If you ever looked at the lifestyle of an overweight person you will see that there is a lack of discipline, self control and determination to lose weight. Even if just one of those qualities are missing there will be failure. Losing weight also requires sacrifice. I have a sister whom I love dearly who is very overweight and is always complaining about her weight. However when its time to sacrifice her food choices she fails. She has allowed food to become a reason for living instead of using it as a basic necessity to live. I asked her about fasting and she looked at me as if she wanted to stone me. She turns into a mean unreasonable bull when she wants food. WHen you mention dieting during those moments she'll give you warnings to get out of the way or else.

@@nbagoats4819Have you ever known an alcoholic? Ever witnessed how one drink sends them into a spiral, when it has little effect at all on a nonalcoholic?
Alcoholics who recognize their addiction and want to quit usually go cold turkey, counting their days, months and years of sobriety, starting back at 0 if they have even a sip of alcohol.
A person struggling with obesity and/or food addiction can’t go cold turkey, they have to eat to live so they have to test their willpower every single day, multiple times per day. Imagine if an alcoholic had to have just one sip of alcohol 3 times/day, knowing that it’s their greatest weakness. I’m not saying there isn’t personal responsibility involved in obesity and food choices, but we know that people with alcohol or heroin addiction can fall off the wagon with just one hit. It’s absurd to not acknowledge the similarities in other addiction.

I have sympathy for individuals with weight problems, I just don't think sick people should die and get mamed because of their inability to put the fork and knife down and get up from the table. I have a sister who's overweight, but she turned down diabetic medication, and started working her butt off and eating less, and eating healthier. Find another medication.. We desreve not to become second class citizen because of someone else's poor choices. I think they need help, and deserve help. But I don't think people suffering from diashould pay the price. The solution is simple, it's like if you find yourself in a hole, stop digging. Over eating? Just have some willpower and stop eating so much. It's hard, but it can be done.

Recently I had to rush my 30 year old son to the hospital. He has back trouble/ the hospital put my son on so many drugs I had to threaten them with a lawsuit. I told them you are trying to addicted my son to pain medication. I don’t think so… Due to me fighting for my son he is now getting the surgery he needs. Even for myself I have to fight to get the health care I need and deserve/ and Yes, I am now on Ozempic.

No it’s not a skin color thing, like I said, and I mean what I said, it’s a money grab. If you can’t see that, smdh no wonder you so easily throw her skin color into the mix. Get a grip and grow up. Stop projecting your worst insecurities onto the world.

Wow...2 hours later & my comment is still up. I love Oprah. Theres something in me that wishes she would bow out gracefully & not be hooked out. This Queen is coming off as desperate as a Kardashian in pursuit to stay relevant. I dont want to see her reducing herself to their type level. Shes actually brought much good to the world. Not just self centeredness, greed & fluff.

I'm sorry, but Oprah was the one who made her weight a focus of her show, when she hauled out the little red wagon full of meat to indicate how much weight she'd lost. So for her to say she's tired of being weight shamed, is ridiculous. She started the whole brouhaha.

Charles, why did you gain back 12lbs? Is it because your Mind, was not prepared, once you got off the drugs? You were depended, on the drugs, and couldn’t maintain, what you had loss, on you own.
