Yep I hear you, had exactly the same - "challenging to find" squeak on my daughters W201 twice in 11 years, second time I used silicon grease, problem solved - for another 500 thousand K's, gotta love older mercs.Cheers from the Eastern states.

Can you show us how you check suspension and steering parts etc, i am terrible at this.
You haven't changed you coolant since 2016? For shame! lol
correct, though i am closely monitoring it. Bare in mind this cars only done probably 8,000km since i got it.
