I would watch a spinoff of that. Just them hanging out, no special effects or anything. If they wrote a script for that and filmed a bunch of episodes of that for fans to watch, I'd be right there to check it out.
Yuuup. The biggest dick from season 1 (apart from the forgettable freckled cunt) was Steve Harrington, only to be the most adorable and role model-like character of the second season. Once he Barry Bonds'd the demegorgon with the bat full of nails in season 1's last episode, he became the best character EVER.
It was nice to actually see Will with his friends this time around. Hopefully nothing else happens to him, as he's had it like the worst. Kept alive just to be a host/spy. And next time we'll maybe get to see him actually interact with Eleven on a positive note haha. This whole second season was amazing.
I guess it would've made the video longer which can be a contradiction of Jeremy Jahns' bread and butter which are fine reviews that are short...which is what most people loved about Jeremy Jahns
Eleven's story arc doesn't exist to serve Hopper, it deliberately exists for Eleven. After a lifetime of people making choices for her, she took a full season to choose her own home.
Yes, thank you, exactly. And episode 7 was absolutely pivotal in that arc, which is why I cannot understand why people don't appreciate that. Besides being crucial for the further development of her powers, of course. How can you remove that from the story? I loved that episode. Mind you, I loved all the episodes, so no great change there....
SPOILERS RELATED to Steve DOWN BELOW, sorta? I got seriously shit scared that Steve was going to die toward the end, THANK GOD that didn't happen, SUCH an Awesome Guy, and the Dustin/Steve dynamic was one of the BEST parts to this Season
Jules C that's what they should have done! It would have worked so much better if they had just did that whole thing next season and keep season 2 in Hawkins
Steve and Will were fucking amazing in season. Not to say they were so much better than the rest of the cast, but they were my least favorite characters in the first season and did a complete 180°. S2 wasn't as good as S1, but it was really closer than I expected to be.
I don’t think Episode 7 was entirely “pointless”. Could it have been written better? Yeah, sure. It was just the writer’s way to explore and build 11's story arc… To help her to connect with her abilities and a way to help her find more confidence rather than being that innocent kid we saw during Season 1 and the beginning of Season 2. All of that character development finally paid off at the final episode when she took it upon herself to use her powers to close the Gate. Also, I guess when the writers created that episode, they saw it as an opportunity to not only explore 11’s character arc… but to set up a potential story-line for Season 3. Obviously the Shadow Monster is going to make a comeback and I guess Hopper and the main cast will probably need some help to defeat it by recruiting the rest of the missing 10 children. I guess they decided to introduce that idea of the 10 other enhanced people in season 2 so everything won’t feel so forced or cliche when Season 3 hits. But I could be entirely wrong with that theory… who knows…
Was not filler, and Brenner is confirmed to be alive. Only part of that was Kali's illusion. That guy had no reason to lie whatsoever. It was not filler, and Kali and the symbol of 8 all relate to time too. Mama is stuck in a time loop. There is a much bigger story being told here.
When you said “when everything won’t seem forced” is a go huge thing about shows I feel like. The episode makes a lot more sense now because I think people don’t give enough credit to the pacing of a movie or show. It’s the thing that can either engage a persons interest, or make them loose it really quickly and lose the main points made in certain episodes. Forcing the plot of season three by taking away step 7 into season three would confuse lots of fans I think. You make good points 😊👍🏻
I think if they built more on 8 then that episode wouldve been easier to tolerate not only that but it wouldve been possible to actually love the episode..at first glance you assume 8 and her gang are just theives but no they straight up kill poeple wich i found a little unnerving. it didnt fit well with the character i feel the actress mightve not been able to actually portray how they thought it couldve been portrayed..it didnt stick well with her. i feel if they chose someone else for the role of 8 it couldve been better but i cant completely blame the actress. the writing does play a big part on how we perceive her character. It just didnt fit is all i can say really.
IT and stranger things are in the same universe. Bob talks about a clown Mr. Baldo that gave him a balloon and scared him. Bob was from Maine. Dairy the town of IT is in Maine. Is pennywise from the upside down!?!?! Mind blown!!!!( yes i know those things are all just steven king refferences. Its just fun to pretend).
Season 1 was definitely better. It was more tightly paced and felt consistent throughout. Season 2 had some pacing issues, especially thanks to episode 7, which I didn't hate like a lot people did but it was thrown in after a great cliffhanger of episode 6 and completely broke the pacing. Would have been better if they spread out that episode's story in chunks and layered it over 2-3 episodes, along with other arcs. Still, Stranger Things 2 was a great watch, and can't wait for season 3 now. Also, Steve and Dustin + Steve and the Kids moments were THE BEST!
Yeah, Mike and Eleven, especially Mike were on the backburner as compared to last season. BUT I feel like they did that so other characters can get more time in the light and since they were separated and all. Plus, they'll probably be on the forefront again next season since they'll be together again (hopefully). I will say that it wasn't non-relevant to the plot, it just felt like it didn't have a greater impact. And I agree that the last two episodes were amazing, and probably my favorite of the series so far too.
Yeah, I get what you mean, character relevant but not main plot relevant, I see that now. I was lowkey hoping that instead of the anger thing, she somehow manages to channel the pleasant/beautiful memories she has to get an even greater effect, kinda like Magento in First Class. Maybe her powers don't work like that, or maybe we might get to see that in season 3. And definitely, Lucas greatly benefited. Became much more likable. After all the positive response for what they did with Steve, we will get a good chunk of him in Season 3 as well I believe. Also, I love that, Mike and Eleven watching Back to the Future as a date, WOULD BE REALLY AWESOME! Gonna be a really annoying wait for season 3. :/
True. The wait still annoys me (it always does for series I LOVE), but lots of things to watch. I have a huge backlog of series to catch upto anyway, including Better Caul Saul, which I haven't even started yet. :p
(SPOILER ALERT) Did nobody else like the scene where Eleven went into her moms memories and found out the horrific loop that played over and over? Havent seen anyone talk about it and i thought it was really creepy
I swear, if I had the means, I would've hired Jon Bailey to do a voice over "FROM THE DIRECTOR of one of the most beloved animated films of the 21st Century 'Finding Nemo', Andrew Stranton is back, with..." and then just show that.... DISTURBING LOOP along with Will seizing out at the end of 205, and Jon'd be all "Oh god..." Seriously, that moment with the loop was just horrifying. I think what creeped me out the most was when Terry was being hauled away from the rainbow room, and she just yells out "NOooooooooooooooooooo she's my daughter!" Just the way she yells that, I felt my heart sink to my stomach, and it felt too real.
BronzeMuseum it is. Because your opinion sucks so muchhhhh. Give me 3 ways season 2 is better than season 1 and I guarantee I can counter everyone of them
i mean Steve dont look like a great fighter or anything, and the writers werent about to play into that. Steve is a pretty boy athlete.. there was no way he was going to beat ol Billy badass in a fight. BUT, he did put up a hell of a fight for a little bit
Season 2 was a very slow uninteresting burn. I barely remember the early installments. What saved the season was the last 2 episodes. 8 & 9 was such a rollercoaster ride that by themselves it made the entire season 5 stars on my ratings
I loved Season 2 a bit more maybe cause a bit of this and that i could relate as a kid in school, The New kids in town by far one of favorite characters in the show specially that dude from Power rangers i can already see a good story arc for him in the upcoming seasons (A badass HS kid Kicking Demidogs ass along side the squad) I Loved the slow moments just as much the action.
watertommyz well idk why max would beat her step father..100% billy's dad isnt even mean to max i guarantee it.. billys just being a docuhe becuase he doesnt want a new mom and step sister. it happens all the time with divorces..its hinted at several times that billy intimidates and hurts max.. It doesnt have to be physically but it could be emotionally. he brakes her things aka her long board..and you wanna say thats their fathers fualt? No..granted his father is a no nonsense type of guy a controle freak and kinda a Douche..he wants their family to be happy and perfect but he knows Damn well that billy hates both of the women. The only bad thing about his father is that hes forcing billy to be nice when obviously billy doesnt want to be nice. Does that mean his father is bad? We cant tell yet we know hes very physical but he has not displayed that he is physical with the women so i wouldnt make him the bad guy yet. Not yet atleast..but dont make billy the victim either he could be alot more cooperative but hes really not..
St T. - I felt like will should have died and I also agree with Jeremy eleven should have "died" in season 1 and came back in like season 3 after shit goes south
Episode 7 to me felt like the part in Empire Strikes Back where Luke had to go find Yoda on Dagobah. He learned more about his powers while learning of the larger universe around him, then eventually had to give it up because his friends are his family and they were all in danger. I did think it felt tonally off from the rest of the show, but that's how I look at it.
Jordan Steele except yoda was way better and more entertaining then those punkasses plus Luke didn’t look like he was going to a damn slipknot or Marilyn Manson concert or some shit when he left degobuh
I don't know about you but for me Steve was my favorite character in season 2. I never thought from hating him the most to absolutely enjoy and like him as a character. And also Bob was a great man.
I agree with Jeremy here, and I think the differences between season one and two all come down to the success of the show. In season one, no one knew if it would get a second season, or if it would even succeed, so they wrote a really tight, well-paced story that mostly finished by the end. Now since they know they're getting two, three, four seasons and possibly on, there's more room and more episodes at their disposal to tell the story. Season two definitely operates on a different, longer type of story structure in comparison to season one. Whether this new structure is bad or good comes down to personal preference, I think.
Season 1 is sooooo much better. My main issue with season 2 is the demidogs. Don't get me wrong, they were creepy, and I love how they introduced them. My issue is the demigorgon seemed to be more threatening and more of an issue than the army of dogs. Which in all actuality, an army like that should have been 10x worse. Season 1 people were disappearing, will was in a danger, this creature was loose in town killing people! Season 2 was more like, there are tunnels underground, there are weird dogs running around a localized facility, and the only real consequence was Bob. It never got to the level like the school scene in season 1.
S1- amazing. Could not stop watching. S2- a bit all over the place. Not as concise. Some storylines were on the boring side. Kept waiting for Eleven to reunite with the gang so I kept being disappointed everytime that didn't happen.
Season 2 was good/alright. But the attempts at horror were so cliche and predictable. Like the time *SPOILER* Bob died. The second he turned his back on the door to smile and show that he's alright, I knew he was dead meat. -_-
I found it incredibly irritating that they try to use sudden loud noises for scare effect when the that's supposed to scare you isn't even scary. It's just plain annoying. Stranger things doesn't need this it's a very good series. Hope they cut it out in the following season.
Cliche Horror Moments doesn't make it bad - it was never promised as a horror show. It was always a thriller/mystery. And the reason you find it cliche'd is because this show takes a lot from classic flicks and most of those horror flicks have those cliche moments.
I knew he was gonna die at the very beginning. It’s always that one new kind character that dies. Did you know he’s the kid from The Goonies and Lord of The Rings?
i decided to binge watch both seasons for the first time this week. watching each season right after each other gave me some perspective: everything season 1 did right, season 2 did wrong. and season 2 was trash. every major character is ruined for no reason. the supernatural villain is bigger but is obtuse and vague. the human villains basically don't exist in season 2, and they waste multiple hours on filler that leads nowhere. eleven is squandered. she was obviously the most interesting and effective character in season one, and here she sits in a cabin eating eggos and being pouty for 5 hours. hopper goes from being an awesomely effective action hero cop who cared about the residents in his town to a shitty dad who uses the literal oldest trope of all time "i lied to you so i could protect you" which always backfires. dustin goes from the creative problem solver with good comedic timing to jealous, lying, self-absorbed idiot who actively undermines the success of his friends. mike goes from the party leader who is the beacon for eleven to connect with, to a jealous, raging, useless character who sits around with will doing nothing. this season was rushed, it was less original than the first, it was more drawn out and had way worse pacing. they tried to retread what worked while simultaneously making everything bigger, which doesn't work. there aren't even any good flashback triggers. the upside down just bleeds into hawkins now so the characters can lazily go back and forth at will instead of it being an intense and terrifying process. i hope for their sake, they take more time to write season 3.
What a weird piece of criticism. You could just as easily turn it around, and say that Hopper's arch only existed to serve Eleven's arch. Their arcs compliment each other, which is why putting them together this year was a stroke of genius.
I Should Probably Get A Job I couldn't agree more. Eleven served Hopper's character with the whole father/daughter arc, her reminding him of Sarah and wanting to protect her, and by the end also admiting his mistakes and wanting to a better parent for her, which gives his character ample room to grow in season 3. Hopper served Eleven's arc with the whole "teenage rebellion" trope we see so much in coming of age stories (her whole arc was a coming of age story, let's be honest), her making her own choices while experiencing the consequences of said choices, her wanting to find her place (home) in the world, which is necessary when she realizes her place and home was always with Hop and Mike and the rest of the party.
100% agree. I only want these kids, eleven and the entire cast of season 1. We know there are other "numbers" out there, but I honestly couldn't care less. I only care about the cast we have now. The opening to this season and episode 7, totally threw me out of this season. Those scenes were not Stranger Things in my opinion. I hope we don't dive into the other "numbers" in later seasons.
I think your concern with the building up of season 2 has more to do with the novelty you experienced from season 1. Personally, I thought the pacing of this season was nearly perfect. In this season we now know and understand the implications associated with the link between the upside down and our world. The pacing allows us to feel whats happening at the same rate that the "virus" is spreading through will (and hawkins for that matter). Season one is the infection and exposure which is going to be a bit more of a bang, but with season 2 it's more about the progression of evil. If the pacing of this season was any faster then it would have done the story a disservice.
Season 2 was like an amped up season 1. Loved it even more. 👍👍 Also, episode 7 was about Eleven finding herself and her purpose. She also was taught how to amplify her powers. So yeah, episode 7 wasn't great but definitely wasn't garbage as some may claim.
Season 2 was a genuine Sequel. And for me, most sequels are subpar remixes of the originals. It was entertaining, but there was nothing particularly creative about it, with the exception of continuing Steve's character arc the way they did. It wasn't bad, it was just your standard run of the mill sequel.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who preferred season 1 to season 2, and I also believe episode 7 does nothing for the rest of the season. Other than that, great season, babysitter Steve till the day I die!
aaronx83 I think the reason for it was now Elle can control her powers more after Eights little schooling. And that Eight might be an enemy or ally in season 3 or 4. Also telling us that Elle thinks it's her home in Indiana was pretty big.
Well episode 7 was nessesary for showing what eleven is capeble for, and show that there are more psycothic characters, and the fact that brenner is alive, so i guess even tho people think its bad, its full of necessary info
For creators, the earlier the better. Any later and Jeremy risks getting less views as many folks have already binged it all, watched reviews, and moved on. So, in essence, being early, or first, means more notoriety, a potentially larger audience and chance to grow your brand, and in this case could potentially influence new viewers to the show or film he is reviewing earlier. Now you have been equipped with a small amount of understanding.
Thank you for this and NOT WAITING!!! Have been dying to talk about it!!! S2 definitely was meant to set up for the series to continue. Love your back references e.g: Short Circuit2 Great job. You are one of the 1st youtubers I started following years ago.
The whole "old man guiding a teammate to the circuit breaker via walkie-talkie" was such a great reference to Jurassic Park, I was foaming at the mouth with fanboyism.
kirby Freeman Except she wasn't even in it much and her arc was the least interesting as good as it was. Will stole the show this season. Eleven was just the cherry on top
I feel this whole season was more like a bridge to season 3. Eleven needed to learn that she can fuel her power, this time with rage. What I mean is that we'll likely see more of Eleven and her powers next season and I'm sure we'll see more of Kali too. The existence of Kali and the fact that her ability was completely different means all the subjects might have had different abilities so future seasons can revolve around that too.
At the very least all the kids become meaningless (excluding Will), but really everyone because no one in Hawkins is even close to having the means to deal with what's in the upside down. The only options for season 2 were bring back Eleven or bring in another one of the Hawkins Lab subjects to take her place.
Video KanjiClub The problem with that episode is they took us out of Hawkins. It just doesn't feel like Stranger Things if we're not in Hawkins anymore. But I enjoyed the episode.
Ummmm Eleven expanded her powers, literally did the darth vader force chokehold on a scientist, joined a band of criminals to actually use her powers for evil, and even the other girl's powers were cool to see. Why do people hate it so much? Cause she was black I bet
Don't quite agree with max being well inserted in the story. You take her out and the only thing that goes missing is the love triangle between her, lucas and dustin, and then maybe we could have 11 back with the boys earlier.
From someone who just watched S1 and S2 for the first time together, S2 was nowhere near as good as S1. There was barely any intrigue especially with The Upside Down. The creepy feeling of the place and deadliness of the Demogorgon was lacking with the tunnels (crop failure, oh no) or the demodog fodder. Dustin managing to befriend one made it cliqued and took away a lot of what was at stake. Bob's death was obvious and had no weight. There were so many shots and scenes which did the silly "almost scare/reveal but nah, its just some person or fucking scarecrow that startled a character"
In Season 3, they need another major character death. Everyone loves all the characters so it would be hard to kill anyone off. The only person I'm thinking of is Billy. Although I like his character, in Season 3, he should get even more crazy and mental. Eventually attempting to kill someone. Similar to what he did with Steve if Max didn't stop him. However in Season 3, Max should be forced to kill Billy to save a member of the group that he's attempting to kill. It will definitely create that shock factor. Just an idea....
wow, you are spot on with that short circuit 2 reference. I wonder how they'll react to the backlash about episode 7. It seems like its universally panned.
Seeing Hopper and Eleven this year were great, but I wish they would have made it a bit more interesting. What if Eleven found the box that contained the information about her mother earlier in the season, and at the same time she finds a picture of Sarah?. She could have confronted Hopper about it, and we would have had a great scene similar to The Last of Us, where Eleven is like "I'm not her you know...". I don't know, I'm just spitballing here...
Completely agree. First couple episodes had me skeptical, not as excited to keep watching. By episode 3 or 4 though I was invested and finished it that day.
I loved the first season, but I felt like season two didnt make much sense in and of itself. There were too many people who didnt really have to be there to make the story.
Nice review Jeremy & I got to say that I was surprised when I woke up & saw that you had posted this pretty early xD In commenting what I liked/thought, I hope this comment isn't too long xD if it is long, then I sorry. Anyway, if I'm being honest I loved both seasons about the same. I don't love one more than the other. I thought (some spoilers in my comment) it was a long slow build up but I still loved this season. Honestly wish it was 1 or 2 episodes longer but that's just me. My favorite character this season was Bob (poor Bob 😢) because he was such a relatable & kindhearted person, which is why his death depressed the shit out of me. It just sucked. Though I do kind of feel like his death was there to make Joyce finally say "to hell with it" & take a somewhat more aggressive action against the thing that has possessed Will (even though she was already doing that.) The cabin scene with them at the end reminded me of both The Exorcist & The Possession. I Liked Max & hated her racist dickhead of a brother Billy. The scene with his dad kind of reminded me of the Henry Bowers scene with his dad in IT. Like Henry in IT, I didn't really have sympathy for Billy. Like last season, I loved the main group of kids, love David Harbour as Hopper. I liked Max & I hope that in the next season her & Eleven interact & build a friendship/bond & I hope that Max becomes a member of their party. Feel like Billy meeting with Mike's mom is setting up for something that is going to happen between them next season. Liked how they dwelled back on the subject of what happened to Eleven's mom & revealed that she is stuck in that never-ending loop. There is more stuff in the season I liked (the pull out joke. I laughed my ass off at that part) but I could go on & on & this comment is already really long now so I'm gonna stop here xD
No mention of arguably the best character...Steve the babysitter Harrington
Vishanthfishy .R I know right
Steve is amazing
@@demgphix hell yeah
"How was the pull-out?" is the best line of the year
Luffy1045 I saw that line coming from a mile away. Especially because it was set up waaaaaay ahead of time.
sucks for you dude.. to me it was great
Harry Bahls how awkward they were before it happened was what made it so funny in the first place 😂😂
I laughed too hard at that scene. Had to play it back. Def Best Line.
I couldn't laugh because I watch it with my parents. Those parts just make an awkward silence.
Instead of episode 7 they could've just given me an hour of Dustin and Steve hanging out and I would've been totally fine with that
Nyah Cat They could do a season 2.5 with just that and I'd be on board
Nah, I wouldn't want just one episode of Dustin and Steve.
I WANT A WHOLE SEASON
Holy shit that qould bump up season 2 to be better than season 1
I would watch a spinoff of that. Just them hanging out, no special effects or anything. If they wrote a script for that and filmed a bunch of episodes of that for fans to watch, I'd be right there to check it out.
Nyah Cat I love Dustin and Steve together.
Everyone says justice for Barb they should say justice for Bob I freaking loved his character I cried when he died
Goonies never say die. Bob Newby, superhero.
Benny, Barb, Bob... I’m seeing something here.
I never cared that much for Barb, on the other hand I thought Bob was great
@@tehziye aha, Billy now
Was so nasty seeing those things eat his guts...
Steve Harrington season 2 MVP no doubt
What about Bob?
Surprised you didn't mention Steve's character, he was amazing in season 2 and really carried it IMO.

Probably forgot
I went from hating Steve Harrington to him being one of my favorite characters this season
DJCash Gaming Steve is fucking awesome
He really earned that redemption this season
I think that was max's brothers purpose in this season, to make Steve look good (and doing a good job at it)
You didn't have that reaction by the end of last season?
DJCash Gaming Steve's character had gone such an arc
Will hardly had a role in S1 but in S2, he was PHENOMENAL!
Yeah. I kind of wish they went with their original idea of having him kill Bob.
He KIND OF did - he was the "spy" for the Upside Down that led the demadogs to them
It was nice to actually see Will with his friends this time around. Hopefully nothing else happens to him, as he's had it like the worst. Kept alive just to be a host/spy. And next time we'll maybe get to see him actually interact with Eleven on a positive note haha.
This whole second season was amazing.
watertommyz I’m definitely hoping for Eleven and Will to meet and get to know each other face to face like the other boys got to with her. 🙂
Isabella Parker I find it funny because thats the exact opposite of Mike
No talk of Steve, Nancy, Jonathan, or the greatest character in the whole show, Bob?
I guess it would've made the video longer which can be a contradiction of Jeremy Jahns' bread and butter which are fine reviews that are short...which is what most people loved about Jeremy Jahns
I love Bob.
Eleven's story arc doesn't exist to serve Hopper, it deliberately exists for Eleven. After a lifetime of people making choices for her, she took a full season to choose her own home.

I just hope he doesn't die in season 3
agreed
The only reason i'm excited for S3 now is because of "The Adventures of Steve Fucking Harrington & Dustin"
Steve is the best parent in the show
Nancy's mom is hot
But actually.
Edgar Lopez yea I beat my meat when she got out the tub to meet billy
I want a show on just steve and the kids
Jon Wick yes!
But I hate Lucas man
It should be called The Adventures of Babysitting pt 2
why?
stolen comment
Season 2 feels more like a tv show rather than the 6 hour movie season 1 was.
episode 7 could've been season 3. That was such a different feel that it stopped the flow of the show
That episode felt so pointless
Jules C that's what they should have done! It would have worked so much better if they had just did that whole thing next season and keep season 2 in Hawkins
I'm praying its just season 3 setup and not potential stranger things spinoff
Patrick D I have a feeling season 3 and 4 will revolve around them having to find the other 9 experiments in order to truly defeat the shadow monster
Totally shoehorned, I agree with the internet about that episode, And i'm with Jeremy about S2 as a whole, good but not nearly as good as S1.
I’m sad Jeremy didn’t say anything about BoB, he was one of my favorite charters this season.... RIP
Camren Demoe spoiler! Haha I don't care since I saw it.. Some might
Goonies never say die!
Bob was my favorite too!
Oh my sam
The second he disconnected from the group to play hero I was like "oh man, yea he's dead...so so dead" brutal
Ep. 1-6 > THANK GOD STRANGER THINGS ARE BACK!!
Ep. 7 > what the fuck
Ep. 8-9 > HELL YEAH, HELL YEAH
Marts Lavrinovičs YES! XD
Pretty much :D
pretty accurate
Very true
I don't get why people hate episode 7. 10/10, just like every other episode and the entire season.
Steve and Will were fucking amazing in season. Not to say they were so much better than the rest of the cast, but they were my least favorite characters in the first season and did a complete 180°.
S2 wasn't as good as S1, but it was really closer than I expected to be.

Yea I wasn't a fan of Steve in the first season but loved him in this season!
Yess this! Hated Steve, love him now!
I loved Dustin as the comic relief, he's a funny ass kid.
It just didnt fit is all i can say really.
filler which means it is skip able
Considering it ties into Eleven being able to focus her powers, it really isn't.
My favorite character from season 2 is Super Bob :D
Nerulon Skyven dead bob D:
Was* :(
Same, im sad.
Whoa first reviewer who didn't mention Steve Harrington he stole the show for me new favorite.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT. You did not come up with that yourself
All Alone never said i did.
Holy shit. That actually makes a lot of sense.
I also looked at a video that said the Secret Knock used by the cop at the house for 11 is Morse code for “it”
All Alone NICE!!!
The fact that you didn't mention OP guardian Steve Harrington is criminal
Asadullah Khan I know right season one was way better:P
Wouldn't say way better, but it was definitely better. :p
You're the first person to say that you liked the integration of Max. I love you
I like season 2. I fucking loved Bob.
Big Boss Bob was the best
Yeah, he was really tasty.
Why did Bob have to die?! He was so good! He was so y-... He was so good!
Bob was awesome and to think he was Mike from the Goonies makes it better lol xD.
well, who didn't
(SPOILER ALERT)
Did nobody else like the scene where Eleven went into her moms memories and found out the horrific loop that played over and over? Havent seen anyone talk about it and i thought it was really creepy
Yeah it's real fucked up
I swear, if I had the means, I would've hired Jon Bailey to do a voice over "FROM THE DIRECTOR of one of the most beloved animated films of the 21st Century 'Finding Nemo', Andrew Stranton is back, with..." and then just show that.... DISTURBING LOOP along with Will seizing out at the end of 205, and Jon'd be all "Oh god..."
Seriously, that moment with the loop was just horrifying. I think what creeped me out the most was when Terry was being hauled away from the rainbow room, and she just yells out "NOooooooooooooooooooo she's my daughter!" Just the way she yells that, I felt my heart sink to my stomach, and it felt too real.
One of the saddest things I've ever seen. God what a nightmare.
3 to the left
4 to the right
Sunflower
Rainbow
450
I loved it. It was a very "Hold the door!" moment.
So Jonathan........"how was the pull out"😂😂 I nearly died laughing
I don’t get that joke
MCU Forever you’re probably to young
MCU Forever don't worry mate
Jon Wick That one caught me off guard... I almost got abs laughing so hard.
MCU Forever you could ask your parents.
I cried when 11 and mike reunited , and the snowball dance
See, I was thinking maybe 11 would mature on her adventure. Like maybe she'd meet someone else and not run straight to Mike.
But did seriously *nobody* notice that Chester the dog was missing???
ImSoSja my man right here is asking the real questions
cmon.. everybody here for Mews.
ImSoSja Yeah, I thought they would mention him like “Shane that Chester passed away” or something
yeah i was watching the first epidode and i saw the dog and then realised that he was not in it
I actually thought the season 2 was much better. Probably because of Steve. His development was amazing
BronzeMuseum you are a sad pathetic creature
thats cool.
BronzeMuseum it is. Because your opinion sucks so muchhhhh. Give me 3 ways season 2 is better than season 1 and I guarantee I can counter everyone of them
BronzeMuseum I agree season 2 was great.
Kimberly Kootsouradis well you suck
Does no one wonder why Steve gets his ass kicked every season, like i wonder who's gonna kick his ass in season three?
Neil
I feel like Steve vs Billy pt2 will happen again for season 3 but Steve will come on top this time
I want Steve to beat the shit out of Billy's dad, and tell Billy, "You're welcome." Now that would be satisfying.
i mean Steve dont look like a great fighter or anything, and the writers werent about to play into that. Steve is a pretty boy athlete.. there was no way he was going to beat ol Billy badass in a fight. BUT, he did put up a hell of a fight for a little bit
Eleven
Oh shit, this review is early
ella *okay but Stuckmann uploaded much earlier
Thats what she said
NextGenGaming07 Because her name is she in Spanish?
Like a year early?
Season 2 was a very slow uninteresting burn. I barely remember the early installments. What saved the season was the last 2 episodes. 8 & 9 was such a rollercoaster ride that by themselves it made the entire season 5 stars on my ratings
Poor Bob.
In Project Mayhem we have no names.
SinX6 dude I said the same thing I liked Billy Just not Max and Dustin probably my favorite character or steve
I hated Billy, but I loved hating him. Hope he and Max beat the shit out of their dad or something, as that's the source of the problem.
I disagree with him being part of the squad simply because I need somebody to really hate on that show, and he's that guy EXACTLY.
watertommyz well idk why max would beat her step father..100% billy's dad isnt even mean to max i guarantee it.. billys just being a docuhe becuase he doesnt want a new mom and step sister. it happens all the time with divorces..its hinted at several times that billy intimidates and hurts max..
Noah schnapp's acting was amazing
jeff turnee I heard that he researched exorcism and possession in movies for the role. The kid is a smart actor.
It was some of the best acting I've ever seen in my life, it surprised me so much
R.I.P bob the superhero..easy peasy 😢
NON STOP you know they put him in to kill him off. Right?
Fuck barb #JusticeForBob
"I hooope it doesn't suuck!"
NON STOP #justiceforbob
St T. - I felt like will should have died and I also agree with Jeremy eleven should have "died" in season 1 and came back in like season 3 after shit goes south
RIP Samwise The Brave Gamgee aka(Bob)
as a big lord of the rings fan, i didn't even recognize him, name Sean Astin looked familiar to me so i checked imdb and holy shite
I knew that was Sean Astin, but all I could see was Patton Oswalt, anyone else feel the same?
WTF how did I not realize he was Sam?!
😔 Bob The Wise
Wait until you realize that was also the kid from the Goonies lol
And no one is going to talk about Winona Ryder ? She better get nominated again and win this time :)
Jordan Steele ..this comment is underrated
Interesting point
Jordan Steele except yoda was way better and more entertaining then those punkasses plus Luke didn’t look like he was going to a damn slipknot or Marilyn Manson concert or some shit when he left degobuh
They also didn't spend a whopping 45 pointless minutes on yoda
Yes! Yes! You get it!
For me, the last two episodes were just amazing. So much suspense and action and it felt like all the build up definitely payed off
DantheMan nope.
Your opinion sucks
wow great argument man, "Nope Your opinion sucks"
I don't know about you but for me Steve was my favorite character in season 2. I never thought from hating him the most to absolutely enjoy and like him as a character. And also Bob was a great man.
Stranger Things season 1 is Alien.
Stranger Things season 2 is Aliens.
Nick Raeff Ou, that's right. I didn't realise that.
I just hope it doesn't mean that season 3 will be shit.
I don't wanna know what season 4 is gonna be like...
Nick Raeff Stranger Things Season 3 will be Alienz
KaloTube in season 4 will find out that Will mom is an android and annoying or something.
Count_Sowir Both are great.
Episode 7 got me like "are we becoming X men now ?!" It would've been better if it was episode 3 or even out of the season
S1- amazing. Could not stop watching.
S2- a bit all over the place. Not as concise. Some storylines were on the boring side. Kept waiting for Eleven to reunite with the gang so I kept being disappointed everytime that didn't happen.
Cough cough kali
@@alan71390 YES
season 2 is very good tho
Ep 1 - 6 *Dr. Disrespect voice* "I CAN FEEL THE MOMENTUM!"
Ep 7 "umm what..?"
Ep 8 - 9 "THATS MORE LIKE IT!! BACK 2 BACK BABY"
“Like a lion. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. They ain’t ready for these teeth.” Best line of the whole season. 😂😂
Surprised that he didn't talked about Steve or Bob. Both were amazing
Bob looked real thicc when he was getting nimbled on fr
gLeeksFF savage 😂
Lmao!
O O F
Bruh
gLeeksFF "nibbled" lmao
Sam left middle earth to come to Hawkins for some reason.
George Valley
Well if Winona Ryder isn't good enough of a reason, I don't know what is...
I was like, no! Don't kill Samwise the Brave!
It's not even close to me, season 1 was pretty much perfect to me - season 2 was good but far from perfect.
Exactly.
Season 1 - Perfect
Season 2 - Fine
Season 3 - A mess
yeah
Season 2 deserves an awesometacular in memory of Bob Newby.
Steve character turns from the one I hate most, into one of my favorites. I love to see a character grows in a legit way, not forced
No mention of how Dustin and Steve's bromance was just the greatest thing to ever grace television?
Can't wait for SEASON 3 of STRANGER THINGS.
descendant of seth you'll be waiting 3 years hah
Michael Galster what do you mean by that?
I mean season 3 isn't until 2019 or 2020
Michael Galster are you sure?
Yep sorry
I thought you were going to wait for Stranger Things Season 3 to put up your review for this
Kinda wish he would've touched on Bob Newby and Steve, those two characters had crazy good arcs this season.
That scene where dustin was looking for a date broke my heart💔😥
Season 2 was good/alright. But the attempts at horror were so cliche and predictable. Like the time *SPOILER*
Bob died. The second he turned his back on the door to smile and show that he's alright, I knew he was dead meat. -_-
Sebastian Joseph it's Bob
I found it incredibly irritating that they try to use sudden loud noises for scare effect when the that's supposed to scare you isn't even scary. It's just plain annoying. Stranger things doesn't need this it's a very good series. Hope they cut it out in the following season.
Sebastian Joseph bob*
Cliche Horror Moments doesn't make it bad - it was never promised as a horror show. It was always a thriller/mystery. And the reason you find it cliche'd is because this show takes a lot from classic flicks and most of those horror flicks have those cliche moments.
I knew he was gonna die at the very beginning. It’s always that one new kind character that dies.
Did you know he’s the kid from The Goonies and Lord of The Rings?
You’re not late, I’m impressed
The Vagabond he’s like a week late
That's what she said
These bozos who replied to this forget Jeremy has a life lmfao. I actually digged his timing for this.
i decided to binge watch both seasons for the first time this week. watching each season right after each other gave me some perspective:
everything season 1 did right, season 2 did wrong. and season 2 was trash.
every major character is ruined for no reason. the supernatural villain is bigger but is obtuse and vague. the human villains basically don't exist in season 2, and they waste multiple hours on filler that leads nowhere.
eleven is squandered. she was obviously the most interesting and effective character in season one, and here she sits in a cabin eating eggos and being pouty for 5 hours.
hopper goes from being an awesomely effective action hero cop who cared about the residents in his town to a shitty dad who uses the literal oldest trope of all time "i lied to you so i could protect you" which always backfires.
dustin goes from the creative problem solver with good comedic timing to jealous, lying, self-absorbed idiot who actively undermines the success of his friends.
mike goes from the party leader who is the beacon for eleven to connect with, to a jealous, raging, useless character who sits around with will doing nothing.
this season was rushed, it was less original than the first, it was more drawn out and had way worse pacing. they tried to retread what worked while simultaneously making everything bigger, which doesn't work. there aren't even any good flashback triggers. the upside down just bleeds into hawkins now so the characters can lazily go back and forth at will instead of it being an intense and terrifying process.
i hope for their sake, they take more time to write season 3.
Well prepare to be disappointed
The moment Bob volunteered to restart the power himself, I immediately knew that he was gonna die.
Dustin is my favorite
If the pacing of this season was any faster then it would have done the story a disservice.
chriscruz23 this 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
chriscruz23 PREACH
"Even if Hellboy is so good"... Well that didn't age well 😂
Season 2 was like an amped up season 1. Loved it even more. 👍👍
Also, episode 7 was about Eleven finding herself and her purpose. She also was taught how to amplify her powers. So yeah, episode 7 wasn't great but definitely wasn't garbage as some may claim.
I feel like I am the only only who had Steve as one of his favourite characters from episode 1 of season 1.
Also Steve till the day I die as well. He's probably my favorite.
Well episode 7 was nessesary for showing what eleven is capeble for, and show that there are more psycothic characters, and the fact that brenner is alive, so i guess even tho people think its bad, its full of necessary info
If someone says something to you while drunk, it’s what they rly think. Steve got done dirty
That kid who plays Will did an amazing job this scene. We didn't get to see him much of him in season one, but man he really brought this season.
Never understood the obsession about being first
It means you're the coolest, and everybody wants to be the coolest.
blvckraikage need a high iq
you gangsta blvckraikage you slick bitch. never understanding obsession about being first. dammmm u a cool kid
That means you win ... duh
What does it take to be #1, 2 is not a number and 3 nobody remembers - Nelly
For creators, the earlier the better. Any later and Jeremy risks getting less views as many folks have already binged it all, watched reviews, and moved on. So, in essence, being early, or first, means more notoriety, a potentially larger audience and chance to grow your brand, and in this case could potentially influence new viewers to the show or film he is reviewing earlier. Now you have been equipped with a small amount of understanding.
Oh you reviewed season 2? Has it been a year already? :p
Season one was better.
fiscer247 no
Thank you for this and NOT WAITING!!!
I agree with you Jeremy about Eleven this season she felt like she had to be in this season to sell season 2
kirby Freeman Except she wasn't even in it much and her arc was the least interesting as good as it was. Will stole the show this season. Eleven was just the cherry on top
Also every other character is completely useless and meaningless without Eleven...
Every character is useless and meaningless without her? Really? Maybe mike is, but everyone else absolutely not. Fucking idiot lmao
At the very least all the kids become meaningless (excluding Will), but really everyone because no one in Hawkins is even close to having the means to deal with what's in the upside down. The only options for season 2 were bring back Eleven or bring in another one of the Hawkins Lab subjects to take her place.
Ep 7 is so bad, I'm waiting for the "distinctive fan" article titled, "10 Reasons why Ep 7 is Actually Awesome".
Video KanjiClub The problem with that episode is they took us out of Hawkins. It just doesn't feel like Stranger Things if we're not in Hawkins anymore. But I enjoyed the episode.
I honestly didn't hate the episode. It just broke pacing, but it was a fun episode that laid the groundwork for future storylines.
Ummmm Eleven expanded her powers, literally did the darth vader force chokehold on a scientist, joined a band of criminals to actually use her powers for evil, and even the other girl's powers were cool to see. Why do people hate it so much? Cause she was black I bet
I thought she was like Hindu/Indian, not black lol
she probably is. What I meant was Not white( just kidding btw)
Hopper had all that info at the cabin because just like 11, he needs to keep this all on the down low. Thought that was a bit obvious.
chriscruz23 But why at the cabin why not locked away in his office where you know she's not gonna find it? Or hell why not burn it
All I know is that I want a Spin Off: "Dustin & Steve" they can talk about girls and solve mysteries like supernatural
Don't quite agree with max being well inserted in the story. You take her out and the only thing that goes missing is the love triangle between her, lucas and dustin, and then maybe we could have 11 back with the boys earlier.
SPOILERS
how fuckin great was the steve/dustin stuff, by the way?
J Mike how tf did you predict this shit
wow, you are spot on with that short circuit 2 reference.
Sams death hit me hard, probs cus I'm a lotr fan
QuickDrops I knew he was gonna die the moment they introduced him. For me he was a male version of Barb LOL
I made a video talking about influences of Jimmy Neutron on Stranger things for anyone interested
now do us a favor and watch true detective since the third season is on production
Completely agree. First couple episodes had me skeptical, not as excited to keep watching. By episode 3 or 4 though I was invested and finished it that day.
I lean with season two being a little better, but it's honestly just so freaking close.
Loved season 1. Liked season 2.
Kami84 Loved Season 1 Really loved season 2
Well time to review big mouth and bojack horseman
El sealing the gate and stopping the shadow monster was so Jean Grey/Phoenix. I almost cried. Plus her return entrance was so killer.
