VisualX its called having fun. Most bands don't try to be militaristic, the whole point of band is to have fun and learn a life skill. Just because bands have different opinions of how a band should be doesn't mean that a band is lame or not a good band. Plus, they are two entirely different types of bands. Southern University is a traditional style band or a 'show band'. On the other hand, LSU is a much more DCI/BOA style band, or 'competition band'. The differences are insane, and can be seen in the drum line alone. It is impossible to compare these two bands because of how different they are.
