    thank you for sharing these. I really thought it is cool to have a mist on the aquarium but now that I saw this, I think it might be hazardous in some ways. 1. Basically it makes aerosols out of the aquarium water which means, if your aquarium water is not the clean enough for inhalation, it "might" be dangerous. 2. It creates a moistures around the aquarium. You have to have a waterproof system on the electrics such as lights, heaters..etc. Sum: It is cool no doubt. But if you don't have good control over your aquarium and surroundings, it might turn bad.

    I read that if you don't use distilled water the mist can be a health hazard due to airborne bacteria and mold. I keep going back and forth on the idea because it will look amazing, it will help my plants, but my tank is at my bedside so I'm not sure.. I've been looking deep into the standalone fillable reptile foggers.

      Hey yes I've heard alot on this topic too. Ideally these items are used purely for display purposes not as a humidifier as you wouldn't want the fish water being deposited in the air. For me the item only comes on if I was to take a photo etc of my tank. It was purely an ornamental thing than any other use.

      plastic ones are a bit safer for tanks especially ones with live animals, they dont heat up as much.

      Thanks for sharing. One advice I would say is that I wouldn't recommend using as a humidifier if you are using it in a fish tank as all the mist is full of all the bacteria in the aquarium water. Make sure you check out a follow up review I did of this product too, got a few things that might help 👍

    It's a matter of personal taste, but I think that they only look good with low aquarium tanks.

  • @yoshi0k262
    @yoshi0k262 3 года назад +3

    no one has asked but you definitely dont want to use one of these in a aquarium with live stock unless they are hardy they cause alot of calcium and mineral build up around them if you dont use distilled water and it can trow the balance of your tank also just not good for your health unlike a dehumidifier the water has bacteria in it and over time can lead to health problems if you are close to it and have it on a lot but yeh your tank is beautiful i plan to make one similar with celestial pearl danios and making a sump in the back of the scape and adding a ultrasonic mister

    Tks for the vid. Do u submerge the entire mist maker into the water? Whats the wattage. Just wanna know the estimated power consumption

    • @MrBrightfryed
      @MrBrightfryed  2 года назад

      No problem. I'd recommend checking out the follow up review I did recently on this device before buying. Spec said it was 24V. Its not something you'd leave on however so power consumption should be low. More of a feature when visitors are round and yes this one needs to be submerged but not too far or it won't create the fog. Hope that helps.

      @@MrBrightfryed Dart frogs are cool but I think that you won't see them as much in a paludarium like this with big plants. Firebelly toads or newts are a better idea if you wants ambians.
