- Can I name EVERY UK Overseas Territory? @JackSucksAtLife @JackSucksAtStuff @JackMasseyWelsh @JackSucksAtClips
on JackSucksAtGeography we upload a range of easy to watch & sometimes educational geography related content. I have successfully learned all 197 countries and flags of the world. I also look at interesting maps to teach us more about different parts of the world and their culture. On this channel I also play Geoguessr.

Hey Jack! Since you keep putting off the capitals of the world, here are some more things to do before you INEVITABLY learn ALL the capitals. :)
Every state flag in the U.S (Just learnt you already did this one)
All the places that aren't recognised by the UN
The flags for all the places that aren't recognised by the UN
Which pieces of Antarctica are owned by which countries
The country outlines for all the places that aren't recognised by the UN
"How many times can I spell Kyrgyzstan without messing up?" (YT Short) or "How many tries until I can spell Kyrgyzstan correctly?" (YT Short)
Last but DEFIANTLY NOT LEAST, GeoGuessr IRL Part 2??
He already did the state flags.

So the one with the three dolphins on its flag is Anguilla (yes it's pronounced Anne-gwilluh; the locals will tell you this). There's actually a story behind why those dolphins are there:
Basically in 1967, Britain granted one of its colonies (St Christopher-Nevis-Anguilla) the status of associated state with a degree of self-governance. The people of Anguilla, however, didn't want to remain in a union with St Kitts. And so on May 30 of that year, the St Kitts police were kicked off the island. The new provisional Anguilla government then requested the US to take over, but the US surprisingly, said no. A referendum was held in July and over 99 percent of the island voted to leave the union with St Kitts & Nevis and become its own colony. This referendum wasn't recognized by either St Kitts & Nevis nor the UK and by 1968, an agreement on the island's long-term future still hasn't been reached. In February 1969, another referendum was held (a month after Ronald Webster declared independence) and once again over 99 percent voted in favor of leaving the union, but this time in favor of a republic.
In response to this, a month later, the UK sent 300 personnel from the 2nd Battalion, Parachute Regiment and 22 London police officers by helicopter to restore order. While Ronald Webster (the republic's council chairman; leader) fled and went to the UN to promote the island's right to self-determination. So what happened next? Webster became the first Chief Minister (his Anguilla Progressive Movement party still dominates), Anguilla was allowed to leave the union with St Kitts, which they formally did in 1980, but rather than gain independence like St Kitts & Nevis did in 1983, it has remained a British territory to this day. To honor the republic, the coat of arms of the current Anguilla flag was designed with the Three Dolphins flag design of the republic
Cool
Ok…
Thank you suprine leader

Literally everyone: When are you going to learn capitals Jack??
Jack: *No*
4:37 my cousin would be dissapointed in you Jack. She lives there. (Don't worry, you made it up to her later in the video)
Jack: This one I don't even know where that is. Akrotiri and Dhekelia
Also Jack: *Literally did a game where he had to name the neighboring countries surrounding Akrotiri and Dhekelia.*
We've already told you this, but it exists to house military bases. Britain wanted to keep its military there because of its strategic location so as part of the independence of Cyprus, Akrotiri and Dhekelia became a territory.
Omg Kim your my idol 😂
I’m from Bermuda and one kinda obscure way to remember the flag is the story behind it. In 1609 a ship call the sea venture crashed on the reefs off of Bermuda and the flag has a crashing ship on it. It’s also the red one if that easier.
your not from bermuda
Ok whatever you need to tell yourself. It’s a weird thing to get mad about but ok. I mean I am 16th generation Bermudian and have lived here my entire life but if you say no then I guess I’m just from nowhere
Jack, Earlier when I tried to name all countries from flag I barely get a score of 40, but after watching just 1 video of u doing the same thing, I got 95 in just one try. So, it is safe to say that u teach us more geography than our teacher.

Really easy tip for Antarctica, it’s the only fully white British ensign flag (Antarctica is white because of snow). Bermuda is the only red ensign too which might be helpful for you to remember it.
why do i feel like jack should do every flag for every overseas territory in the world
Hey, Jack if you're not willing to learn all the capitals try learning these:
1. Provinces of Canada
2. Divisions of Australia
3. Ten of the smallest micro states
4. Ten of the least populated countries
5. Twenty of the most populated countries
6. Every Disputed Territory
Can’t wait for Jack to learn the New Zealand territories.
Do we think Jack ever realised that first list was in alphabetical order (bar the ones in the British Isles at the end)?
And the last one, right at the end too (bar the constituent countries and crown dependencies)
The Virgin Islands is divided among the British Virgin Islands and the US Virgin Islands. But when Jack visits, they become the British Islands and the US Islands to signify the presence of a Chad
Montserrat is probably the most (if not one of; British Indian Ocean Territory is up there as the Chagossians were forcibly removed and not even allowed to return permanently because the US wants to keep its military base there) depressing out of all of them. While the official capital is Plymouth, the city is completely buried in volcanic ash after eruptions from the island's once dormant Soufrière Hills volcano. Thankfully unlike Pompeii, the residents were able to evacuate to neighboring Antigua. Now you can't visit the southern half of the island unless you have special permits on a tour because it's an Exclusion Zone (though the public can take a helicopter tour from Antigua that flies over the whole zone).
Yeah, I had a geography case study about Montserrat a while back and while there weren't many deaths at all, it was horrendous
Hi Jack, here's a tip to make your speedrun faster (for the final quiz): You can skip the words British and Territory for the Indian ocean and Antarctic ones and you can put Cyprus for Akrotiri.
Edit: Grammar

Keep up the good work dude love your videos I've been watching your videos for over 4 years 😀 👍!!!!!!!!!!!
7:58 the hand is on the northern ireland flag bc the 6 countys in northern ireland are in a province called ulster and ulster has a very iconic symbol witch is ther red hand of ulster. ulster also has 9 countys in it 3 of witch are in the republic of irelandand the other 6 are in northern ireland. ulster is one of 4 provinces in ireland and the 3 countys that are in the republic part of ulster are donygal cavan and monahan (they may not be spelt correctly). donygal is the county witch makes the republic of ireland more north than northern ireland.
Actually technically northern Ireland has no official flag
10:02 yes there was a dispute in 1982 in which the military junta of Argentina illegally invaded the Falkland islands, the UK defended the Falkland islanders from the tyranny of the invading force and won the Falklands conflict in a stunning victory. Would highly recommend learning more about the war as it is an important part of our history and many militaries across the world still refer back to it today as an example of how to fight a large conflict far away from home and how to manage a carrier navy with limited supplies. (also the claim Argentina has to the Falklands is non existent and has been termed by many historians as a "nationalist fantasy".
The invasion carried out by the argentinian dictatorship (which was in power in a big part due to north american and british support) might have been wrong, but the claim to the place is completely reasonable, specially if you consider that the british knew they were stealing it. Besides, it wasnt a huge militar win as you want to make it seem, it was the biggest navy in the world against some poor 18 year olds who were forced to go and die for a dictator they didnt care about.
The UK defending people from tyranny? Makes a change, eh?
If you were wondering the reason there is a big red hand on the northern ireland flag is a pretty interesting story
Its from a mythical tale, Where 2 princes were racing and the winner became king. When the race was coming to the end. The prince in 2nd place cut his hand off and threw it across the finish line and won. and i think the red hand represents the blood on the hand
Not 100% if this is accurate but its something like that
Everyone: please learn capitals!

I have a great idea for a video Jack!!
Learn the capitals of all the countries!!
The British Antarctic Territory is also disputed between UK, Argentina and Chile, as well as not being recognized by anyone else but the other 4 countries that have territorial claims in Antarctica.
Good luck learning the flags of the territories tho. I've been interested in geography for maybe 20 years, known the flags of all countries for almost as long, but still can't remember the territory flags, since they are so similar, and all of them are not even official flags.
Because of you I managed to learn all the countries and flags by memory, as well as all the united states. I have now learnt all the capitals and I think you should too.
Yeah yeah he will totally do it...
The Falkland Islands I think the Argentines would disagree that it is a UK territory
Fackland?
@@LTT-kw6zz auto correct lol
Argentina's claim over the Falklands is completely nonsensical. In 2013 they had a referendum on the issue with the question "Do you wish the Falkland Islands to retain their current political status as an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom?" and only 3 people voted no while 1 513 people voted yes. The British 1st discovered the islands in 1690 and eventually established a permanent settlement in 1765 while Argentina wasn't a recognized independent nation until 1823
Good luck with all french overseas territories

Cyprus is arguably geographically Asian rather than European, though ethnically it's predominantly European. The Sovereign Base areas are mostly for military use, but do contain some local villages. They are still subject to some aspects of EU law even after Brexit.
