- I traveled to Westside Ave. New Jersey to try Filipino Foods for the first time. Watch me react to Beef Tapa (like beef jerky) and Kare-Kare (Filipino peanut stew). I also try kalderetang kambing (goat stew) and tokwat baboy (pork and fried tofu). This place was amazing because it was all-you-can-eat buffet style with delicious home cooking of the Philippines. I also tried the Filipino snack called Ding Dong.

I wish I could go there and try those mouthwatering food. Thanks for the great content man!
Aw this touched my heart. he knew each dish huhu ❤️
That place looked great! She was nice and only $11.99 with ox tail, that was a deal!
The thing about kare-kare is that it is usually eaten with bagoong alamang on the side. The peanutty flavor is not complete without the bagoong, so you kinda have to assemble each bite with some of the meat + a teenie tiny bit of bagoong alamang for taste. Then again, I know not everyone can acquire taste for bagoong. Glad you liked the food!
this guy has a very good taste...liking filipino foods has a very good taste on foods...
my mouth waters at the mention of kare-kare. this vlog made me drool
Buffet for UsD 12.00? You got lucky my friend. Even in the Philippines, its way more than that. I am loving this.
That Ding-dong is green peas, peanuts and chichacorn (semi-popped corn). Yes, it really goes great with beer. It's one of those 'pulutan' (pick-up snacks) that are good beer buddies. Other usual Filipino beer buddies are chicharon, barbeque /skewers, kilawin (ceviche), grilled tuna belly...
Kare-kare with ginisang bagoong is a must!! 👌
Hi, from Toronto!🇨🇦🤚 Just love your videos! It makes me so hungry and crave those food!😅 Just a rule of thumb when it come to Filipino Food, Vinegar base sauces with or without chillies are usually used for grilled and fried /deep fried dishes. Fish Sauce (Patis) are often use in Stews and Soups to adjust the saltiness of the dish. With the exception of Kare Kare. You use a bit of shrimp paste(Bagoong) to adjust saltiness of the Kare Kare and to add a bit of umaminess to it. For Calamansi/ Lemon base sauce, it usually use with mostly noodles and seafood. Banana Ketchup is usually used with some fried shrimp rolls(Lumpia) and some fried dishes like scramble eggs or fried eggplants (Tortang Talong) Also, if you would like to pronounce the name of the dish correctly, every thing is pronounced with a short vowel. A as in Apple. E as in Enter. I as in It. O as in Odd. With U is pronounced more like “oo” as in Book. Also, in the Philippines language 2 vowels like “oo” in book is pronounce in 2 syllables and not one for example : Shrimp paste- Bagoong is prounced as “Ba” “Go” “ong”. The fried Milk Fish-Daing is pronounced as “Da” “ing”. Look forward to more of your videos. Cheers!

$12 for a buffet?!? And with those mouth-watering varied dishes?!? Dayumm, that's a virtual fiesta bro!
Worthy of the Jersey City salute
Omggggggg!!!! The selections of food😭😭😍
I love Ding Dong! I used to eat it whenever I had to cram before exams... The crunching keeps me awake and alert 🤣 I wouldn't suggest cramming for anything, though. I'm just lazy! Also, depending on how the kare kare was cooked (peanut butter vs. crushed peanuts vs. a mix of both), you'd really need bagoong to cut down on the creaminess/sweetness. It's not a full kare kare experience without it!
Bagoong! I need to remember next time! I love the ding dong crunch story about it helping you stay awake!
@@unculturedtravel you have to be careful with the bagoong, though! People keep underestimating how stinky it is 🤣 Without warning, people trying it for the first time are turned off by the smell alone. Especially bagoong from a freshly opened jar. Ugh! Also, a lot of our local junk foods go well with beer. You should try oiishi prawn snacks (the spicy one) next time if you haven't! The salted egg and the regular flavor are way too salty for me...
Goat stew is just a classic, as is the kare-kare. Try everything, dude. Filipino dishes are just the bomb. My mouth's watering looking atcha devouring at 'em. She has turon (dessert). 🎉👊♥️
Wow... buffet. Everything looks so good! You need shrimp paste (bagoong) with the Kare kare. :)
Binagoongan also is fire... They just mix the shrimp paste in the pork.
