode never even released

They need each other to stay challenged and motivated. (Even Dib let go of himself and never left his room when he thought Zim disappeared in “enter the florpus”.) Yet they continue to fight and sabotage each other to no end. 😂
But for some reason, I feel like if they somehow became friends, they’d probably make an unstoppable team.

Dib and Zim can't live without each other. Zim without Dib will lose any confidence in his importance, because only Dib seriously assessed Zim - as an enemy who is capable of destroying the earth. And Zim is the only one who didn't call Dib truly crazy, since Zim knows that he is an alien and Dib isn't lying about it.This small connection with mutual recognition of each other as enemies and danger creates a strong bond between these guys, because they are the only ones in both of their lives who do this to each other. I love that part about them
This looks like an old flash animation. I love it's quality
It's definitely not as fluid as the show but the choppy flash animation is really charming, wish we could've seen this one and the rest of season 2 completed

It’s implied throughout the show that they value the rivalry between eachother greatly; they inadvertently give each other alot of validation and in turn motivation in life!! And they’re soooo alike in every aspect that it’s nice to finally see an episode covering that particular topic. It makes their characters feel more rounded too when we’re able to see vulnerable moments, ESPECIALLY with zim. Like we know he has emotions deep down…. but sometimes he makes INSANE choice that leave me wondering if he ACTUALLY cares about anything at all☠ finding all this sweet lost media just makes me even sadder about the lost potential this show had 😩😩😩😩@@Eddies_Bra-att-ha-grejer

Everyone is fangirling over the relationship between Dib and Zim in this episode but I was just awwing at the relationship between Dib and his dad how even for a moment he was legitimately proud of him. Yeah he was disappointed at the end, but he didn't downgrade or belittle his son, just greatly disappointed.

idk if he really cares 100% if his son is happy or not seeing how he never has his sons back ever when it comes to his paranormal science seeing how he does have evidence of it all yet he wants nothing to do with it, or will make excuses for it.
I know there's that theory of Membrane being an Irken himself and that's why he doesn't want Dib investigating and just wants him to be a scientist like him, to avoid that conversation for another later time.
but yeah I doubt he really cares all the way if he's happy he just wants him to be like him
especially since there is one episode that was sadly never made because of being cancelled where dib goes on a journey to find out who he really is, and he finds out he's just a clone of his father.
He might not be home much, but the way Dib’s dad treats him and Gaz kinda sorta makes up for that. The guy had his back turned when Dib came in, and still ‘detected’ he was unhappy; that’s some fatherly perception right there. And he isn’t shy about physical contact when given the opportunity/time. Hugs and casually lifting his children (by the neck/cranium) to sit on his knee is surprisingly...endearing for want of a better word. The Professor is a pretty cool dad, tries to give good advice at least.

I really like this episode, not only because the relationship between Dib and Zim as nemesis is shown, but also because we can see more about Dib and Gaz relationship, she is his sister after all and she knew that something was wrong.
I've seen this topic other times, a hero without an enemy it's nothing and it's the same for the villain. Life becomes really bored without challenges. Frenemies power!!

i mean he's already tried that technically. The best example of this is his use of Tak's ship throughout the episode. he somehow had the technical know-how to reverse engineer the ship and learn enough about it to be able to use it effectively.

@@liliajenkins7887 When Nick cancelled Zim back in 2001-2002, they had recorded the audio for several episodes already, leaving us with many unfinished episodes. The voices are by the original people, but the visuals are all fan-made.
And they made their own sound effects, too.

I like how the movie plays out, Dib finally saves the world from Zim, The Irken empire is finally gone thanks to pretty much Zim and his insane plan, Dib knows his family doesn't really hate him. and still loves him, just don't care much for his antics.
But in the end, Zim is still making up crazy plans, and Dib will do...……..something....to stop him...……..somehow....
Dib's Dad still has normal arms on this one... maybe it's because he didn't know sharks weren't friends yet..

That's one of the best lines I've ever heard in my life...
But yes, these twoo really need each other, maybe that's why these series work so well, at least for me. The first think I usually seek in a series is a good character. However, this character needs to have an interesting relationship with another one, and that's what usually keeps me in a serie. Good thing Invader Zim is being continued by amazing fans and by the official comic.
It's also being continued in a comic book series by it's original creator.
