I think if everyone does this you could potentially get challenge completed before the encounter starts too
It could work with a countdown. Everyone stays in the spot, each person gets one button and 3...2....1... Shoot.
This way it shouldnt fail the challenge
Worst case scenario, everyone wastes one rocket and you wipe

We got an infinite respawn glitch on witness on Tuesday when I was grabbing the CP. People started to die to wipe for the encounter CP and like usual if they died before the encounter actually started then they could respawn again, but this allowed us to continue respawning infinitely even after the encounter started and we had to wait out the whole Final Shape timer to get an actual wipe.
If someone wants to try to replicate it I can provide more details of the conditions. Would make master witness absolutely free for anyone struggling with that.
i managed to make so i had also infinite heavy ammo to do it. easy full DPS phase
Imagine they did this for world’s first and canonically cheesed the witness
I still wonder how there was a 5+ hour gap between 1st and 2nd, especially when parabellum was so far behind to start. The only other time a gap like that happened was last wish because of the power grind that redeem cheesed with a prime engram glitch (+blind luck/brute forcing vault) pretty astonishing

@@84m30 the gap was because people were trying to not rely on still hunt hunter and struggled to meet the damage check because of it
IMPORTANT UPDATE: if you have 3 reserve mods and you load in fresh, doing this to break the buttons will refill your reserve by 1 on death. Each time you wipe, just reload.

I mean it doesn't "kill" him it just let's you do a damage phase early
The trick is you gotta be dead a certain amount of time before shots that you fired will count. It’s like how certain bosses that can be predamaged tick immunes for a bit after you die, then start working

No, but 6 people can nearly, if not entirely, 1 phase him on first break.
If you had bothered to listen he says a full raid team can do it. He never claimed or said it can be done solo

A salvo of slow Nova Bombs and then eating it before rallying. The old Taniks solo strat that took almost 3 hours with almost 40 nova bombs before starting the encounter in final stand.

better with truth, EoT rockets tend to ignore nearby walls sometimes and the tracking is too damn aggressive

If you guys think you can solo the boss this way, you cannot.
If it gives you one more damage phase then it's huge, if not, it's kinda useless for that

Meh. All this does is allow you a free damage phase, but that won’t kill the boss. You’ll still have to play it out once that phase ends.
Does this glitch allow for a 4th damage phase? If so, then solo witness might be possible again

Bungie please don't patch this, it's the best way to test damage rotations now, I don't have to do it on grasp of avarice, or if you do patch this, please make a place where we can practice rotations that won't kill us so easily
Funnily enough we had to use this since the boss glitched out after damage phases but we only discovered this glitch when seeing if others were reporting it

You do this until all buttons are destroyed, then you start the encounter for a damage phase without needing to run prior to it
