Pretty much all of the lyrics can be summed up as “boys are dumb, girls are super smart” and “boys can’t beat me I’m so tough”. I mean girl power is cool and all but this is just stupid and actually kinda sexist.
If they said something more like “I can do anything a boy can do” and tried to say that boys and girls are equal then that would have been fine, but saying that girls are superior to boys is just as bad as the old ‘boys are stronger and better than girls’ stereotype that created this video.
Edit: Okay so I was reading some of the replies and I just wanted to clarify. The reason I called it sexist is because it discriminates against boys by saying how they are “dumb” and “weak”. Yes, it’s good to help young girls gain confidence, and be proud of who they are, but this way it could make girls feel superior to boys, which could lead to bullying and other negative effects. Also, while it may help girls gain confidence, it also might lower confidence of boys, especially how some boys might use Minecraft skins similar or identical to the ones that are getting beat up in the video. They also might feel discouraged to play minecraft because of this video and could even lose confidence overall. Anyways, that just how I feel on the matter. We should try to promote girls and boys being equal and not one superior to the other.
