44:22 I like the part about how to drive and meditate. How to make meditation while driving turn you into a better driver and person. I start with sights and then see if i can incorporate feelings of breathing. And relaxion but keep alert and attentive. But relaxed and calm. This makes u a better driver because when someone cuts u off you dont get road rage after u get good at it. U notice the anger or terror come and go. I like to do see hear feel techniques while driving too. Or just see. And most of time its done without labeling internally and just done by dividing experience and noticing
It's because of this interview I now know of Bill Hamilton. I'm reading Saints and Psychopaths now. Kenneth Folk's Contemplative Fitness was also mentioned in the interview for anyone interested. Thank you and great work!
Wow. That's so awesome. Really happy to hear that. I am really hoping more people learn about Bill Hamilton. I am putting together a project all about Bill Hamilton. An important and under appreciated figure in Western Mindfulness/Dharma.
@@MetaPerspective_ Can't agree more. Still amazing to hear that Daniel's book was inspired by Bill Hamilton's pioneering work. Hope you can get Kenneth Folk on your channel someday!
@@cbesc I've been speaking with Kenneth privately and he will be assisting with the Bill Hamilton project. I do hope he will publicly share. However, I will be able to privately interview him and share his input regarding Bill.
On the definition of mindfulness question... I like he answer, but there something clean about shinzen young breaking it down into concentration, sensory clarity, AND ,equanimity ....that I like. And I wish Daniel would embrace this definition with the Technical terms so we can have a high amount of scientific rigor when explaining it. Or Perhaps its best we all embrace different ways of defining it. What do yall think
I don’t have the vocabulary or maybe the skill to communicate some status or place I’m currently operating from and I don’t really feel the need to although others seem to.. which seems to have created this new layer of self criticism if my experience doesn’t fit into some pre defined parameters others keep giving me?
Thank you for a really great interview! On another note: I added Meta Perspective to my podcast player (on iPhone), but for some reason no episode of yours can play (while all other podcasts work fine). Is there something you can do about it? Can it be geographical issue (I live in Denmark)?
I have the same problem. I’m using the Castro app. First it says it can’t play this particular podcast while streaming, and it must be downloaded first. But after the download finishes, it is immediately marked as incomplete or damaged. I would start with checking server configuration.
Awakening seems to be a spectrum.. I haven’t found a box to fit in.. I find it odd that you deconstruct the box then there is some kind of expectation to find another one to fit in.. the truth needs no champion, it stands alone with no effort at all.. truth is not words but a state of being… it is you… I don’t need validation, because I know , and outside permission is not required .. what I would like is something to relate to..

The part where daniel explains the intentions and mental impressions is pure gold btw. Insanely valuable.
Thanks! Glad to have it here as a resource.

Sure thing!
Great podcast. I’m glad you asked some clarifications for the fire kasina practice, Daniel gave some very clear guidance that I was looking for. 👍
Thanks!

Because there's almost always multiple awakenings until reaching the absolute permanent stateless state. Not many people are there.
