When the kids got some eggs and a hotdog for Christmas and the dog ate the hotdog, I could not stop laughing.
My kid was smart. I ran out of tape wrapping his Christmas presents one year, so I ended up using duct tape on a few of them. In the morning, he screams, Dad! I know which ones are from you because Santa doesn't use duct tape!. So I got credit for three crappy random presents and Santa got credit for the rest. Blah.

İ would just laugh we do a dirty santa christmas party ever year so i got a lot of terrible gifts like sand paper pinecone toilet sticker etc. A 5 year girl at our dirty santa laughed when she got a bad gift.

For Christmas last year my 4 year old niece really wanted a brand new shiny pink bike. Instead, our family played a prank on her and gave her like 3 or 4 of those really cheap small crayons that don't really color all that well, and a small coloring book. We thought she'd be upset that she got that small, not so great gift instead of her bike. To our surprise, she was very grateful that she had gotten something and thanked each and every one of us for her gift. Even though she was obviously disappointed, she was still glad she got a gift and started looking through her coloring book. We all felt so bad for her and finally brought out her brand new pink bike. She was the happiest little girl when she saw it, but was still grateful for her 3 cheap crayons and little coloring book. Some people are just grateful for what ever it is they get, even at a young age. It's amazing.

This just shows you how much the younger generation is so dependant on receiving the present they want for Christmas. When Christmas isn't about getting the most recent expensive toy, it's about spending quality time with family. Making bonds stronger, and possibly exchanging thoughtful gifts such as homemade trinkets, cards, food, etc. Even though some of the comments the kids made were a little funny, this is just sad.
