Regarding your nerves during the competition and the night before it. May I be so bold as to suggest you learn how to breathe? I am not kidding. Maybe try yoga or some different technique that suits you, but there is a very good chance this will help you relax enough to sleep better and perform better during competition. I hope it works. I just thought of a new way of solving the cube. you can start by making the blocks as you do in the roux method then solve the bottom layer first and then do the last layer like CFOP. i don't know if it would be really fast or not but this just mixes some of the best qualities of CFOP and roux giving you a rotation less solve. (I think many of you might have thought about this as well). I wonder if it would be really fast or not.
