One thing I thought of is some sort of hard mode, maybe you would unlock it by completing a world, allowing you to play that world on hard mode, maybe by completing all worlds, letting you play all worlds on hard mode, or maybe by completing a world within a certain period of time (like less than a minute and 30 seconds) The hard mode levels would be identical to their normal mode equivalents, but with new obstacles added to make them harder. It'd make the game more fun for more skilled players, and improve the speedrunning community
I've had the idea of a hard mode (or maybe Maxima mode) where there are added obstacles to make it more challenging, especially for speedrunning :D I might make some speedrun-specific options to play through the whole world, too :)
Nice work! The Jason stuff you have is very cool, will definitely be useful in the future. I will say, the restart the world button to me looked more like a continue button rather than restart!
Thanks a bunch! I'll probably have to go back and fix it a couple times but ey, that's just the game dev cycle :P You're definitely right there, haha - I'll see if I can make it look a bit more reset-ty :)
New to the channel and just binged watched the devlogs for this game, very amazing work. Was immediately hooked on the game's look, feel and controls. A quick suggestion: Collectibles...!!! They would increase the length of each level and will give the player more time to play around with the controls and mechanics(since they seem like the best part of the game) so that they won't dash towards the exit immediately. Plus I see a lot of spots in your levels where collectibles can be placed. Collecting them can also increase the calm, relaxing feel you want in the game. Going off the main route to collect something, and then going back will make it so that the player takes more time in the level, and will naturally master it(imo). Like a few levels of supermeatboy, you can even add literal locks and keys causing people to backtrack and play around the same area again. Obviously it is your game, take my suggestion any way you wish, hope to play your game soon
Thank you very much for watching through the devlogs, I really appreciate it! You've probably realised that I haven't posted anything too recently on it 😅 I'm currently rebuilding the game to some extent, and this collectibles idea sounds really great! I especially think it could add to the calm aesthetic. Thank you for the comment! ^^
A quick suggestion. There is a chance that people who haven't seen these devlogs understand that the white box on the white floor is the player. Soo you can either use a different color or a arrow at the start of the map.
Great progress on the levels! I like the thought going into the start, although wonder how obvious double jumping is without any prompts, especially if casuals are your target audience.
Thank you very much! I definitely agree - when editing, I saw that the later levels might be a bit challenging as the first set of gameplay. I might make it a bit more intuitive by doing a few more 'tutorial' like levels to get the player comfortable with the controls :D
HMMMMM.... Great devlog, love how your game has shaped form the starting. Love your video, I was inspired to be an gamedev by your video and others.......😀😀
Spikes and holes aren't exactly the same when it comes to obstacles. Even though you need to jump over both, when jumping down the hole, you have a chance to double jump out of it. When hitting the spikes, it's instantly over. So the difference is that spikes are more difficult obstacles than holes, they're not the same.
hey icoso with the pause menu i think it would look better if it was simply just the icon with a slight black glow around ut as the boxes don’t looks so minimal but rather more outstanding and dont fit the game style in my opinion
Idea for Minima: add in something that shoots something in some way. Also, I noticed the dash orbs not present in the past few episodes. Just confused.

Great Devlog!
When Minima comes out, I'll definitely play the game and will speedrun the game a lot.
Keep going!

Loving the progress! 16 levels per world sounds like a ton of work, but I'm curious to see you pull it off😁

Awesome video! Love the Minima devlogs.
Thank you very much! :D
It's epic to see how much thought you put into each level.

Mmmm yes true, maybe I can add a sort of 'spawn in' animation when the level starts, so you can easily see where the Player is :D
Looks good 👍
Cheers! ^^
it would be vary swag if there was a level editor or level builder or something like that
I would looove to do something like that, but we'll have to see how we go :p

The legend returns... and vanishes after 7 minutes and 48 seconds
Jokes aside, cool devlog :)
7 minutes and 47 seconds since the last second he didn't talk

You should add boss fight

idea: add an Easter egg level or some secret level
I do have a plan to do something like that :)

The player kinda fades in to the platforms, which might confuse people. Great devlog though! :DD

Maybe try adding procedurally generated levels, something like an infinite mode were you have to beat your previous score.
